[Rook/ etc]

Pulse sighed and wilted slightly and perhaps he could have gone after her again, let her walk away and then attempted a supersonic or hypnosis and taken the pokeballs. It had seem cowardly and with his sneasel injured he wanted to heal her first especially considering the full on assault of anger the beauty had. He had planned to go to Camphoren and meet her at the poke center and take her out. Maybe hit up a bar.

“I ******** up.” He said finally. He had been excited and then it was a Ditto and his excitement had fallen. He hadn’t asked which direction or when, hourly for he had switched from legendary to can I prove myself by getting this capture? And he shouldn’t have done it. “Because I didn’t ask.” He had been more focus on snagging his objective this time because playing safe or the long game wasn’t cutting it.

And he was really wishing he had his crobat about now. Howlback was cuddly.

Slipstream huffed at Rook and hooked her hand in her trainer’s shirt in a show of support. She murmured, eyes slanted at the small women.

Adam looked thoughtful, and spoke softly, "I know. There are some really scary people out there. How about this?" Adam declared the last part, snapping his fingers and looking absolutely delighted, "My pokemon and I will walk with you, escorting you back home. At the same time, you take out your pokemon and all of them can play and walk with us?

"This way," The blonde continued, eyes sparkling, "Your parents won't worry, and we can talk some more? What do you say?"

[Pulse]

Rook's demeanor cooled rapidly in response to Pulse's sincere response. "Understanding why something goes wrong is the best way to prevent it from going wrong again in the future," she replied, her previous anger absent from her tone. "Any experience that you can learn from is valuable. Keep it in mind and let it shape the way you respond to situations going forward, and you'll gradually refine and improve your actions and reactions."

[Adam]

The young woman's eyes remained down, a somewhat worried expression on her face and her fingers fidgeting. "I-I know you must mean well," she said in a small voice, "but please, I've already decided. I'm just not comfortable letting them out around strangers. I'm sorry, but Mother's always told me that I should stick by what I feel is right."

Adam widened his eyes in shock and waved his hands around, "I'm so sorry! I'm not trying to pressure you, or anything like that. I just thought it might be fun. I have both mine out, after all, and I am sure that they'll folllow along just fine. Plus if there's an issue I can get them knocked out." Rubbing he back of his head, he smiled, "Plus, like... You gotta train and have them out so they listen better. If you always keep them locked away, they won't behave better. I learned that with my Growlithe..." He laughed and smiled sheepishly.

"Thank you." He said finally and settled well away from everyone else. He pulled out his dex, reading over the information and sent back a text.

He made a face, stroking over his curling hair. He just got the curls back and life seemed to be making sure he wasn't going to have long hair, ever. Pulse rooted through his pack, pulling out a long sleeve cotton shirt with a coiled up Serviper print and preceded to switched shirts.

When your disguise went south have a back up. He then probed his right eye as if searching for a contact and popped the prosthetic out and popped it into a handy caring case full of contact solution. He clicked the lid shut and opened another, sliding in a new prosthetic with the ease of someone that had done it multiple times. This one was completely purple, with no definable pupil, iris, or sclera. It screamed prosthetic and was the reason he fell in love with it. A quick prob of his left had him expertly hooking out a blue contact and popping it into a solution bath.

Identification, mainly solved... but it could be better. He had make up and it was rather soothing to apply it.

The girl ducked her head and spent a short period in silence, the atmosphere created by her expression heavy and tense. Eventually, finally, she gave a response in a mousy voice that shrank as she spoke, "It... I... I don't understand why you keep insisting that I let my pokemon out. Wouldn't it be easier if we just walked back? I-It almost makes me feel like... like you have some kind of ulterior motive... or like you only want to talk with me if you can see my pokemon..." She tented her fingers in front of her lips, partially concealing her face in her discomfort and embarrassment.

