The pain in his arm was pretty bad, but nothing he hadn't felt before. Still, this hurt pretty badly. Hey Jess... I'm sorry for yelling at you back there. Nanashi said to her af they arrived. The second few did, Sokea and Gin were already inside. Merek as well as the nurse Larina were there too, so Nanashi knew he was safe. Tons of other people were inside too, but they seemed to have been better off than Nanashi. As he would sit down, Nanashi would wonder about all this. The council of Eoana must have been way more surprised by this terror attack than others, since first sent these mercenaries must have done so with the intent to stop the ceasefire between the two powerful kingdoms. Still, he was losing a lot of blood, and staying over it would just hinder him more. You know... this kinda means I got new tattoos. Nanashi said light heartedly. He knew that it was very painful to tattoo a scar on him, but he was used to it ever since the cheek he had. You okay Jess? He asked, as he was more concerned for her than himself.

~ Arriving - Main Academy Building - Infirmary ~
Jesse had lifted her eyes as Griselda had asked if they were capable of making it to the Infirmary, but as the sounds of Shifter Vs Shifter continued on before them she just wanted to shut her eyes tight and wish she was back in her Dorm room... She was fine to walk...she thought, but it would all bank on how Nanashi was - and she wasn't prepared to let him go for a second.
She thought she remembered blurting out that Nanashi 'couldn't' - when he insisted that he "Could still fight" but it would quickly become apparent that his concern was soon drawn elsewhere - to her. As he reluctantly voiced for the others to continue the fight without him, Jesse would stand, offering her shoulder as a guide as he held his arm and they made their way back towards the Academy.
[ ~ Exit City Gate, Enter Infirmary ~ ]
The Fox couldn't remember talking the entire time they walked - at least, she didn't think they had... It wasn't until she heard Nanashi's voice, apologizing for shouting at her back at the gates that she would lift her gaze, her eyes focusing on him for a moment before turning to look around the others who had also made their way there...
Her large ears would flatten backwards - each and every time she opened her eyes, she was reminded of the horror they'd somehow survived... All those people around her were hurting...or dying...and she'd been able to do very little, if anything about it...
Returning her focus upon the Elementor, the Fennec Child would narrow her eyes, taking off her bloodied scarf and wrapping it around the wound that should have been wrapped back at the gates... How could she not have thought about it until now...? As Nanashi mentioned about 'new Scars' she would lift her gaze - that was just like him to try and make light of a bad situation and as she looked into his eyes, she felt her own tearing up again...
"I'm sorry I'm just so useless..." She lifted her palm to wipe away her tears, not realising that the blood from Nanashi's wound had already seeped through the scarf and tainted her hand...which she had then pressed against her eyes... She didn't want him to see her as a cry-baby, but with everything that had happened, she just didn't know what to do... "...I'm...fine, but you..." she bit her lip.

After Gannon had left to go help deal with all that was going on out in the City, Catherine could only try to compose herself... As much as she knew of her brothers strength, it was the fact she had watched him almost die once already and then this happened. Suddenly she was approached by the Nurse, Larina, who spoke in a calm voice, asking if Rin would like to help out by preparing some of the rooms for when more patients arrive. Barely ever uttering a response Rin would nod and start organising the mats the woman described to be used as beds in a number of rooms... It was all she could do to keep her mind from trying to picture the worst-case scenarios.
Time passed and then Rin's ear flickered to life as she heard people entering. At first it was Thanya who spoke of Gin's condition... Needless to say, that hardly helped ease the Shifter girls worries. But then in came Sokea... Alongside him was her big brother, all bloodied up. Whether or not it was his own or someone elses didn't change her look of shock at the state he was in. Sokea approached her to try and reassure her, but Rin payed no attention to his words immediately she rushed towards Gin and practically headbutted him as she clinged tightly to him. "Y-you big, stupid dumb... Dummy..! Can't you go a damned day without rushing into danger..!" She rambled and stammered, barely holding her tears back.
Just when she thought she could regain her composure, two more sets of footsteps entered and Rin would look to the door. One was a strange-looking boy who appeared pretty injured as well... Beside him was... "J-Jesse!" Her mind immediately snapped to the realisation that she had been ignoring her fellow classmate and friend the past few days while she just sulked... And today, she could have lost a friend as well! Rin moved from her brother and raced over to attach herself to the Fox Shifter, whimpering and sobbing at the realisation of just how many people she may never have seen again. "T-thank goodness... Y-you're not hurt, are... A-are you?!" At this stage, Catherine was too overwhelmed by everything that went down... And just had to vent every last bit of her emotions before she could calm down.

