Luke's attention snapped to Jacques when the Zoroark reappeared, his tension dispersing as he came to understand that the sudden appearance was of an ally and not a foe. His eyes fell to the creature cradled in the dark-type's grasp, looking over its damaged form. It was definitely the Mew that he knew, though its matted fur and torn skin did little to assist with that recognition. They weren't really in a safe enough place with the time to spare to take care of those injuries, though, nor were they in a situation that afforded them the luxury of being able to turn back and go to a pokemon center. "Rosie," he said, turning to the named, "can I borrow a pokeball-- a heal ball?"

Giselle and Tenebrae

It wouldn't take long for the pokemon to catch up with the humans. The further then men ran, the more spacious the tunnels seemed to get, especially so as they burst into what appeared to be a room, freshly carved out.
A group of four more men were sitting around, one of them sleeping, while the other three played a game of cards.

"Get yo asses up!" One of the men barked as he broke in "somethings in this mine with us, it just attacked Gres."
Knives, Pokeballs, pipes and chains were gathered from the tables and floor of the room, as the group now doubles inside started back the way they came.

Isabella and Rem

The Thunder Wave that hit the Houndoom, causing the pokemon to cry out for a moment and more flames spilled from his mouth, but before the attack ended the Houndooms muscles started seizing up, stilling its movements and effectively paralyzing it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ray watched as Jacques reappeared holding the legendary, a slight frown worked over her lips, but she didn't step forward to crowd it, as Luke seemed to be taking up the position to offer it help.
Besides, Ray knew they wouldn't have much time.
Looking around at the available trainers. She pointed to the two she didn't know, and, Lin, Akira then to Sera Her mossy eyes passed momentarily over the young girl holding the Jirachi, but the human seemed to be standing stuck in fear, Ray wasn't sure how much of a liability she would be if she brought her.
"You! The three of you, get your pokemon and come with me. She moved her glance down to the Leafeon by Akira as well "And if you don't mind, Its a nice idea but please turn the Sunny Day off, that's going to make us more of a target."
Again she gesture for them to follow, the women starting down the hall the men had gone down before she looked around to the rest of the group.
"They'll be heading this way, all of you get ready with your teams, And we'll get them from behind." She explained, throwing a wink at the three she had called to follow.
With that the women hurried in the direction the men had run.
Luke
The hall had grown quiet again with the paralyzing of the Houndoom, but that didn't mean that the fight was over.
Rosie was preparing her own team, feeling she had enough room to call out her Vahy'n. Starting to explain to her pokemon what they needed to do when she heard her name.
Looking up quickly her eyes widened as the Mew came into sight, at once she understood what Luke needed and why.
Pulling her bag from her shoulder the blond reached in to the spare balls kept in one of the pockets, picking out a head ball she hurried over to hand it to Luke.
"Oh my gosh." She gasped, "Why would someone..."
City kids
As the group of men came into view and began heading back towards the trainers, Giselle reappeared in front of them with a displeased shriek, aiming a Confuse Ray at the humans to attempt to slow their progress.
-----
Houndoom
Isabella snarled at her target, wanting to rip into him rather than battle him - and besides, her most damaging moves were dark-type moves, which would do little good against him. Instead, she moved to her trainer's side.
-----
"Jacques, stay here," Sera said with a glance to her Zoroark. While his abilities would be much more useful further up, he was kind of busy still and plus not all of them were moving forward - that pansy-a** girl with the Jirachi, for one, and the brunette couldn't help but wonder just why the girl had come in the first place when she was being so useless - so with Isabella and Agatha in tow, Sera hastily followed after Ray up the tunnel.
Tenebrae, watching the group from the shadows, frowned disapprovingly at the weapons that were collected. With a growled warning to Giselle, he leaped to place himself below the ghost for her protection, unleashing a shockwave of malevolent energy in a Dark Pulse.
---
Rem didn't wait for any word from her human, choosing to follow Ray and the trainer she had summoned to accompany her. She rather liked the way people twitched and squirmed under the effects of her Thunder Wave, and she looked forward to the opportunity to use it more.
---
Luke accepted the pink-colored ball that was passed to him, touching the Mew's head lightly to offer assurance and have its attention. "I know you don't like being forced to do things," he said, "but you'll feel a lot better inside here. Don't worry about anything, okay?" The legendary's honey eyes opened slightly, briefly, in acknowledgement of a voice speaking to it, then closed again in resignation. Taking it as a sign that the Mew didn't object, Luke activated the ball, drawing the pokemon inside. The capture was successfully completed with no struggle from the pokeball's occupant.
Luke's eyes lingered on the heal ball momentarily, dreading the effect the experience might have had on the shy, curious Mew that had helped him in the past. "It'll be okay," he said, looking to Rosie with a slight, weary smile. "I'll take it to a pokemon center later… It'll be okay."
Akira was about to ask what Ray meant about Sunny Day making them more of a target. But there was no time for that and he knew the others knew better.
"Happa, sorry," he told the Leafeon. "Forget what I said. You and Silly come with me. Yes, Silly, that's dirt. We're underground. Please just bear with it for a little longer," he pleaded with the dubious-looking Serperior. Eventually both pokemon were convinced to follow after their uncertain trainer, who in turn followed after Ray, Lin, and Sera. A Jolteon - Luke's? - also followed close behind, but Akira decided not to question it.
As everyone sort of... exploded into action; Gregson, as he wasn't sure what else he was supposed to be doing, tried to 'Sing' after the fleeing enemy, but was quickly stopped by Lin with a shake of his head. Not now.
The Houndoom was being taken down by others, which was good, as far as Lin was concerned, because that was clearly a fire type, and as angry as he was, he couldn't see how he could beat the thing.
Ray's invitation was welcome and he gave a short nod, holding up Moriko's pokéball. She'd be ready as soon as she was needed... and there was Gregson on his shoulder.
Lin gave a half turn and saw Jeeves, or more precisely Akira with Jeeves, not far away, before, confidence built up, he followed quickly after Ray.
Giselle and Tenebrae
Some of the thugs lingering in the hallway as the darker haired man started giving instruction to both human and pokemon.
One of them was hit full on by a Confuse Ray, and the result caused the man to stagger backwards, falling over his own feet and into his friends.
They hardly had any time to react to what was happening when a pulse ripped violently through the hall and smashed into the group of them, knocking most of them, human and Pokemon off their feet.
The pokemon were the first to react to the attacks however, one being an Umbreon that darted forward into the darkness with a Faint Attack on Giselle, and an Ekans spewing out an Acid into the darkness where Tenebrae stood.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Lin, Akira and Sera

