 I feel dead inside, it's all due to you... But no matter what you did...
Roxas was on yet another planet, Hollow Bastien this time. He was sitting in Ansem's Labratory, talking to Leon on one of the computers. "I don't care what she's become, Leon, she's dead to me, she became dead to me the moment that she decided to swing the keyblade, one of the most sacred weapons of all time, at a fellow weilder." he paused, listening to Leon "Wonderland huh...?" he took a deep breath and then nodded and flipped the screen offline. Standing up, he looked around the lab and made a decision, regardless of the trouble he could get into, he was going to Wonderland....
Roxas looked at the bottle and cake on the table and picked both up, setting them on the floor at his feet before taking a drink of the bottle. He'd been to Wonderland before, and wasn't stupid, he'd be tiny coming back and would have to climb the table to get to the cake to revert him to normal. He grabbed a piece of said cake, wrapped it in tissue, and stuck it in his backpack just in case he needed it before leaving in search of Kari.
It wasn't hard to find her, she left a trail of annoyed residents. Finally, Roxas found her, and circled around her until he was in front of her, standing straight in her path. "Bet you're surprised to see me alive, aren't you?" he said quietly

One would think the forest would be hot, but it wasn't. It was covered with woodland creatures though, bizarre creatures.
"Recon mission, information. Woodland creatures are attracted to noise and movement. A surplus will come forth if much commotion is made."
Kari huffed and stomped on, leaving the long grass leaves tilting to the side instead of standing straight.
Her shoes were muddy, and all in all she just felt as if she had been walking around the forest for a while - even though it had only been thirty minutes.
"Woodland creatures appear to be bizarre, they seem to have some sort of unique abilities..."
Kari was looking back, her spine turned a bit while she still walked forward. True to her words the creatures were erratic, they were hopping around on their weirdly colored limbs and just spazzing.
And then she stopped and looked forward, hearing a voice that seemed gruff and unknown to her.
"Roxas."
Everything stopped, her breath, her thoughts, her heart.
It was like a weird dream, not even a dream because it was happening. She could see it, she could see him, he was right there in front of her.
"You're alive."
Kari felt estatic. He was really right there, it wasn't a dream.
With a sharp intake of her breath her shoulders tweaked back a bit. "You're alive."
She felt like some one had hit her with a snowball. The ice of reality had hit her right in the face, it was chilling. "You're alive."

Roxas' eyes looked at Kari and truly felt nothing as he gazed at her in her Organization robes. He watched the expressions flit across her face, the odd expression in her eyes as it sank into her that he really was alive. He gave a shadowed smile that didn't reach his eyes. "Yeah, despite a pretty nasty scar and weeks of recovery thanks to a broken rib from impact with your keyblade, I'm fine. Not to mention the concussion from hitting the ground." he pushed his long hair back out of habit, and a scar could be seen cutting across his left eyebrow in an angry line. He dropped his hands and lifted the shirt he wore, showing her the scar across his ribs, and the barest of indentations where the broken rib had been "Thankfully for me, Merlin found me, or else I would have been dead." he looked her over and nodded "I just wanted you to know, that I wasn't that easy to kill. And that I want nothing to do with the Organization, as far as I'm concerned, they don't exist to me." he turned around and walked away, disappearing into the forest

