Blaze nodded. "Yeah, you're probably right."

Kaen smirked and let her flame cool down to an emerald green. "Yeah, he doesn't have anything that I can't already do. I have to thank Blaze for helping me out."
Jay smirked as he watched Amelie and Jasna.
Kaen heard the slap and felt her flame heat up. "Hell no. No one slaps my friends in front of me." She spun around, holding a white flame again. "You've just royally pissed me off. You'd better be ready to get burned."
She threw the fireball at Cron and Amelie, hard. She smiled evilly. "Hey, Jasna. Which one do you want to ice? the other one won't be available after I'm through."
Rikka jumped and looked rapidly between Jasna and Kaen. She looked terrified.
Frost clenched his fists. He hated fighting, and seeing Cron's crew start one was worse.

Jasna glared at Amelie. "Let me take some more shots at Amelie, Kaen. I can beat up Cron some other time. Frost... Care to help?"

Burner made his way into the hallway when he froze. "Crap. It's Cron. And Jay. And the rest of those assholes. And Jasna, Kaen, Rikka and Frost are all standing there. Let's go, Blaze."

Frost held up his hands. "I'm not throwing any shots. Kaen seems set to fight on her own!"
Rikka looked ready to run away in a panic.
Kaen's smirk grew. "Feel free to take Amelie. Maybe she'll learn how not to piss off a Fire starter."

Blaze stopped for a second. "Cron and Jay?! Crap! Are they fighting?" Blaze looked both angry and scared. Cron had kicked his a** once.

Jasna shrugged and looked at Amelie. "So. You gonna fight me or not?"
Amelie laughed and said, "It would be cruel of me to beat the dirt from my shoes."
Jasna gasped angrily and summoned and iceball. "Would you like to say that again?"
Amelie smiled and replied, "Sure. I. Am. Too. Nice. To. Attack. The. Dirt. From. My. Shoes."
Jasna snapped and threw the iceballs at Amelie's head. She summoned vines that brushed them aside. "I'm not that tolerant, Jasna."

Burner sighed and grabbed Blaze's arm. "Deal with your fears later, idiot. You've gotta be valiant and go help your girl! Jasna just threw iceballs at Amelie and got brushed aside... And Kaen looks ready to kill Cron and Jay about now. But it's two on one. Since Cron's an Air... Maybe the three of us Fires can take those two down. Jay isn't much. He's just for show..."

Blaze slapped his hand out of Burner's grip. "I know that!!" He ran forward, leaving Burner behind.

Kaen launched a fireball at Cron and smirked evilly at Jay. "Wanna join in? You'll just get burned a lot worse."
Jay threw a feeble green fireball at her, but Kaen caught it and heated it up. "Oooh. Bad move, moron."
She threw the white fireball in his face, knocking him out from the intense heat. "Hey! One down. Care to try something, Cron the slug king?" She summoned two more flaming fireballs and tilted her head to the side. "I doubt you'll do much against me."
Blaze skidded to a stop a few feet away. Kaen glanced at him. "Oh. What're you doing here?" She calmed down, letting her white flames cool to a blazing blue.
Blaze looked at Cron. "He's an Air alchemist. I want to help."
Kaen looked surprised. "Oh. Well, I was just going to give him a lovely tattoo to match his poor attitude." She wasn't even paying attention to Cron anymore.

Frost and Rikka got out of the way. "They're crazy!"

Jasna swiveled around and glared at Frost and Rikka. "Look, you can stand aside all you want. But don't call me crazy for wanting to defend my dignity."
Jasna turned around again and blasted water at Amelie. A vine shield with air support went up, but the water was so violent that it pierced the shield in a few places. Amelie glared and threw a blast of green fire at Jasna. Jasna quickly quenched it. "Just keep trying. Just... You'll never beat me..."

Cron shoved a few wind spirals in Blaze and Kaen's faces. "Go away. You're both so below me... I really shouldn't even be talking to you." Cron turned around and started to walk away.
~
Burner shot a flame at Cron's feet and knocked him over. "Say that to my friends again."
Cron laughed as he got up. "This girl's both your friend and Brian's? No wonder she's so worthless! She hangs out with the wrong crowd. Sweetie, you'd better learn to make good choices soon."

Frost and Rikka held up their hands. "We weren't calling you crazy. Blaze and Kaen jumped off the deep end."

Kaen blew away the wind spirals. "You're a coward. I can tell you're shaking." She laughed as Burner tackled Cron. "Nice job Burner!! you just got a lot of respect." She didn't even care about Cron.
Blaze stared as Burner attacked Cron. "Holy crap."
Kaen looked at Cron with an expression of distaste. "If I didn't have friends watching, I'd show you why you should be fearing me."