With the three trainers moving to follow her, Ray pointed toward the other trainers "You guys are first round! You just count on us to hit them from behind."

One of her signature wide smiles overtook her face as she clapped her hands one, giving out a boisterous laugh before she spun around. "AHAAA I've been waiting for this!" A wink down at the Jolteon that joined them, a wide welcome gesture to Rem before she turned and took off.
Her long legs spared not consideration for the potentially shorter members of the team she had assembled, the Pikachi once again lighting the way down the tunnel as Ray lead them in the direction the group had run.

There were several times the tunnels branched off in different directions, each time they did, Ray would slow and take a moment to peer down them, obviously deciding on the one that would work best.

While Ray explored a particularly dark tunnel, the women moved away with the groups only light source, This would by no means leave the trainers behind her in the dark for a time, only... there seemed to be a second source of light, a dim glow from another corridor down the hall a bit more.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Nicolette
Having sat in her arms the entire time the battle had taken place, overwhelmed completely by the new and shocking and POWERFUL senses of emotions they had brought, but at the same time, in utter amazement by them.
Once it seemed to calm down, the Jirachi squirmed a bit to get out of Nicolette's arms, floating over instead toward where Luke was with a very small yellow pokemon... it was a pokemon, she was sure.
Her mouth fell open lightly as she watched him put it in a ball.
Why had they been trying to hurt that one? there was so much anger toward it, she couldn't imagine what it might have done... But what made the Jirachi wonder most of all... was that pokemon also from here?
The tall women was now moving off the way the men came. Amber eyes widened as she floated up quickly, staring off after them through the darkness, but able to see much more then the back that lay before them.
She felt it all, There was SO much in here.
"Wait for me!" she cried out, and hurried after Lin, Akira and Sera, slipping up right over Rem to stick with her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Rosie was feeling emergency glad for the first time that she happen to favor a pokeball that would do some good for the pokemon now within. And that Heal balls were pink.
Though physically Rosie was sure the Mew would be okay, she couldn't imagine the horrible things the little thing had been through down here.
"It will." she agreed with a smile back and nod of understanding. after a deep breath, Rosie straightened up, blue eyes drifting over the two pokemon she had out. "Are you two ready?"
Vahy'n blinked once, fanning her fins out, while Kiss threw her arms up with an enthusiastic "RAAAII"

Catching Ray's instructions and understanding the idea she nodded "Be careful you guys!" she called to them as they left, then with a start noticed the Jirachi flying after them. "Ah! Jirachi-" But stopped as it didn't listen to her.
She supposed the legendary was just as safe with the others, as she was with them.

Giselle floated higher at Tenebrae's warning so she could stay out of range of his attack, but the foe Umbreon's attack caught her off-guard, and she cried out as she was struck by the Faint Attack. While she wasn't as strong as Sera's other pokemon, she wasn't out just yet, and she flew towards the opposing Umbreon to use Pain Split.

