Yeah, I guess I better stick to helping my friend get his RP Guild going. Things seem to be going pretty well so far though.

Cat69 1st - major traffic jam trying to get to work...took me almost an hour instead of 20 mins Traffic sucks heartily. There are times when living in a small town is great- until a train passes through the middle of it and blocks your path! evil Cat69 2nd - fire alarm @ work in the building connected to mine so had to spend 45 mins hanging around outside in the rain I work outside, rain or shine, so I know how much that sucks. Cat69 3rd - I get home and try to back into my garage aaand *surprise* my car won't shift gears and go into reverse. I had to get my parents to come down and help me push it into the garage - a nieghbour was in the garage area as well so he helped too. So.... now it looks like i'm gonna need a new transmission for my car gonk O_O ouch.

@ alwyn...ahh yeh i can relate to having trouble getting a job. where are you going to college?
@talon....luckily i don't have to deal with trains all that often. i usually split my time between field work and the office so i do get my fair share of crummy weather (especially being in Vancouver!) but i wasn't prepared to be outside for very long yesterday.
and yes...very ouch!! found out that i definitely need do need a new tranny so that's gonna set me back at least $2500 xp ahh well i'll survive smile

Ahh, transmissions. Boy. I drive a stick, so if something goes wrong, it's just as likely it's a problem I caused than it is some random car-related transmission problem.
But my car is 8 months old now, so I should not have problems for a while. The offside is that I have car payments to make for the next 4 years and 4 months....

Sheesh. I think the Car Fairy of Death made an international sweep last night, because it claimed our 1996 Caravan (With more miles than twice the circumference of the Earth), who, speaking of transmissions, has had two. How exciting.

I recall my stepfamily drove their minivan into the ground. Also, they kinda stopped making payments. rolleyes The only vengance is when a repo man came to take the van, the transmission literally fell out of the car. Yes, I said "fell out of the car".
As for my car, it is a Buick Skylark- about 12 years old. So far it is in decent running order, just got the oil changed and a fanbelt replaced yesterday.
Cat: Usually I don't deal with them all that much either. I used to, as I lived right next to an intersection . . . and state law says they have to blast their horn for a bit to warn drivers- as if the lights and barriers are not enough. Now I can hear them rumble by, but since I am NOWHERE near an intersection, it is no trouble. Yesterday was because I needed to get to work, and one had blocked off the other half of town. Cest La Vie.

Notice: due to extenuating circumstances involving HP, work, and finishing various things before I leave, I won't be on a ton for a week or two. I'll check in during work still, I imagine... I've been picking off threads one by one in any case.
Anyway. Yesh. And I used to have a handmedown car of sorts, but a dark night, a lot of rain, and a lightpole ended that.