Hate burned in Burner's eyes. "Kaen... Let me finish him off. I've been wanting to do that for forever."
Cron laughed. "Last time you tried, I beat you so bad, you went to your dorm room crying."
Burner gritted his teeth and said, "This time will be different!"

Jasna stared at Burner as though he was insane for a moment before being knocked over by a spiraling flame shot by Amelie. She quickly stood up and put out the flame before unleashing a water cyclone on Amelie's head. Amelie shrieked and ran for the bathroom. "Glad that's over with..." Gritting her teeth, Jasna created ice under Cron's feet, causing him to slip. "Burner! Fire, now!" Burner looked up, confused before realizing that Jasna was indeed talking to him. He threw a white fireball at Cron's hair, missing and hitting Cron on the nose. Cron drowned it in water, but his nose was still burned. "Go away... Cron... Leave." Burner said quietly.
Cron glowered before getting to his feet. "Burner, this isn't over for you and your girlfriends."

Kaen laughed hard. "Jasna and Burner, One! Slug king, Zip!"
Blaze glared at Cron. He's going to try something dirty.
Kaen glanced around. "If the slugs can't handle a small group like us, they have no right to call themselves the top." She spun around and put her hands behind her head. "Ah, being a princess of fire in wasteland of ice. I like it so much better here." She realized she'd slipped and dropped her arms. "Getting way too comfortable here... See you guys later." She seemed angry again.
Blaze stared at her oddly. "Princess?" He sounded more confused than interested.
Frost sighed heavily. This isn't over yet...
Rikka looked at Kaen in confusion. Princess? What is she talking about?

Jasna swirled around and gaped at Kaen. "Princess... Wait, what?" she muttered.
Burner oggled at Kaen for a moment before staring at Jasna. "Hey. Good teamwork."
"Yeah... Thanks..."
"No, I'm serious. We work well together. Maybe we should do that again some time in the future."
Jasna laughed. "You wish, SOB." She ran to catch up to Kaen. "Hey. Everything okay? Or do you want me to leave you alone?"

Kaen snapped her fingers, summoning a blue flame. "I'm going to go burn a building down. Hopefully before I snap." She didn't want to say it so harshly, but didn't know how else to say it. "When my anger hits a peak, I spin out. I forget everything and burn everything in my path. I've done it before, and it didn't blow over too well."

Blaze watched as Kaen and Jasna walked away. He walked over to Burner. "Did you hear what I did, or am I losing it?" He was refering to the 'princess' comment.

Rikka and Frost looked at each other. Frost looked up. "This isn't over yet, Cron won't back down."
Rikka glanced at Blaze and Burner. "I wouldn't think it was either."

Burner sighed and said, "Cron... Cron is just so full of himself that he never would be able to back down and realize that he's not really special or anything. He's not even much of a pretty-boy like me... He's just dominating and that's what causes him to rule. And he doesn't want the power to go somewhere else."

Jasna nodded. "I've flooded my house sooo many times... I can't even count the number of times Mother's had to have the house pumped since Daddy died... I just throw tantrums or get upset and cry. Before you know it... Everything's wet."

Blaze sighed. "I wasn't talking about Cron. I was talking about what Kaen said."

Kaen snapped out her flame. "I nearly killed everyone in my village. I just can't contain my anger, and it comes pouring out as fire." She stopped for a moment. "I don't even remember what happened. I just spun out. My neighbors told me that I'd gone on a rampage, pouring black fire off my own aura." She shook her head. "I'm an exile for it. Being a fire starter was bad enough, being a deadly uncontrollable firestarter was the final straw. Ice villages can't stand when freaks show up." Her tone turned bitter.

Burner shrugged. "I didn't think you were. What did Kaen say that threw you off?"

Jasna said, "I left. Because I couldn't stand it anymore. Mother was going insane trying to take care of me by herself and Daddy's dead... And everyone was too busy feeling sorry for me to realize that I'm not the type to need consoling. I don't want their pity. But they shoved it on me anyway. So I got frustrated. And came here."

Kaen smirked at Jasna. "We're a bunch of runaway teens with 'superpowers'!" She laughed, it sounded much kinder than when she was making fun of Cron and Jay. "Fate dragged our crazy asses together, guess something interesting's going to happen."

Blaze sighed. "I think she said something about a 'princess of fire.' Any idea of what the hell she meant?"
