The way it works is this, the actual name "World Champion" means more than "WWE Champion". The latter is the champion of a company. Besides, even when the World Heavyweight Championship wasn't a part of the the WWE, they still called the WWF Champion the World Heavyweight champion. Its all semantics.

No, that belt used to be called the WCW championship when it went to the WWF. in WCW, it was the World Heavyweight Championship, then there was the United States Championship, the Cruiserweight championship, the Tag Team Titles, the Cruiserweight Tag Team Titles, and at one point, the Television Title.

He did beat Benjamin for the IC Championship. I wonder why the WWE is giving Carlito such a big push.

You know what I can understand the reason why HBK did that to Hulk Hogan. Being under the lime light of some one who is just as great as you and you are the underdog can eventuall piss anyone off. Same thing with John Cena but Cena decided to take the rouite of not touching the subject but since Chris' ego is so big that is what fails him.