While the second light source down the other end of the tunnel was intriguing, there was no way in hell Sera was going off by herself anywhere. Instead, she followed Ray as quickly as she could - all the while cursing how infuriatingly short she was - then paused near her. "There's light in one of the other tunnels," she pointed out, in case the taller woman hadn't previously been aware of it. "Do you think it's them?"

When the Jirachi left her, Nicolette willingly let go, though she was left with nothing to cling to and it made her a little more uncomfortable. Moving to join Luke and Rosie, the girl clasped and unclasped her hands, "What do we do now?" She had absolutely no idea what to do, and they suddenly had half their original number of people. Her heart threatened to beat out of her chest with how anxious and nervous she was at this point.

Tenebrae withstood the Acid that clung to his black fur, shaking himself reflexively and holding his ground as to near to Giselle as possible, watching her movements and following after her Pain Split with a second Dark Pulse. The dark-type attack wouldn't do a great deal of damage against his fellow moonlight pokemon, but it certainly wouldn't be without any effect - especially against the Ekans engaging him.

---

Rem easily kept pace with Ray, her expression as stoic as ever. Her impulsive curiosity carried her along with the flow, but she regarded the Jirachi, which she thought perhaps followed for similar reasons, with incredulity. The psychic legendary was a scaredy-cat, as far as she had seen.

---

Luke's team had been cut down substantially by the caverns: Tenebrae was hopefully still with Giselle, Rem had gone along with Ray and the others, Tartarus and Leste were too large to comfortably fight in the tunnel, and the Mew was, of course…

It was with some hesitation that Luke stored the heal ball at his belt; he felt guilty confining the pokemon, but he certainly wasn't about to send it out and ask it to fight. Instead he took his luxury ball into hand, releasing the contained pokemon and offering an encouraging nod to the teal Flareon that turned to him for instruction, "We're the frontline today, Mieu. Get ready for it, okay?"

With an immediate understanding, Mieu raised his ears in attention, gave an affirming "faa!", and turned to moved to join Vahy'n and Kiss Kiss in preparation for battle.

Nicolette's fearful tone didn't go unnoticed, and in response Luke raised a hand lightly to her shoulder, giving his reassurance in a smile, "We get ready for a pokemon battle. It should go pretty much the same as any battle, but if it's too much, you can leave it to us." He knew Nicolette was still fairly new to battling and wasn't sure how much progress she had made in the time since she had started, but he certainly wasn't going to force her to defend herself if she was afraid.

As they raced down the tunnels, Lin had some idea of the plan, and grinned to himself, but stayed silent... Until they passed the faint light.

He wouldn't have gone off to investigate himself... Except that it piqued Gregson's interest and suddenly the little Igglybuff had launched himself from his shoulder and was toddling down in the dark toward it.

"Dammit! Gregson! Come back!" The boy hissed, then, with a groan, took off after the tiny pokémon.

[Ray, Lin, & Sera]

Not only was Akira shorter than Ray, but he lacked the stamina that she did and tired quickly. Rem, who had previously been behind, easily outran him. Still, he pressed on, his Serperior urging him forward with persistent nudges from behind. Supercilious wanted to get out of this situation as soon as possible and enjoy those three days of promised peace.

When they finally stopped, the brunet was still catching his breath as he tried to ponder where the light source was originating from further down the tunnel. A pokemon, perhaps?

The Jirachi surprised him as it brought up the rear. Happa, too, seemed astonished by the Legendary's appearance, though mostly because he couldn't understand why it would put itself in harm's way when it didn't have to. It was in more vulnerable than the majority of the rest of them were, after all, especially without a trainer to direct it.

Then Lin's Igglybuff was running off and with it, Lin. Akira felt slightly better that he wasn't the only one in the group without complete and utter control over his pokemon. However, he was now in a dilemma. With Lin's pokemon, Jeeves, on his shoulder, Akira guessed the Snivy might have worried for his trainer and have wanted to go after him. He didn't want to leave Lin alone to face whatever he encountered in the tunnel, either. On the other hand, Ray had said to follow her and she obviously had some plan. To run off could have put that plan in jeopordy.

"Ray, Lin's pokemon took off," he informed the woman, unsure if she was busy with other things. After Sera's comment, he thought it best to mention things anyway, even if they seemed obvious. It was dark, after all, and what some might have seen may not have been as noticeable for others. "I'm going on ahead with him." If she objected, he had no doubt she'd be able to catch up with him to tell him so. In the meantime, the situation called for action and he ran after Lin with Jeeves still on his shoulder and Happa with Supercilious in his wake.

