Oh wait, I see what you're saying.
But still, how did she -get- the doll?

Maybe the mice dragged it over somehow. Since both them and wybie had access to it I'm assuming it wasn't hidden very well. But then how did Wybie never notice that the doll changed?
Edit: And then there's the question yet again of how she knew what Coraline looked like already. Unless she'd been around the doll before.
But if what Zeph says is true this stuff isn't the book's fault at least.

Anybody play Dynamite Cop? It was an old arcade cabinet from back in the late 90s. It was pretty much a Die Hard Arcade knock off. Good game, especially the weapons. You could kill someone with a mannequin, a giant tuna, their best friend, but my favorite weapon was the loaf of french bread. Each weapon had a set endurance level, and for some reason, the french bread lasted the longest of most of the weapons. I played through half of the game using the same loaf of french bread once.
I kept shouting "TASTE MY YEAST"

But if I remember correctly the whole house/doll business scares him. Maybe he hasn't ever gotten a good look at it?