Her foot steps were hallow, in vein as they treaded a bit forward and pushed through the talk thick grass.
"Wait, Roxas, wait."
Her voice was mellow, even though she was calling out to him. For deep down she knew he was gone already, and that was just the way it was. Her voice called out to him in vain because he was gone, but she still wanted to call it out.
When was the last time she even said his name, let alone talk to him?
It felt good to whisper it out, it made it more real.
He wasn't a hallucination from being lost in the woodlands too long, he existed.
Everything else came second, the words he spoke to her didn't mean anything, just his face.
But after a moments pass and the realization - that he in fact was alive - his words dawned on her.
How harsh they were, very harsh for a boy who had kissed her.
But then it must be true, he didn't have a heart.
Who has time to think about that?
Kari put her hands down, letting the two giant thick blades fall into their regular straight aligned curve.
And then she turned around and started walking away. After all, she did have a mission to complete.
All the while his words still rang in her head, but she pushed them down. Her job had to come first, lately it was all she could do.
It was a rhythm to her now, do what Xenmas tells you, when Xenmas tells you.
If not, what else was there to do?
In the time that she was bored, when she was still for a singular moment, her thoughts would flood her.
The guilt of the Organization, the guilt of dating Demyx and the guilt of now knowing that she did something bad.
So she continued on, pushing back into the opposite way to find her way out of the rabbit hole of the world.
But she wasn't so sure she could find her way out of the one that she created for herself.
Two hours later and the portal had reopened for her. Now Xigabar had been the one to open them for her, the one to lead her back to the castle. Not only that be he had suddenly become one of her big supporters.
Now he cheered her on, quoting that she was doing good, that she was doing excellent and it benefited the Organization as a whole; that it kept bringing them closer to Kingdom Hearts.
Work wasn't too hard, but at the same time it was long. With Roxas gone heart duty had been latched onto her, she was the only one who could perform it.
So she walked through the portal and came through the other side, seeing the familiar sites of the dusty gray castle that she had become used to.
"How did your mission go? Well?"
"Yes, the heart collection was sufficient."
For some reason the praise she received from him bothered her, so she would just walk by and try to go somewhere else. But he always followed, questioning her more and more till he was satisfied with the answers. "And the creatures?"
"Bizarre."
"Hm, excellent. As already predetermined."
Kari nodded and strutted forward still, sighing as he persisted still.
"Another mission has already been lined up for you."
"Then I shall attend to it tomorrow," even though she gave a quick nod with this sentence she breathed out harshly. Sighing as he still followed.
"Understood, Kingdom Hearts is coming closer and closer. Soon you won't have to worry yourself with the petty affairs of heart collection."
Kari's eyes tweaked back for just a second, looking into his direction before fluttering back forward to look ahead of her. "I see."
And then he stopped following her, letting her climb up the stairs to her room in peace.
The almost completion of Kingdom Hearts meant another meeting with Sora, so now she just had to inform him.
Going up to her room, which was now in a different place - the upper library floor - she sunkered down onto her bed. Letting everything stop for just a moment and give her body a moments rest. She flickered from the sudden stopping in movement but quickly she got up again. Casting off her robes as she sighed and pushed open the window just a bit.
A few times she had gotten stuck, but most times she didn't. On good nights when it wasn't humid, she was home free.
So she squeezed through the pane and the glass, going out and clinging onto the side of the wall and vines as she had done so many times before.
It was child's play for her, really.
Kari slid down the wall, some of the vines ripping from it while the older ones kept hold.
From the moment she touched the bottom she just walked, not concealing herself for there wasn't really a reason to do so.
If questioned she would say that she was going out for a snack, going out to spy or do things in the town.

I feel dead inside, it's all due to you... But no matter what you did...
He'd argued with himself for hours after he'd left her. That it was a stupid idea, what if she told Xemnas... But he knew, by the stricken expression on her face, that she'd been horrified that he was thought dead.... And by her own hand none the less. He laid back on the roof of the inn he was staying in and stared up at the work she'd been doing... Kingdom Hearts... He sighed and closed his eyes. He couldn't leave it like that... He grumbled to himself from the moment he stood up, to the time that he landed out of sight of the castle in The World that Never Was...
He had no idea why he came here of all places, but maybe his instincts were right, maybe he'd find her here, probably not... Probably off on another mission already despite the short amount of time... He sighed softly as he stepped out of the ship, cargo pants riding low on his hips, a black button up unbuttoned over a tanktop and combat boots. He walked along, his hands in his pockets, long hair falling over his face. He wandered aimlessly for awhile before he finally stopped just out of the line of sight, looking up at the castle from the shadows...
Heartless Shadows swarmed and backed away, acting as though they were afraid of him. Roxas hadn't touched his keyblades, even thought of summoning them, since Kari and his fight... He couldn't bear to think of doing so... That might be why they acted afraid... After all, who wanted to be around someone like him, he was hiding what he was. Afraid to be human of all things... At this point, he'd have rather been a Nobody than be feeling everything he was feeling... Betrayal wasn't a feeling Roxas liked, or appreciated. He wanted to slit Demyx's throat for touching her... He shook his head and thought about being this close to the Organization... Brilliant idea...
Yeah, it was dangerous of him to be here, but still... He'd hated her, until he'd seen her again.... He sighed and his ribs ached, he groaned, holding one arm around his ribs and leaned against the wall. He caught a flash of color in the dark world and his eyes widened as he recognized Kari. He watched her walk, smiling faintly, and wondering what she was doing out so late at night...
He bit his bottom lip and waited until she was close enough to hear him without anyone over-hearing "I'm sorry for just vanishing on you Kari, but I'm still a little bitter, I'm sure you understand..." he paused and stood away from the wall, most of him cast in shadows "You tend to be a little angry when someone you think you're in love with, all but kills you and doesn't show a flicker of emotion when they do." Roxas looked away from her then, shrugging his shoulders to relieve some of the tightness building in his shoulders. He walked out of the shadows and up to Kari, looking down at her from a mere foot away. "Forgive me for what I'm about to do."
He leaned down, brushing her hair back and cupping her cheek with one hand, tilting her face up and kissing her, ever so softly. "Whether you believe, whether you care. I can, and do, love.... And nothing made me wish that your blade had killed me, more than seeing you with Demyx. Even to this moment, I want to slit his throat for ever touching you." as he spoke, his breath brushed across her lips in a cool rush of mint
"You may be able to walk away from me, but for some ungodly reason, you've tried to kill me, and I still want nothing more than to tell him you're mine. But you aren't. You never have been." Roxas stroked her cheek with one thumb and then released her, stepping back a few steps. "Although I guess, that doesn't really matter anymore.... Your mission is almost complete, which means the Organization wins, and none of it will matter. No craving for your voice will matter more than running for my life when Xemnas finds out I'm alive..." he stepped back again and dropped his head, back in hiding....

