The moment she read the training room she recalled what Lex had said back in the office. and a light frown pulled at her lips.
there didn't seem to be anyone around the area, but it was without question someone up here.
"I have Banette out." Faleen told Aulus, not looking away from the doorways as she spoke, but allowing herself to relax a little as there seemed to be no one approaching.
"Are you sure you want to try it out just yet? Maybe we should look around the other sections first and see if there are anymore hints as to what might have happened in there."
She didn't like the idea that they closed off the vents for some reason.

Both good points... and given the size of the lower floor there were probably multiple rooms off Housing, and there'd be a lot of dorms to check no doubt. "We could all head towards Housing and split off from there to explore whatever's inside," Aulus replied with a shrug, it wasn't like he was keen to get to another horror filled location... though Housing might be no better.

"Which way did that person go anyway? They're alive, they can tell us what's in Training with the right persuasion." And who was going to do the persuading? If more than intimidation was required he didn't think he could do it, not even to a Galactic... well, not to most Galactics. Probably. Maybe he'd feel differently once he laid eyes on the owner of that voice. Maybe he'd feel differently if he hadn't just been back in that room.

"I like the 'finding more hints' idea..." Tambrey piped up after a moment- the last time she'd wandered into somwhere without having a -really- good look around, she'd discovered an uncomfortable hammock.
At least that was a lot better than Aulus' finds so far, but still it wasn't something she wanted to repeat, especially if 'training' turned out to contain something deadlier.
"If that person's familiar with the place, I'd -guess- housing for now anyway? Familiarity with old lives and all that?" She ventured, cautiously.

Kailee heard Aulus' request and was juuust about to open her mouth when Faleen spoke up. Kailee was feeling all in all unhelpful. "Boo..." He voice was a whisper and her pokemon appeared behind her. She jumped letting off a little yip and then sighed giving her pokemon a little glare for startling her. "Why don't we have our pokemon watch the rear? That way we can focus on moving forward and they can handle situations if it comes up?" Well grunt status be damned. They needed to finish this mission and this nightmare would never end if they kept looking back.

She wasnt going to lie... she was kinda happy they were going to housing but then she thought of something. "Guys... what would make you want to seal the vents?" She frowned trying to think logically. "There is either... something in those vents... or they probably needed to keep the smell of decay out of the training area... right?" So her new guess was someone was still using the Training areas. And once again she wasnt envying the choice that needed to be made. There was no right answer on which way to go.

A lit area at last. Hayes entered it carefully all the same, breathing shallowly in the wake of the fallen corpse on the stairs. The air was a little clearer here, but the sickly sweet scent of rot.. lingered. Alphard had disappeared inside his jacket, hands over its nonexistent nose, and Binary and Switch tagged close at his heels, the latter walking with a stiff gait, bristled fur, and a rodentine rictus of revulsion. What were they doing here!

The blond took stock of the new area and the conversation going on, then cleared his throat. "I'm for getting more information - let's track down that guy. Someone have a Growlithe?"

Oh dur.

Aulus nodded to Hayes; "Right, good idea. No Growlithe here but Tortie might be able to track if nobody has anything with a keener nose." If she could smell much over the stink of rot anyway. "And yeah," he nodded then to Kailee, "small unobtrusive pokemon right at the back, then some larger ones in front of them. Makes sense. Char, keep to the rear." Hopefully there wouldn't be any more horrifying doors, his fiery friend had done really well at closing those. He'd rather have him at the rear though if there was the possibility of live, mad Galactics sneaking up behind them.

“I could have Spins and Howlback stay behind and hang from the ceiling,” Lex offered, motioning to his Ariados to remain in the area and on the ceiling. Death from above and all that.

Spins clicked, shifting his back legs and moved over to plant himself right above the elevator, and began to clean his front forelegs, nonchantely. No one would be using this elevator.

Howlback reached over, tugging her trainer into a tight hug of multiple leather batwings before clambering up the wall and set herself right in the middle of the ceiling. She wrapped her wings tightly around her, and stared at the stairs.

Lex gave a soft smile and kept near Glit, the plant pokemon’s scent clearing the air somewhat. Flatline gave a displeased noise, shoving his beak into Lex’s ear and gave a warbling noise as he got some attention.

Pokémon guarding the rear sounded like a very good idea...
Tambrey plucked a ball from her belt and hesitated.
No.
Not Neph. That was -not- a good idea.
She put the ball back and swapped for another, releasing Treestar in a flash of red.
"Tree, keep to the back there with the others, okay? Do whatever seems appropriate if there's trouble. Stay near Char."
The Bayleef waggled his leaf in affirmation.