Adam grimaced at her words, feeling them hit too close to home. looking sad, he shook his head, "I'm sorry. I don't have any ulterior motive... I thought maybe if I kept like... I dunno reassuring you? Yeah, reassuring you, you'd feel better and trust me enough to know it's cool. Cause pokemon are like people and if you don't give them chances to acclimate to you, they never will. I wanted to help you, because I feel bad for having accidentally knocked you out with the hypnisus." This wasn't working. Adam was happy he wasn't a field agent, but this failure would look bad regardless, "I'm really sorry, Miss... C'mon, let's walk you home. It's dangerous out here."

[Pulse / Rockets]

KO read the return text and sighed internally. //Black it is and look on the bright side, you didn't lose any body parts this time smile ,// he replied flippantly.

"So about this Articuno," KO continued aloud. "Are we.. searching for it? I mean, I don't expect us to engage, but to give a location to base." Was it too late? He didn't know how fast those things flew but he was willing to bet that the answer was 'very'. It could be miles away by now. Personally he hoped it was.

[Returned Rockets]

There were multiple conversations going on at once now, so many people talking all at once, so Sync tried to simply tune them all out. It was difficult to do so for several reasons, the first of which was that he wanted to eavesdrop on whoever was getting snippy with the woman in charge and subsequently getting chewed out for it. What started as a a quiet laugh immediately turned into more coughing unfortunately, and the trainee frowned at his circumstances. It was just too funny -- all of them were too funny, and yet here he was, unable to laugh at them or say anything. Well, he could say something, but not without more coughing and aggravating his already burning throat.

Some repeated word caught his attention - ar-duh-coo-no, whatever that was - and he glanced around at the various Rockets that were talking about it. Was it some kind of jet or plane? A legendary what? Was it a Pokemon? His brows furrowed a bit as he opened a water bottle to wet the towel with again, trying to puzzle it out without risking another coughing fit to ask about it.

[Adam]

The young woman took a small step back, shaking her head lightly, "I'm very sorry, I don't mean any offense, but... I'd rather go back by myself."

[KO]

Rook took her screened device in hand and presented it in KO's direction for him to see its contents. The screen was divided into numerous sections - one showed Adam speaking with a young woman; one showed Zacharie, just barely visible concealed within the branches of a tree, and a boy with a large backpack; one showed Legretta embroiled in a fierce battle with a collection of pokemon, their trainer lying prone on the ground; and one showed Santela speaking with a young boy riding a Skiddo, the latter of which was pointing every which way. Six other sections of screen panned slowly over various areas of the surrounding forests and nearby mountains.

"My Rotom's up there," Rook explained with a gesture to the sky, "in a body specifically designed for wide area surveillance. As you can see, four of his cameras are tracking the Rockets who are still in the field, and six are searching the area for signs of the Articuno. If I can find some trace of it, I'll alert HQ so they can send out a team. We won't be going after it ourselves."

[KO/ Rockets]

He sent back, and found his makeup, pulling it out of the depth of his pack. His ever faithful and worn pack and started to apply it. Grey eye shadow first, then thick chunky black eye liner, black lip pencil and lip stick. He had decided on Goth and the motions helped a lot.

“If the ditto move list is the same as the articunos, it knows blizzard.” Pulse replied, it was the only move it had used against them. “And could the other two birds be on the move?” He questioned, more rhetorical but this was not the sort of area Articuno was known to wander in.

Articuno's kept to the tundra areas not temperate places.

[Rockets / Rook / Pulse]

"Oooooh." KO peered at Rook's screen with obvious interest, his red eyes darting from one scene to another with acute focus. "Now that's useful.... Do you need high clearance to get a form like this for a Rotom? I've got one myself, so plans for the future if nothing else."

Turning slightly to Pulsar - Lex - KO shrugged. "I suppose they could be, but it's only Articuno that we've had sightings of recently. There was on in the mountains by a couple of Agents... the other out in the plains I think? Both were a while ago now, but that in itself seems to tell us it's either settled here or visits often right?" KO looked to Rook again. "Do you know if we're anywhere near the area where the last sighting was reported?" If they were that might indicate they were near its nest or a favoured hunting site, and so that it would be worthwhile setting up cameras or something here. "If it flies around here a lot...."