Giselle and Tenebrae

The Umbreon recoiled as he felt his energy being drained by the ghost's attack letting out a sharp bark as he did so, and nearly tripping over the fallen Ekens as another dark wave struck the pokemon.

As a new wave of attacks started, there was a continuous stream of pokeballs popping open, and four new pokemon were released in front of the team, all glaring at the two attackers.
three more Houndoom, eyes blazing, and glowing mouths dipping open with the threat of a deep inferno , alongside a an Arboc coiling up from the ground, the hood over its neck spreading out wide as a think stream of hissing drifted smoothy from its throat, a spitting sound and its fangs bared at the attackers.

"LIGHT THEM UP!"

The Houndooms leaped forward and from each of their mouths blew forward a wall of flame at Giselle and Tenebrae.

The Arboc Would join in with a Pin Missile while the Bidoof, picked himself up, glancing toward the unconscious Girafarig, having taken two dark type attacks that it could certainly not withstand.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lin Sera and Akira
Ray paused at Sera's comment, glancing back over her shoulder and staring at the three as Akira added that Lin and his pokemon had moved.
Not seeming in any particular hurry Ray stepped back into the hall.
There was a moment that she stood in silence by the other trainers, not just staring at the light source, but hearing the faint sounds of battle echoing from much farther down the mines, if Ray knew the sound of battle, and boy did she ever.
She didn't let them linger long as she looked to Lin hurrying after his baby pokemon.
"No... No its not." she answered Sera's question.
A sharp gasp escaped the small legendary that had decided to follow them, hanging in the air in dead silence before she reached her hands out "Its there... its there!"
She seemed both horrified, and excited, it was hard to tell one over the other, but whatever the reason she rushed forward to investigate as well, only to stop dead once again "Wait! Stop!" The Jirachi suddenly cried in warning to Lin and his pokemon.
Lin
No sooner would Gregson get to the doorway that a sudden rush of fast moving mud would slap out at the pokemon and its trainer.
"Quaaaaag" a voice from within said with warning, though it wasn't the only one, as the action seemed to raise a number of other voices, all of pokemon, and all sounding scared and confused.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

In the quiet of their waiting, and the preparation set aside with the soft concerned voice of the younger of the nobles.
Rosie regarded the girl quietly as Luke stepped over to offer encouragement.
She could understand what she was feeling, it wasn't all to unfamiliar to Rosie herself, even though she's experienced something like this before, more times then she would have liked, that feeling never really went away.
Fear, uncertainty, a longing for the darkness to just go away and for something better.
It wasn't for everyone, that was something Rosie was deeply aware of, and she worried that the young noble girl would regret this decision to come with them, she was still so new at pokemon, she hoped this wouldn't scare her away from it.

Thankfully Luke knew just what to say, as he usually did, and he was right.
Rosie perked up, reaching a hand out to the younger trainer "Just trust your pokemon, like you always do. And trust your friends, we'll be right here, okay?" A bright smile tried to pick up her honey gaze.

Vahy'n stepped over to sit next to Nicolette, her tail coiling around the girl's legs and golden eyes peering up at her with a gentle purring noise.

Tenebrae was used to playing with fire from his days spent training with Mieu, but it was inevitable that he would be worn down eventually if this went on for too long, especially with the introduction of the super-effective Pin Missile to the fray. He changed his focus to the attacking Arbok, countering with a Confuse Ray, and spoke to address Giselle, They'd gone ahead to scout, after all, not to battle. Besides, there was probably an advantage to be gained from funneling them into the narrow caverns.

---

Rem trailed curiously after the small group that split off the investigate the light, unsure of where would provide the better opportunity to do interesting things. That direction was quickly taken out of the question, though, by the appearance of what she recognized as a ground-type move. That right there was a resounding nope, and she performed an about-face to return to Ray and Sera.

Jirachi, Pokémon/ Akira, Ray, Sera

Gregson wasn't about to pause, even as the Jirachi called out... Lin, however, was getting better at listening to the strange Legendary- as... strange, as it was, it did seem to have a small inkling about what was going on, and it was the reason they'd come here, really...

"Oh cr--"
Instinctively, as the Mud came rushing toward them, he grabbed down for the baby pokémon, though he wasn't quite quick enough to avoid the mud himself, finding himself sprawled out in the entrance painfully.

Saved from the worst of it, Gregson let out an annoyed squeak and then wriggled from his downed trainer's grasp, narrowing his big eyes at the pokémon inside for a moment, in hurt confusion.
What had they done to them?!
"Buff!"

Jeeves had frowned when he noticed Gregson running off. Then he sent a vine whip after the Igglybuff, and Lin, but wasn't quick enough. He looked back worriedly, but was pleased to hear Akira notifying Ray, before he jumped down and headed after his trainer.
