[Room L- scent searching]

Tama listened to Faleen's words, but had also remembered Aulus' about making assumptions. Just in case, he released Saphir, shaking his head at the trail of snot coming from his nostrils.

When Aulus gave the command to let loose the pig, he nodded and dispatched the fire pig.

Saphir sniffed the humans around him to get their scents, but got a bit teary eyed from the aroma. As soon as he got the scent, nose down, he began his search around the room.

"I'm... not sure where you got that impression." Faleen said to Kailee's comment about grunts not being allowed to think. "If you have an idea feel free to speak up."

Leaving it at that Faleen, flanked by both of her dark types, returning her attention to the group, as they seemed to not understand what she had said and continued on with trying to use pokemon to smell someone out anyway.
her face flushed a little red, but she waited anyway.

Scenting pokemon

Without being familiar with the scent they were looking for, the pokemon wouldn't be able to discern or identify any specific odors in the area, let alone with the stench of decay heavy in the air.

Sound, sight, smell... If she'd had a lizard 'mon, or a snake, Tambrey might have considered letting them out to have a go.
Scenting might have been a long shot, but you never really knew what a pokémon might and might not be able to detect- if only they had a scent of who they were chasing... Diffusing that from the other molecules wouldn't have been too hard for certain pokémon, like that Tepig, but, alas, they were a little unequipped.

"Sometimes grunts have ideas that can really benefit the team in a large scale way; thinking's definitely in." She agreed with Faleen, in response to Kailee.

[Room L - oh well]

Hayes shrugged when his Pokemon returned to him, shaking their heads and snorting to clear out the foul odors they'd inhaled. "Worth a shot. Sorry guys." The effort hadn't wasted much time. He recalled the Espeon and hooked his thumbs in his coat pockets as he looked at the group.

"Grunts who think become Agents," he chimed in mildly, and shot what was probably an encouraging smile Kailee's way.

It seemed like they would just learn the hard way what Faleen was tying to say, and regardless she waited to see the outcome.

Out of ideas, it finally just came down to moving on and staying alert.
returning her palm to the bottom of the sig she was holding. The Agent moved forward, peering into the next hall and looking around before she cautiously stepped in with her pokemon.

Kailee blinked, obviously surprised at this response. Her eyes traveled quickly to Aulus. From the times she had worked with Aulus, to the subliminally hidden fact that their opinions didnt matter. She looked away just as quickly. She glanced to her dex and nodded. Pointing Boo to the stares to stay there and watch. That way they could have eyes on the goings on without them knowing they had been caught.

Kailee saw Faleen's face and she bit her lip. This was never going to work if they didnt take everyone's ideas at face value. Like Kailee it made people feel less than important... unneeded even. So they had to make a decision to move now. So she was allowed to have opinions. General conscious reached she put her thinking cap on. They werent accomplishing anything by standing here. She moved to head in, following after Faleen.

Tortie sniffed around for a moment, lips curling, and then gave a shake of her head to Aulus.

"Yea, it was worth a try, nothing lost," he shrugged both to Tortie and to Alex.

After a few moments of internal debate he signaled the Absol back to the stairs and then a signal to 'wait' and 'watch'; he'd said somebody should guard the stairs and with her dark vision she was the best candidate he had to hand.

By the light huff she gave Tortie wasn't too thrilled at being left behind but she did as instructed anyway, padding down a couple of steps and then lying down uncomfortably so that she wasn't immediately obvious to anyone who might be rushing up or down.

"If nobody else got anything either let's press on," Aulus continued, letting Paul out and scooping the bug up onto his shoulder as he headed towards the Housing area.

Coming up to the door he put his back to the wall and nodded to Faleen and Kailee, peering in past them as they stepped through.

Lex motion to his Serperior to follow Faleen, and in turn followed the regal grass pokemon's tail into the next room. He kept a hand on Flatline's side, ready to order an attack and to have Glit throw up a safeguard.

Tama shook his head when Saphir just came back and flopped at his feet. "It would be nice if you reported a yes or a no." The pig looked up at him and shook his head. Sighing, he recalled the Pokemon back into the ball. "Well, didn't hurt to try."

When the others moved forward, he followed after him with his Pokemon.

Upon heading west towards the dormitories, the group would find a long hallway before them, its lights unlit, and towards the end of the hall some fixtures had been jostled loose and half-hung from the ceiling, some with dangling, dangerous-looking wires. Along the hallway were three doors, spaced quite a ways apart, each with something notable about them.

The door closest to the group seemed to be bulging outward slightly, despite its frame indicating the door should open inward. A plaque that read GRUNTS hung precariously from the door, looking like it might fall off at any moment.

In the middle of the lengthy hallway was the next door. Four spaces had been drilled into its surface, hinting that it likely had a plaque on it at one point, but the plaque itself was missing. This door stood slightly ajar, and the hallway beyond was just as dim as, if not moreso than, the one the group currently stood in.

The last of the doors had a plaque, this one bolted firmly to the door like the previous two likely should have been, and read COMMANDERS. While nothing else was notable about the door, except for the fact it was shut and locked, what the group would easily notice in the dim light was an unlit infrared sensor mounted on the wall beside the door that the previous doors lacked.

[N >> Looking into but not entering P]

Those wires did not look safe; Aulus stepped around them carefully, heart in his throat again as he took in the scene. Why was the door marked grunts bulging? He did not like that it was bulging, he did not like it at all. Nevertheless he indicated it to the team; 'Somebody send a ghost though.'

Other than that there was the Commanders room - and how he did not want to investigate that either! - and the open door. If somebody had been in a hurry to get away.... Creeping closer to it he put his back to the wall and peered though, keeping his flashlight off for the time being so as not to give himself away; it was dim but if anything in there was moving he might still be able to see it.

Tambrey moved quietly with one hand on Ella's pokéball.
The Lairon was not for stealth but if they needed to stop someone or something coming toward them (without absolutely murdering them, hence not Neph), then Ella seemed like a good intimidation and stopping power to have at hand.
She paused near Aulus as he decided to peer into a room...
She awaited his next discovery a little reluctantly.

Lex slowly walked the hallway, lingering at the grunts door, uneasy as the door bulged out. Please let it be just warped material. He approached the infrared scanner, idly waving a hand in front of the unlit light. Hmm. "Maybe we should go into the one that is open and see if we can fit a pokemon into the vent system to get to the other rooms?"

It matter what they shut the vents down for, to keep out the smell? To keep out small pokemon or people?

Aulus

His glimpse into the middle door's room revealed no movement inside the dark interior, though it was difficult to tell what actually was in there with just a simple glimpse without light.
