Darken had found some footing, and was making decent time out again, but not at all what he would have liked. The ground was still too wet from all the rains to be able to take at a run, and it slowed progress greatly. He was only about a third of the way from the city he'd be if the conidtions had been better. But he still pushed as much as he dared. Injuring a horse now, so far from the next waystation, would just have him end up walking, and wasting a perfectly good horse.
Not a very good decision. Still, the storm has holed him up in one spot too long, and he was beginning to think the first day was wasted. Still, if teh rains continued for the next few days, waitting would have gotten him nowhere. Better to be on the road, if slowly, then back where he started.
"Well, that may sound good," he muttered, "But words don't help much against the cold, or an upset horse...."
{{OOC: Well, I'm still here. But there's not a lot to post. Time hasn't passed enough for him to get anywhere, there's no one to interact with, so forth and so on. Of course, with everyone following along to catch up to him, I imagine things will pick up. Once, you know, you get supplies and start riding.}}

Calintz now stood at the gates on his own horse, the one he had rode to the Keep and back. He took a few moments to look around, he had left ahead of the others, because he had to go all the way to the palace and get his pack and weapons from his room. He hadn't been sure if his weapons would be in his room or not, but the guards must have taken them to his room and left them.
Calintz had also taken the time to gather up some food and other supplies that he could carry. The guards had been kind enough to supply him with an ashen bow and arrows, for hunting.
Calintz had then informed the guards that the Mother Confessor, First Wizard, Lord Rahl, and himself would be leaving the city. He hadn't been sure if they would believe him or not, he wasn't from the city and the guards wouldn't really know him. He also had no rank, because he wasn't in the army, so to this men he appeared as a civilian. Strangely, the guards had nodded understandingly. He wondered momentarily if Amara had informed the guards about him.
Calintz held his forest cloak close about him, to shut away the the cold rain. He looked in the sky for a few moments for Shadow, she must have went to find a dry shelter. He knew she'd find him easily enough and return to him when the rain stopped.

Amara had rushed herself whilst in the kitchen, preparing biscuits, water cantines and dried meats for Zedd and the others. After having ensure there would be enough for the journey, she placed all the food in protective leather traveling bags and took each along with the cantines with her to her small room within the Keep. Ever since she was little, she had chosen a particular room to stay in when she to visit the Keep. The small window in the cozy little room overlooked the west side of Aydinril, and Amara had always been rather fond of watching the sunset. As she bustled about the room, she found on the small desk next to the bed, a small, yet elegant dagger her father had given her on her thirteenth birthday. Picking it up, she removed it from it's sheath to check the blade. Satisified that it was well sharpened, she placed it back in the sheath and laid it back on the desk as she went bustling about packing her travel bags with a few things, some of which included some old traveling clothes and a book her mother had given her when she was twelve. The book was about the very fist Confessor, Magda Searus, in fact, it was discovered to be Magda Searus' journal. Amara loved reading about Magda, and was shocked by how much Magda reminded her of her mother.
After having packed a few things for the journey, Amara grabbed the dagger from the desk. She would have a sword around her waist, so the dagger could not be strapped there, so instead, Amara simply lifted her white Mother Confessor's dress to her upper right thigh and strapped the dagger to her thigh, before allowing her dress to fall back down to cover her legs. Her mother had taught her that little trick. Strapping her sword around her waist Amara grabbed her traveling bag and the food bags and cantines and rushed back down to where Zedd and Lophus both were at the stables. Smiling gently at her brother, she handed him his bag of food and water cantine. It truly amazed her how alike he was to her father, the way he sat upon his proud mare, dressed from head to toe in the War Wizard's outfit.
Going to Zedd, Amara handed him his food bag and cantine as well and strode to her own horse. She made a quick task of tying down her bags and tying up her water cantine. Amara swiftly and gracefully mounted her majestic snowy white mare. Glancing at her great-grandfather then her brother, she smiled firmly.
" Are we ready?."

Amara returned Zedd's smiled in kind, turning in her saddle to glance about the room, following Zedd's hazel gaze. She had nearly forgotten about Hack, and had not expected him to want to come along on their journey for whatever reason. Amara followed Zedd's gaze and soon found Hack emerging from around a corner. It seemed he had somehow managed to supply himself with a proficient amount of weapons. A Boundary Warden he was indeed, covered from head to foot in weapons, much like Chase would have been or any of the other Boundary Wardens would have been. The Boundary Wardens were amazing people, and Hack seemed to be no exlcusion.
Amara suddently found herself remembering her younger days with her mother and father when Chase would come visit. How she had loved Chase. She had always called him " Uncle Chase," since he had been like a brother to her father.
Amara smiled kindly at Hack as the man quickly mounted his dark brown horse and positioned himself behind the rest of them, apparently wanting to take up the position of rear-guard.
When Zedd at last turned back to Amara, she nodded firmly, falling into place behind Zedd.
Upon exiting the Keep, Amara's green eyes caught sight of Amon, a rather dissatified look within his features. Amara smiled softly over at him, waving him closer. Amara knew how he hated to be left behind whenever she traveled somewhere with Zedd and her brother. He had always insisted that he go along to protect them in order to repay them.
" Amon!," Amara called out to him, scanning the area. Had he not ridden a horse up to the Keep?. If so, he would need to mount immediately and follow them, though he did not have supplies as they did, though Amara would more than willingly enough share her supplies with him.