The moment had passed by quicker than she thought, but this time he wasn't gone; or not entirely.
But her feelings were somewhat mixed, and her heart and stomach were left feeling sick at the many words he had spat at her just a few seconds before.
"What?"
Kari sighed and shook her head a bit, looking down onto the flooring.
"What do you mean I almost killed you?"
She put her hands onto the side of her head and sighed, mumbling thoughts to herself.
"I haven't seen you for a while, and-and well, you were just gone."
Kari sighed once again and closed her eyes to think some more, beginning to mumble again and sort through her thoughts.
She growled louder, giving up on her thoughts before looking back up and stepping forward some to reach her hand out into the darkness.
"Explain to me, tell me what's going on."
Her hand waved through the shadows for a moment, trying to feel out Roxas in the darkness. "I don't remember it, just tell me what happened."

Roxas picked Kari up and carried her to his ship, setting her down once they were inside. "There's better lighting in here, and less chance of me being stumbled upon..." he turned away and dropped off the button up shirt, letting it fall to the floor before pulling off the tank top. He took a deep breath, turned and looked at Kari, showing the scar cutting across one eye and the far more angry scar that cut a nasty path down his ribs. "Kari... When you started seeing Demyx, it killed me... Whether you believe me or not, I'm in love with you, and seeing you with him, hurt me so bad... So I left temporarily, I went to Destiny Islands, to that house you, me and Axel stayed at ages ago. I sent Xemnas a letter explaining that I didn't feel I was going to be good enough in my current state, but it was too late, he'd sent you guys after me." he paused and took a deep breath, wrapping his arms around himself "You and Demyx came to Destiny Islands, and when you found me, you attacked me, the scars are from your keyblade... Axel took me to Merlin's door in the hopes that he could heal me, which obviously he did...." his hair dropped back over his face, hiding the scar again as he looked at her and then at the ground "Despite all of that, I wanted to hate you, so badly wanted to hate you.... But I can't... I can't hate you... You damn-near cost me my life, and I still can't bring myself to think ill of you..." Roxas sat down in the chair behind him and put his face in his hands, arms resting on his knees... He hadn't expected her to forget...

Kari sighed, getting irritated of their topic. They were talking about her - which was fine because that's what she wanted - but it wasn't of her memory, it was of their relationship.
She shrugged her shoulders up into the air, putting her hands into her pockets. "None of that matters," her expression became angry and sullen.
"If we're going to talk about petty topics then I might as well go, I have a meeting I have to go to and as of now, I'm late." She sighed and cleared her throat, becoming slightly impatient.
ooc;; sorry I didn't make this as long as I wanted it to be, but it's been a long time since my last post and I just got home from work so I wanted to give you something at least ;c

Roxas looked up at her and chuckled softly "You are incredibly impatient. But whatever. I just don't understand how you don't remember any of that happening.... It's rather fascinating." he shrugged and looked out of the windows of the gummi ship "You're right though, you should probably go soon... They'll be wondering about you, and I really can't afford discovery.." he sighed softly and looked at Kari for a moment before hitting a switch next to him. The doors opened with a faint swoosh sound and he gestured to the open entryway "You're welcome to leave when you wish, but don't be surprised if you don't see me again until after you guys finally decide you can bring down the Organization."

Her lips parted slightly, a low sigh passing through them. Guilt had gotten the best of her, but that seemed to be Roxas' specialty, making her feel guilty. "I'm sure we will, you have an uncanny ability to show up out of no where." Her elbow had sunk into the crook of her hip while she bent slightly, fingers on her temples. "But yes, I will be leaving, I am busy."
With her fingers still on her forehead her eyes stood open, looking about the ships flooring.
She herself had been confused on how she couldn't remember hurting Roxas like he had said. But she shook the feelings off, standing up straight and sighing in frustration at the sight of him; how had they driven apart?
Kari felt as though she should say more, but she didn't know what to say, so she just turned her back on him. Her shoes skidding slightly across the floor while she walked out.