How the hell they’d beaten Nanashi and Jesse into the infirmary he didn’t know, and he didn’t care. Moving to the far side of the room, Gin leaned against the wall while Sokea announced to everyone, including his sister, that they were alive, albeit a bit bloodied and more cut up than they had been before. Looking over at his sister, he knew that he was in for it – Rin would not be happy with him, but there was no getting around it. There was no way in hell he would have let that cheetah shifter onto campus, not when he would have killed his family and friends.
Hearing Sokea’s words, Gin shook his head and closed his eyes in exasperation. “Too much, Sokea, waaaay too much…” He didn’t consider himself a hero and he hadnt killed ‘The Beast’, Sokea had, with his quick wit. But his love seemed to want to give him all the glory – why, he couldn’t fathom. As Sokea spotted his sister, Gin’s ears fwipped back and he swallowed hard. Rin didn’t seem to hear Sokea as she came over and nearly knocked the wind out of him with the force of her clinging headbutt.
Gin deserved everything she said to him and more. He had rushed into danger head first, but he’d done so to protect that Academy and to protect her and by the God’s he’d do it again if he had to! Gently stroking the top of her head and her ears, he sighed. “I’m sorry, Rin…” He didn’t have time to say much more before Nanashi and Jesse walked into the infirmary. Much to his surprise, Rin rushed from his side to cling to Jesse’s. He was glad to see that Rin was making friends and finding more people to care about – that was very important to him.
Sighing a bit, he looked to Sokea, who rested his head against his chest. Nodding a bit, he moved with Sokea to one of the free beds along the far wall – he wanted to be far out of the way if he could. “So much for detention, huh?” He said with a small smile as he sat down on the bed and leaned his back against the wall, his feet hanging over the side of the bed. He noticed poor Thanya, looking so upset over everything. He was glad to see that she was alright, but he bet she was wondering why she'd ever come to Eoana in the first place, given all the traumatizing events she'd been a part of since her arrival.
Looking at Sokea, he smirked. “I think it’s safe to say that we wont have to worry about fulfilling our detentions anymore…not after that.” Once Sokea was settled next to him, he leaned in and rested his cheek on the top of Sokea’s head. He didn’t know why the City had been attacked, bit somehow, he knew that this was only the beginning of their troubles…

Lelyna was lost within the endless vastness of her memories.
Lelyna’s mind was a giant library, or more of a labyrinth made up of libraries. Each wing held the memories of someone she had taken from and given to since her raiment had come to be. Each memory was like a book in those libraries– one that Lelyna could take off the shelve and delve back into whenever she so chose. Within each of those individual ‘libraries’ there were housed any number of memories, some only held a handful, while others were vast catalogues of events from times past. Each library held also held one or more doors that led to a new section of that of another intersecting library. These doors were all connected through her mind leading onwards and through; all the wings interconnected into a giant web-like maze. It was a strange thing to think of, a maze of the mind, an endless catalogue of memories, but it was the reality of her raiment and her situation.
As it currently stood, Lelyna was lost within that labyrinth of libraries and books and endless doors. Normally, she could merely envision herself in her own personal library, the one that house her own memories, and immediately find herself there…but now…it seemed that ability was lost to her, or at least not functioning properly. No, instead, Lelyna was left to wander the corridors of her mind…There was no way to tell the passage of time within one’s own mind, but even still, she suspected that she had been gone a long time…trapped inside herself.

