Chloe Clarisse Hufflepuff First Year Location: History of Magic (Thursday: 8:00am to 8:45am) Chloe walked into class and took a seat next to Newlyn. She had always been fond of history class so it never made her dread going on an early Thursday morning. However as the lesson started Chloe for once was having a hard time remaining focused on the topic. It was as if Newlyn and Chloe had swapped bodies or something. 'Brooms... my least favourite subject...' Chloe thought as she tried to listen to Professor Powell. Her mind was however wandering off so place else to other subjects that had a more greater interest in her mind. Taking down notes lazily she could already tell that she was going to have to ask someone of a copy of their notes to make sure she had everything. Chances were she didn't. Chloe however did learn one thing Professor Powell said the same thing every day at the end of every lecture. Man was that ever a strange thing to realize when nothing else seemed to matter. Great they were learning about brooms. Thought she did think history was interesting she did not think the brooms could actually be that important. She listened quietly to the lecture and wrote down notes. After she finished she started daydreaming.

I'm always screaming my lungs out 'til my head starts spinning Playing my songs is the way I cope with life Won't keep my voice down Know the words I speak are the thoughts I think out loud
JASLYN ADDYSON ROSS
|||Slytherin|||Pureblood|||First Year||| Jaslyn entered the class a bit late and only heard the end of his lecture, but brooms weren't very important in the sense of history so she shrugged it off. She took a seat by a window. She apparently wasn't very good at making friends since the only person she seemed to talk to was Chance. OOC:... Love interest: No OneLet's leave no words unspoken And save regrets for the broken Will you even look back when you think of me? I know to keep my hopes up high And my head down low They say They don't trust You, me, we, us So we'll fall If we must Cause it's you, me And it's all about It's all about It's all about us VERILY DAWN MCHALEN ELLIRYANNA LAURELIA MCHALEN |||Ravenclaw Beater and Gryffindor Keeper|||Pureblood|||First Years||| Verily listened attentively as the professor spoke, scribbling down quick notes in neat loopy handwriting. She glanced at Elli as the professor asked for questions and rolled her eyes at her sister. "You know one day I might not let you look at my notes." She hissed to her twin.
Elli rolled her eyes at Ver, her feet resting on the table and her chair leaning back at an angle. She ran a hand through her hair and smiled at the Ravenclaw. "You would never do that to me." She whispered back. Besides Elli knew almost all there was to know about brooms so this was an easy lesson at least. OOC:... Chance rushed into the classroom. He had overslept, if anyone would believe that. Really, he had been in the common room, reading and lounging about, and he had lost track of time. He quickly took his seat next to Jaslyn and began to take notes. Best appear like he was paying attention as to not get in too much trouble. He scribbled on a scrap piece of parchment and set it in Jaslyn's lap. Chance Hi Princess. Sorry I'm late. Hope you weren't too lonely without me. Alaric Fallrein Second Year Gryffindor ~~~~~~~~~
Alaric walked quietly into the lesson, sitting his stuff down. The Chamber of Secrets sounded very interesting, but also extremely creepy. That Slytherin guy wasn't his favorite. The house was fine, but the founder sounded like an extremely awful human being. He took detailed notes, illustrating all of the known events in the Chamber. ~~~~~~ Alaric had walked excitedly into the class on brooms. Alaric had always loved Quidditch and the like, and he didn't mind learning the background of it. Instead of taking notes he just listened, curious about the creation of brooms.
Eve Fallrein Second Year Slytherin ~~~~~~
Eve sat interested in her wooden chair. She could see the other Slytherins. At least one of them, Eliora, seemed a little too interested. Yes, the idea of the chamber was mildly fascinating, but still. The basilisk had killed or petrified a lot of people. It was a good thing it was killed. ~~~~~
Eve was strangely glad she could learn about brooms without being on one. She hated the things, she always fell off of them. This way she was learning about them ina safe, non-height-related environment.

