Yep. Goofy's indeed a dog.
And Pete's a cat, though that took me a while to determine a ways back.
And I remember in the Extremely Goofy Movie, Max asked him exactly why are they always wearing white gloves xd

I'm supposed to be good at noticing things. And solving puzzles. Pete's species is like a tiny puzzle. A puzzle I've failed at. I've put shame to my reputation. Edit: I have to go play Myst IV to remind myself that I'm good at that junk.
