NintendOmega Waynebrizzle Saw Coraline today. was pretty good despite some glaring plot holes. Plot holes? Spoilers ahead. 1: The mini doll of her was apparently a spy? Even though she knew what Coraline would look like when she made that doll a hundred or so years ago? Why does she need a spy now?
2: Speaking of the doll, Wyborne's (however you spell it) grandmother apparently "never" lets children live in that house. Why would you make an exception when someone who looks JUST LIKE THE ******** DOLL wants to in?There's more, but I can't seem to remember it. Those were just the two biggest "what the ********" contradictions. Maybe it's different in the book, but I thought it was stupid.

I found the entire sub-plot with the doll kind of weird because it didn't exist in the book. Same with anything involving Wybie. Not that this is anything new in book adaptations, of course.

To see the faults on her life, and make them better. Like her parents. Her wish to have a blooming garden. The "gloves" she wanted.
2. In the opening credits the doll is formed like the grandma's sister. The hair and clothing is removed, and shaped into Coraline doll. Grandma had the doll kept away, and probably never looked back at it. She didn't know the doll had changed form. As for the exception. There'd be no plot.
