No worries, Gale. The purge is only directed at non-new members who have less than 10 posts. *really needs to continue with the purge soon*

How ARE people in here, by the way? I miss you guys. Especially Cobalt, Yoder, DTT, Talon (or Magni, as per name change), and Pandali, just to name a few.

Me? I was missed?! 4laugh whee
Blegh... The summer has become the days of me living at the computer while my parents are working... Been working on my main for WoW, drawing, RPing, and chatting with friends... all online..
And my mom says 'And then my daughter will have a social life!' when she talks about school, my japanese classes, orchestra, and then possibly bass tutors...

O_o Missed? I didn't know you and I were on such friendly terms- not that I mind at all!
I am rather well. Work sucks the testicles of many different animals and is very swelteringly hot- but on the other side, my edumacation is doing better than I could have hoped, and as you may see . . . I have a new acquisition! pirate

Look! I'm alive!
First note: Galvan can hopefully leap forward now, for I have returned, am no longer working during the day, and am finally in possession of at least a moderate internet connection (this weekend will hopefully bring the restoration of full connectivity). I also apologize deeply to the members of my neglected rp--that happens to be next on my list...
Explanation of the past week: (I apologize in advance for any tense mis-use, as I'm not up to par on that at the moment.) So at first my absence was simply 'cause I was busy running around Paris finishing things up. Everything started going to hell the day I actually tried to leave, though.
First off, in trying to drag my fifty pound check bag plus my also-heavy carry on bag down the three flights of stairs to get out of the appartment, the handle broke off the former. So I got to drag said bags (and don't tell me I should've packed lighter, I was there a month and a half for godsakes) a good half a mile to the station--while taking baby steps, for otherwise my shoes were rather forcefully dragged off my feet from the motion of the bags knocking against them. Then it started raining. Pouring, to be technical.
Finally got to the station and caught the train to the airport, only to discover in said airport that the rain had ruined half my books. I think I about cried.
Made it onto the plane. First flight was thankfully not that bad, aside from being long. Hated the guy next to me, but sitting next to him was still better than dragging all that stuff had been.
So we landed in Philly, maybe half an hour late since we had to wait for some other planes to land before it was our turn. I'm back in the USA, doing alright, happy that I'll be on my connecting flight and back home within the next five hours or so, going to see my family and boyfriend, eat some barbeque and sleep in my own bed...
Then the flight, originally scheduled for 7:15, gets delayed to 7:50. Then 9:20. Then 10:30. Then it gets canceled.
I happen to notice everyone getting up and jump in line. I'm only about ten people back from the front of the line, but when I finally reach the counter there is no good news left.
One: Because the cancelation is weather related, they're not doing vouchers for hotels. Two: the earliest flight they can get me on is the morning of the day after tomorrow.
You know, I really did not plan to spend two nights in Philly. Nor was the fact that at that point I was reaching my 24th hour of awakeness helping anything.
So, very nearly about to break down in the middle of the airport, I call my mom for about the tenth time already that evening and let her know what's going on. The next half an hour is spent alternately being comforted by the boyfriend and updated by the mother, who thank the gods finally finds a hotel (nearly all of them were full because of how many flights were canceled)...
I get to actually sleep that night, and my mom manages to find a flight back home for the next evening (so a little more than half a day earlier than the first flight I had)--the thing is, it goes through Charlotte first and I'm on standby for the second flight...
So the next day, instead of being home enjoying myself, I'm back at the airport checking in at a ticket counter once again. I finally have a stroke of luck--the manager there is one of those make-everything-better women and gets me a confirmed seat on my second flight. I just about hug her across the counter. By this point I am, suffice to say, a little tired of airports.
So I waste five hours until it's finally time for me to board the plane to Charlotte. Skipping over a few in between things, we finally get there, and I find my gate for the flight that will actually take me home. Then I discover it's been delayed...
But again thank the gods it actually left, even if we did spend a good hour on the runway waiting for our turn to take off. I was stuck next to a boy that wouldn't stop snivelling and ended up spending the entire flight just about going nuts (there are a few sounds that somehow make my brain just short circuit like that...). We finally land... of course I managed to be stuck behind a plodding little old lady on the way out, who I just about bowled over to finally get out of the damned airport...
*shudder*. Finally back home, a good twenty seven hours after I was supposed to be. I was so tired and cross it didn't really sink in though.
The following couple days were thankfully much more enjoyable, though since my laptop died in transit it wasn't till now that I could finally get online. Still kinda jetlaggy but feeling better ^^
Blahdy blah. So yeah. I'll be getting caught back up and all...
*hugs peoples*

*gluggles Merlinic* Oh, darlin . . . I've been there so many times it is scary. I completely emphathize with you, and can say that you went through one of the hardest things possible. I'm just glad that you are back.
As for Galvan, well, the best I can say is that word is reaching me of an odd mixture composed of one part pessimism, and three parts angst towards delays in it's startup. Any and all complaints are to be sent my way- and I will iron them out, got me? razz
Other than that, it has been the same ol stuff here. It is really good to have you back, though. As for your Laptop dying- was it just due to lack of power? Couldn't you 'sneak' a power outlet for long enough to keep you running? I would die without my laptop anymore. sweatdrop

*gluggles* I'm glad to be back too. And I don't think I'll be going near a plane again any time in the next year XD ><
For Galvan, though there are a few plot-related things I think Mello wanted to iron out, by far the most time consuming part is going to be finishing the editing/approval of the profiles. Which is somewhere around third on my to do list right now...
As for the laptop, I don't mean battery dead, alas. I mean broken-power-jack, would-work-if-I-could-get-power-to-it, dead. It is very sad.
At the least I'm going to have to find some way to power it long enough to get my files off; if I could actually find a real solution not involving sending it in for expensive repairs a second time, I might just keep the current lappy as opposed to getting a new one altogether. I'd have to rebuild some major trust with the old one though XD... For I lack confidence in it as of now ><

Awwww... *bakes MM a huge cake* Plane travel can certainly be hell. I've been there, too. It's so lovely when you get halfway across the Atlantic and have to turn back because there's a leak in cabin pressure... and then can't get off the plane because they landed for repairs in a different country than you took off from. Yeah. That was fun. And it made us (there were 18 of us, school group) eight hours late for our connecting flight, and it was hell trying to find enough seats to get us all home on other flights. >__<;;

Notice: Member Purge Progress: 20% Complete It would be going faster if not for the fact that Gaia's servers stop me from loading any pages after purging 2-3 solid member list pages (because of how fast I'm loading pages when purging). The GGN really needs an update so members can be sorted and grouped quickly and easily. It'd also be nice if actions could be taken upon members based upon them fitting into certain ranges (like automatically banning eyery member with less than 10 posts who has been in the guild for more than 1 month).
Don't worry, Jivudus, you're safe from the member purge due to the very fact that you are new. I'll be leaving the last 10 pages of the member list untouched (so as to protect all the newer members from the purge).
Wow, Merlinic, quite a harrowing tale. We're glad you're back safe and sound, though! *gluggles* Take your time with the apps. You have other priorities now (like getting well-rested and getting your lappy fixed).
