So snapping turtle was disappointing. It is like chicken, but with that muddy kind of taste fish like crappie have. It is also chewy and tough like eating a leather belt, I am just not a fan. The ritual of killing and cleaning them is also pretty barbaric, but I love the nickname of the place where Danny did it, the "Tree of Woe", the final destination to the mighty snapper, that is where they hang it upside down to cut off the legs and head and then let the heart pump the blood out. Horrifying but effective.