Roxas leaned back in the chair he sat in, yeah, it was true, he did have an uncanny ability for showing up completely at random...
Or at least it would seem that way to the people he showed up around.... He watched her walk, and thought of Axel, he missed his friend, although they did keep in contact, it was a dangerous game to play...
Roxas sighed and put his feet up on the dashboard, looking up at the roof of the ship as he thought... He was tired of running, tired of the games this was making him play...

Hearing her shoes clunk against the ships ramp sounded weird, almost as if they were heavier than they actually were. Kari was only two large steps away from the pavement ground, and with each 'thunk' of her foot she got closer and closer until they finally met.
That's when she felt the biggest "thunk" of them all.
At first she thought it was her, maybe she had stepped too hard on the ground. But then that one mediocre thunk had turned into a great big one, and the whole earth rumbled beneath her.
The tremors were low, and then they all came at once a big feeling of an earthquake hitting her feet. Her eyes looked around, in front of her for a second, and then they just drifted around her entire surroundings.
Kari had curved her body a bit, feeling as if she was going to fall down, so she stuck her hands out to try and maybe catch her; but she didn't fall down. The tremor didn't reach that far, but it did hit a crucial point.
The castle had fallen, it had crumbled.
It was amazing in a way, she didn't think it could ever crumble. Of course it needed too, but it just seemed different; like a dream.
The top collapsed first, taking the rest of the castle down with it while the dust from the bricks clapped up into the air.
Her thoughts had fled to Demyx, to Xigabar and Siax; to all the people that were in the castle. And then to herself.
Had there been some sort of battle, maybe a surprise attack? Had the members called out to her?
It was suspicious that she wasn't there.
She stood straight, her body turning toward the castle and watching as it fell. Behind it the moon seemed so big, it almost seemed like a sad painting. Did Xenmas make it out, was he alright? His empire had fallen, what was he to do now?
And then she thought, 'when did I start pitying the villain?'

Roxas felt as though the world was shaking itself out of the sky... He stood and braced himself against the edge of the ship as he walked outside and partway down the ramp before he looked up, just in time to watch the castle start to fall... His mouth fell open as he watched it happen.... Kari stood close by and he looked over at her for a moment and then back at the castle. He watched for a long moment as a dust cloud poofed up away from the castle... He sighed and thought of Axel, clenching his fists as he watched the remains falling and the dust settled... He was worried about his friend.....

"What-What happened?"
It was the only thing she could think of to say, nothing else had formed in her brain for quite some time.
The cause had shown itself, a giant heartless that had bent straight up, standing over the castles crumbled demeanor before letting out a roar, its fist flying down to smash even the crumbs.
Kari let out a tiny scoff in disbelief, how could the great Organization fall down by a heartless? That is what they were best at, destroying things; destroying heartless.
Where did it even come from? Something that big had to have been under the eye of Xenmas for quite sometime, he must have known of its existence before hand; he must have.
"I don't understand."
Her voice sounded flat, she just couldn't wrap her mind around the very thought that a heartless had destroyed the Organization.
Months of planning had gone down the drain, had Sora and his friends heard of the disaster? What did they think?
The heartless stood up, screeching again before it moved forward, it's foot walking upon the dust of the castle. It made her heart beat, her thoughts race. Was it heading for the town now?
She didn't even think of what happened to the members, now the defenseless towns people were in danger.
"D-Do something!"

I feel dead inside, it's all due to you... But no matter what you did...
Roxas looked up at the giant Heartless and his mouth fell open in shock, he stood there frozen for several long moments. Once he heard Kari yell "Do something" he threw her a dirty look "Don't act like you're useless Kari, you can do as much as I can... But I've gotta find Axel." he summoned his keyblades and took off at a full run for the castle ruins....

It felt like he'd been searching for hours before he found Axel, mostly unscathed, just outside the rubble on the opposite side of where he and Kari had stood not that long ago as the castle had fallen to a Heartless' hand. He crouched by his friend, but got waved off with a grin as he helped him to stand. "Axel, I'm sorry for not telling you more, and for not keeping you in the loop... Kari's alright, she was with me when the castle fell... Will you help me with that?" he pointed to the Heartless and Axel nodded.
Roxas took a deep breath, looked up at the Heartless and his fists clenched around his keyblades as they walked towards it, Axel spinning one chakram around his wrist, streamers of fire whistling around him. The Heartless turned around, it's red eyes glowing in the shadows of it's own face. Roxas' own eyes narrowed as he looked up at the huge creature, his breathing deepened, and as he lowered his stance, the creature gave out an earth shaking snarl, followed by what was probably the most maniacal laughter Roxas had ever heard.
Roxas wasn't afraid, for once, he had no fear of something, this was something he knew he could handle... This monster stood before him, and all that stood between it, and the town was Roxas and Axel's weapons.
With a yell of his own, Roxas charged the creature, both keyblades ready to strike just as Axel did the same, flames erupting with every foot that hit the ground