[Pulse & KO]

"If so, not in Kodo," Rook replied to Pulse's wondering. "Articuno has been spotted intermittently in Kodo for several years. I believe the first time Team Rocket became aware of its presence was five years ago, at higher altitudes in the mountains." She continued, addressing KO's question as well, "The most recent sighting was last September, right around this area. Before that was April, on the plains. It's a little strange since they usually tend to take up residence in sea caverns rather than forests and mountains, but given that this is the third sighting within a little over a year, it may be safe to say that one has made its home here."

Following KO's change of topic, she answered, "Not so much clearance as, hmm... a combination of connections and status, perhaps. I had a variety of devices custom-made for my Rotom. When I was a grunt, I had a close friend in engineering who was kind enough to humor my conceptual designs. As I advanced in rank, I was able to put in requests to have them created as tools that I needed in order to perform my duties.

"Before you and your Rotom begin experimenting with machine possession," she said, "a couple of tips: First, by nature of what it is, Rotom can only possess a device if it, or a part of it, is motorized. Technically speaking, it possesses the motor; it can control only the rest of the machine because the motor is attached. Second, don't expect immediate mastery the first time the Rotom possesses a device. There's a learning curve, and it'll take a certain amount of trial and error for a Rotom to control something the first time it possesses it. If you ever want any help with your Rotom or with designing bodies for it, I'd be happy to lend you my experience."

Holding up his hands in surrender, Adam nodded, "I understand. I'm sorry for making you uncomfortable. Be safe, okay?" He nodded to her and turned, leaving the woman. Maki and Manny followed, the Growlithe clearly unhappy with the turn of events.

By the time they were out of sight and ear shot, Adam slumped and dug his hands into his pockets.

The Gastly spoke.

"Yeah, and that hurts the worst." He HAD tried to take her, and failed... And she had been so trusting and sweet. He felt like a creep. A failed creep.

[Cyclist]

( Oops! Sorry about that, duly noted. )

Stupid trainers and their quality materials! Legretta had just enough time to slip the knife back into her sleeve - and gasp a perfunctory apology to the cyclist - before the Dewott's head rudely intruded into her field of vision. That growl meant that this wasn't going to go well at all, didn't it? The pokemon's mouth opened, giving Legretta just a glimpse of the bitter cold before she shifted her weight off the cyclist and rolled to the side; she avoided the brunt of the ice beam, but not all of it. The freezing ray lanced across her cheek and ear, leaving the skin bright red in its wake. Legretta ground her teeth against a scream, tears springing too suddenly to the Rocket's eyes. It felt as bad as a burn!

The Eevee tucked and rolled as her teeth closed on empty air. "Ee..?" She looked around wildly for the ghost-type before hearing it overhead. Flying wasn't fair, she opened her mouth to bark - and then realized what was about to happen. Rebar pulled her ears down over closed eyes.

Acaiph spun after the successful attack, rounding in order to strike at the Pikachu again only to be blinded by the Shuppet's light. The Pidgeot keened a furious battle cry as its vision sparkled around the edges...and that cry lengthened into an angry screech when Pikachu's Thunderbolt struck the distracted bird.

Rebar let out a cry at the sight of her reeling team. Even her trainer was down! The normal-type ran over to the human, putting both paws on the hand that held the knife. The other one was pressed over her ear. The Eevee nuzzled into her owner's hand in support, only to feel it gently moving, pointing subtly at the belt the cyclist wore. The Eevee pressed her nose one more time into that hand, then wiggled over to where Rinpalim still perched on the cyclist's hip. Rebar growled cutely, as if to attack the Chimecho - who was also seeing sparkles, and quite obviously dazed - before darting forward to the last, unreleased pokeball on the trainer's belt and trying to Covet it away.