Tama listened to everyone's comments about the Training room and how some didn't want to go in, but others still said they checked it. He moved to the door and stood in front of it, looking at it almost contemplatively. Finally he snorted. "Why go in the Training room? What could be in theirs that we don't have ourselves? There's no guarantee that it won't be wrecked like everything else here. I say we just open the door and look where we are, close the door and be done with it." He voiced, but doubted anyone would really listen.

When they mentioned having a rear guard, he released Hexus. "Watch our backs. Stay hidden... look like a broken pot or something." With his command, the dual-type floated to where the others were, sidling against the wall and phasing into nothing.

Returning his attention back to his team, he pulled out another ball, but looked at it questioningly. "I have a Tepig that can sniff things out."

"Tepig, good," Aulus nodded. "But making assumptions, not good. We don't have the luxury of deciding not to look because it might be gross or scary or even boring." If they had that luxury he wouldn't have opened either of the last two doors. "There could be anything in there, or through there." Like bodies. Decaying bodies. With maggots. "But we can deal with that when we come to it, hopefully with more information on our side."

After a moment of thought he fetched out his dex and texted around; 'Any advance on Tepig? I'll send Paul with the advance party, can string shot anyone found. Texting in case some bugger is listening around the corner, don't want all cards shown.'

Faleen stood and listened to the team's brainstorming before they moved on. a light tilt of her head wearing a thoughtful expression, listening, but offering no pokemon for the rear guard, as they seemed to have plenty, Her pokemon remained by her.
"I don't know how well following a scent trail will be if we don't have something for them to follow to begin with." Faleen pointed out "The smells in here are pretty overwhelming as it is for humans,"

Yeah head slowly tilted "We could stay out of sight and say we're returning with their commander Tethy's, and see if anyone responds." Though by the sound of her voice she didn't seem at all very serious about that plan.

In all honesty she figured it would come down to keeping their eyes open and looking in the right places.

Tambrey considered who she had left on her... With Gauntlet off being a ghost-scout, and Treestar aiding in the rear guard... That left two rather large flying types, her Lairon, and... Neph...
She shook her head at Aulus; she had no one that she considered entirely suitable for advance party, except her electric ghost who was already hovering somewhere about.

Kailee nodded and looked over the pokemon at the rear now. She personally felt better with pokemon back there. She glanced to Boo and the shuppet offered a comforting snuggle. She glanced from Aulus to Tama. "Actually i heard that Tepigs were used to sniff out truffles! So i would think they have good noses." She had her Emboar but he wouldnt take kindly to being told to crawl on his hands and knees looking for a scent.

She had her charmander or her Bulbasaur... both not good with scenting... unless it was supper that was... Sissy was almost useless at the moment. And her cubone... well he wasnt good for sniffing out people that was for sure.

Well now Faleen was talking and it was a bad idea? "I think, i know grunts arent supposed to think... but i agree with Faleen. While Tepig would be a good choice... its gonna be hard to scent anything through here... Now that we know there is someone alive we know to be looking right... So if... he did go down the training way... wouldnt all of us going into housing be a bad idea? Because then he could get away and we may not find anything to give us clues in housing? Not that im like... Training room Woot! But wouldnt it make sense to cover our bases?" She didnt mind being told to shut it as she expected it. But really... the guy could have gone either way.

Binary & Therac w/ Paul - night vis & motion sense

Hayes, too, offered no Pokemon for the rear guard, just a shrug when no Growlithe were produced; although he released a bright green Espeon, he gave it no orders and it pressed itself against his legs, forked tail twitching warily.

He listened and nodded in response to Faleen's point, and Kailee when she backed it up. "Good point, but let's try it - see if they pick anything up in here. If it bombs, we'll think of something else," he suggested lightly, and looked down at the Eeveelutions clustered near his feet.

"Any smells that aren't dead, and aren't us. Give it a shot, guys."

Binary trotted away from him, tail and ears held high with purpose. Therac looked up at Hayes, then hurried after the Umbreon on silent paws, sticking close to her side. The two Pokemon moved a little ways away from the group, noses twitching at the cold, still air.

Aulus shrugged again. "Let the Tepig out along with Hayes' guys, see if it can pick up a recent human scent that's not ours. If not we can head for housing anyway," 'And leave some pokemon to guard the stairs,' he added by text. 'If anything tries to go down, or comes up from below, we need to know about it.'