Eliora BlakeFirst YearSlytherin Eli groaned and placed her head in her hand as she heard the professor start the lecture on brooms. She hated brooms, and they hated her. And, this lecture was going to be long and boring - she could tell. She dazed off. The only time she liked brooms was when she could watch Dominic fly. She sighed wistfully and smiled. ≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎ Grayson Powell History of Magic Professor Former Ravenclaw ≎≎≎≎≎≎≎≎ Now where did I put that wand?Grayson looked up from his book as he noticed the students coming in. He didn't know how long he had been sitting reading, but the effect was always the same. Usually it would end with him being confused about what was going on, but today was different. He was supposed to be teaching the class, and as usual, it left him a bit awkward as to how to go about it. He however decided to go about doing it the simple way. "Hello, class, and welcome to History of Magic. I am your professor, Grayson Powell. In this class, there is no wandwork, since magic doesn't help you to learn about history. Therefore, your wands will need to be put away." He stood, taking his feet from off the desk and faced the children directly. "History is a collection of events, as I'm sure you are all well aware of. However, these events help to shape the world around us. If not for the witch burnings of the sixteen hundreds, we would not have the Statue of Secrecy. If not for the crises of the last century, we would not have cooperation of all magical folk." He glanced around the class, letting his gaze fall over each of the students. "Now, can someone tell me, besides what I have stated, why history needs to be learned?"---------------------------------- Location: History of Magic Classroom State: Teaching OOC: ... ----------------------------------

~Yvette Tarot~ Gryffindor/First Year Location: History of Magic (Thursday: 8:00-8:45am) Yvette listened to the professor spoke in silence, trying to stay engaged in his lecture. History was not one of her strong suits. In her experience, it was nothing more than dry memorisation of names and dates. She tilted her head quietly in thought at the professor's question, silently raising her hand. "It provides us with our background.. Our legacy.. It gives us a sense of community, of belonging, and allows us to learn from our past mistakes.. that those that have come before us might not have suffered in vain..?" She bit her lip, hoping that her answer was adequate.

Peering around, she only saw two students, both Gryffindor, neither of them looking familiar to her. She was alone, practically. Sitting at a desk near the center of the room, she sunk down in her seat until it was her turn to speak. "Well, I think we need to learn history because... because it's just something we have to know. To do better in the future, we need to know about the past... Learn mistakes, know who did what, find a pattern if we can. Because sometimes history can repeat itself... Right?" She hoped what she said made sense. It seemed to be the same thing everyone else was saying, so it couldn't be wrong, could it? Somewhere inside her, a spark of doubt arose, and she sunk back down in her seat, willing herself to disappear. ❀═━┈┈━═❀═━┈┈━═❀═━┈┈━═❀ One step closer...

Of course, she was unsuccessful and only ended up pushing it farther away. Picking herself up, she looked around the room, blushing. Kara was grateful that the class was nearly empty so far. At least not too many people saw that. Reaching down and picking up her book, she took a seat and listened to the professor. It seemed as though not too many people were to keen on learning History. She could understand that. When she was back in her old schools, she hated learning about history. After all, who cared about what happened a long time ago.
Since arriving at Hogwarts, however, Kara was incredibly interested in this new world around her. She felt left out, having not been a part of any of this until just recently, so she thought of this class as a way for her to catch up with her knowledge. However, she didn't think she could answer the question better than the other girl had done already, so Kara deemed it best not to raise her hand. ooc: bleh~

Sebastian HarrisonFirst Year Pure Blood*********************************************************Sebastian took a seat next to Yvette. He listen to the professor and the other students talk. It seemed as if they had already cover all there was, and there was no need for him to rise his hand. So he sunk into his chair and fought back a yawn. this was so boring. To him at least there was no good reason to learn about history. Ay somethings were really interesting but most of it was useless numbers and facts that meant nothing. he looked around the room. his arms crossed. It seemed as if most of the students did not want to sit in and listen to a history lecture either. *********************************************************(OOC~) Wake up, This is no hallucination. This is what we have become, this is what dreams are made of.

David Clarisse Gryffindor First Year Location: History of Magic: Thursday - (8:00am to 8:45am) David wasn't excited or happy about being in history class. This was not his subject he left history to his sister. All he wanted was to be left sleeping. However he had to get up, eat, and then head to class so he could sleep in the classroom instead. 'Who needs to know this stuff anyways.' he thought laying his head on the textbook on his desk. He knew this class would be the longest he'd ever had despite it being no different in length than any other class. Status: Bored With: First years List of Knowledge: Progress OOC: ---