Standing on the golden sands of a beach, a distant memory from her mother’s childhood, Lelyna listened to the rhythmic crashing of the waves. She savored the feeling of the sun on her face and the salty breeze against her skin. She was so tired; tired of wandering endlessly, tired of reliving hundreds, thousands of memories, good and bad. Witnessing the massacre at the fae village again had torn her heart to pieces. And thus, now that she had found a calm, serine memory to reside in, Lelyna didn’t feel inclined to leave.
But as she stood there, gazing at the waters, she heard a familiar voice, shouting her name – Rhysian. Gasping, she turned to look at him, only to see him reach out to her, as if desperate to grab onto her. But before he could reach her, he simply vanished. “Professor…? Professor!?” That had not been a memory…somehow, Rhysian was reaching out to her, shifting through her mind to find her and bring her back.
Swallowing hard, Lelyna turned away from the beach and ran for the door that led back into the labyrinth of her mind. “I’m here! IM HERE!” She screamed, her voice echoing down the corridors. Lelyna ran, for hours, days it seemed, screaming for Rhysian. She caught more glimpses of him but each time, he was just out of reach…
[ - Morning of the Following Day - ]
The first thing she heard was the chirping of birds. It sounded so loud in her ears even though she knew that their calls were rather soft and melodic in nature. The second thing Lelyna sensed was warmth on her forehead and her hand. Someone had their hands placed there, and their warmth seeped into her. As she opened her eyes, all she saw was darkness around her. Her body felt heavy and yet achy, like she hadn’t moved in some time. She felt weak.
Licking her lips, she tried to find her voice, but even as she tried to speak, all that came out was a soft squeak. Coughing a little, she grasped the hand that held hers and swallowed hard, her mouth dry and cottony. “H..He..llo?” Who sat beside her? Was it her beloved Mikhail? Or her brother? Perhaps Eyrli? She would only know once the one who sat beside her spoke.

She should have known that the one who was with her was Professor Rhysian…Smiling, she felt a few tears sting her eyes. Somehow, he’d used his power to help her out of the Labyrinth of her mind. Nodding at his words, she released a heavy sigh and nodded. “Yes, that is one way of describing it….” She whispered, her voice still rather raspy and hoarse.
Slowly raising her free hand, she wiped the few tears from her face, her movements stiff and a bit stunted by her lack of movement the last two months. She didn’t know how long she’d been unconscious of course, but she sensed it was at least a few weeks… “I feel…tired, which doesn’t make very much sense to me, since I only just awoke…
Rubbing at her eyes, she frowned deeply. “If only I wasn’t blind…none of this ever would have happened…Mikhail, Kayl, Eyrli…everyone must be so worried…” She whispered, swallowing hard past the lump in her throat. “I don’t know how you were able to find me…but thank you Professor…I had nearly given up…” Grasping Rhysian’s hand, Lelyna smiled softly. “Thank you…” There was no telling what would have happened to her if she had given up and stayed on that pristine beach…she might have laid in this bed forever.

Merek would not be the first person to be in the infirmary. He is aware that he still has patients at the infirmary, one in particular who has not stirred from her sleep. He needed to acquire ingredients to produce more medicine since their inventory has been running low. The attack from two months prior required them to use a lot of their medicine since they could not treat everyone with healing raiments. If he had done that, he could have died in the process. He still has not recovered entirely from some of the injuries he sustained from utilizing his raiment, but he has a job to do. He left his home early in the morning with his avian friend perched on his left shoulder to purchase herbs and other ingredients from the market. Eoana is still in a state of recovery, so some items were more scarce than others. He bought what he could, along with a white rose, before going to the academy.
When he finally made it to the infirmary, he looked around the room to see what is going on. Rhysian is with Lelyna, the woman who had not to awaken from her sleep until this day. Soon he will have to speak with Lelyna and see how she is currently feeling. Right now, he has to drop off the ingredients for the medicine and talk to Larina. She was here before he was, so she can tell him what has been going on before his arrival. Once he was close to her, he presented her with the white rose before saying to her,
"My apologies. I did not intend to be away from the infirmary for so long. Some ingredients were more difficult to find than others."

All is not well with Larina. That much is clear to Merek. He felt her shaking when she hugged him soon after he greeted her and saw the tears flowing from her eyes. It is asking a lot from someone to remain composed after all that took place and knowing that many are still in recovery. Needless to say, their job to look after people and nurse them back to health has not ended, and it is taking a toll on them. For Merek, it is something he is accustomed to given his life experience. Larina does not have the same experience that he does, and it is up to him to help her get through this. When she regained enough of her composure to speak without choking on her words, she told him that the patient Lelyna woke up from her coma and that she will be writing to those who have been worrying over her condition, most likely family and close friends. She made her way over to her desk to get started on writing the letters. Rhysian is speaking to Lelyna at this moment, and Merek did not want to interrupt them. It is probably too soon to bombard her with questions about her health. He should give her a chance to adjust to her surroundings and speak with someone more familiar to her, like Rhysian. He made his way over to Larina's desk and said to her,
"Do you need some time away from the office? There isn't an enormous amount of patients here anymore, so I am sure I can tend to all their needs. Of course, I would appreciate if you can remain here. "