Amara stopped her horse just near Amon in order to allow him to approach her. Amara had not expected her brother to dismount as they came to a halt. Following him with her emerald green eyes, Amara's brow raised in curiousity. What was her brother planning now?.
" Lophus?," Amara spoke her brother's name tenderly, a quizzical look crossing her lovely features. It seemed something rather important had just occured to her brother. From atop her snowy white mare Lucrezia, Amara gazed down upon her brother, her green eyes searching his face. She was worried about him. She did not now on this day, of all days, want to be apart from her brother for long. True enough this long arduous day was coming to a close, but Amara was begining to feel so secluded and alone, even though Zedd and the others were around her. Sighing softly, Amara appraised her brother for a moment. " You have thought of something...something has come to you that you desire to see to....am I right?," Amara murmured, gracefully dismounting Lucrezia and straightening herself as she stood before her brother, gazing up into his eyes.

Amon was more than somewhat confused when the Lord Rahl offered up his horse and supplies for Amon to take. He then noticed the Lord Rahl's gaze going to Mount Kymermosst. It was obvious that he had noticed or remembered, Amon wasn't sure which, something that he needed to take care of. Amon wished to ask what it was that seemed so important, but he didn't want to sound as if he were questioning the Lord Rahl. He had always been afraid to speak, afraid of the punishments that would come from speaking out of turn, and especially the punishments that came from questioning orders. He somehow managed to gather up the courage to speak. "Might I be bold enough to ask why it is that you aren't going?" His voice came out course and deep, from years of silence. This embarassed him more than the speaking itself did. His face began to flush, so he turned his face toward the ground, refusing to look into the Lord Rahl's eyes. He, at this point, feared severe chastisement for not only speaking out of turn but for questioning one of higher authority than himself. He busied himself with fidgeting with the dirk at his waist as he waited for the Lord Rahl to punish him for his insubbordination, casting a sidelong glance at the Mother Confessor in a somewhat appologetic way.

Calintz looked around, he was still waiting for the others. It seemed something was holding them up. He wondered for a moment if he should make his way toward them or not. As he thought the matter over he stroked Shadow’s head, and after a few more moments had made up his mind. He turned his horse around so that he could begin riding toward the Keep.
Calintz wondered if his horse had a name, he had never thought to ask the stable boy. He would just give the horse a name, but he thought it better to wait and see if the Mother Confessor knew its original name. As he made his way back toward the Keep, and the others he went over a list of supplies he had gathered. After a while, he began to make out five shapes, though he couldn’t see who they were, he had a good guess: Zedd, Amara, Lophus, and Hack, but who was the fifth? He figured he’d wait and see when he got there.

Amara couldn't help but smile when she saw the impish grin spread across her brother's lips and the sparkle in his eyes. Amara's green eyes regarded her brother for a moment as he spoke. She had indeed noticed his gaze off toward Mount Kymermosst, and was not at all surprised to find that he had been thinking about going to the Temple of the Winds. Amara sighed gently, gazing into her brother's eyes. She could tell her brother was noting the worried look in her soft green eyes. She nodded, agreeing with her brother. The weather had indeed at last broken, and they would need to take full advantage of such an opportunity. Amara's gaze lingered on her brother for a time as her brother clapped Amon on the back in a warm embrace. Lophus had left enough unsaid of how he would arrice back at the People's Palace. The Sliph. Amara needed no other explanation, after all, she and her brother were the only one's who could travel in the Sliph. Amara turned to face Zedd when she heard his voice, gazing into his hazel eyes. The look he was giving her brother was certainly a serious one. Amara had nearly forgotten about the Chimes for a moment, and would not have thought of them affecting the Sliph until Zedd mentioned it. Amara turned back to face her brother, a distraught expression within her features.
" I will go with you then," Amara spoke in a firm tone, gazing up into her brother's eyes, a determined look settling into her features. " We can both travel in the Slip..... Amara hesitated for a moment, waiting to see if her brother would argue against her. " I'd rather you not go alone...," Amara stated in a flat tone, smiling defiantly up at her brother.
