I'd love to see people try and learn Filipino/Tagalog.
You may not realize this, but even though you say the 'ng' sound a lot (such as the 'ng' in 'dang'), when it's used in an everyday language, it's hard for a non-native to speak it. I know my stepdad's been tongue-tied just trying to be able to converse with us in Tagalog.

Anyone ever played bi(multi)lingual word games like scrabble? It's awesome. We had a young woman from Russia playing with us and she goes "Guys, guys!...Is "gayporn" a word?" and we all started laughed "Why Alexandra? Do you have the right letters?" and she plops it on the board for like 100pts. It was ridiculous and we let is slide (even though technically it's a compound word)

Haven't played that kind of scrabble, but it sounds awesome! I once tried to play swedish scrabble with an english version of the game... it turned out to be quite impossible ^^;; The letters (specifically the amount of certain letters) were all wrong. Scrabble really is a hilarious game if you play it in the middle of the night with loads of very sleepy people, never heard more crazy words ninja
Mou means soft in french xD Mou, mol, molle... there ya go xP Well I took 5 years of french, but still only know the basics.

Hey!~ *high fives Mou*
I took 4, my first year, my french teacher said I had the potential to be a linguist. She said that because that year was when I immigrated to the states, and she said I had like above-average french pronunciation compared to the class, even though the only other languages I knew were Tagalog and English.
I know the basics, and then some. But I don't think it's anything to be proud of really, my 2nd and my 4th year of French sucked really badly.

Scarbble? hahaha that's a good typo, I like that one. Yeah, scrabble is really fun if: 1. it's late at night and/or 2. You're playing with people who can't spell to save their live and/or 3. You make up strange words that get you uber points.. "Catbooty" being an example.

We play the "fake" way where you can conjugate words (since it's more fun that way). Which means you can just put letters after already created words and so on... in the middle of the night it suddenly gets really hilarious to put a 'z' after every word lol

Hi everyone! ^.^ I just joined- Thanks for accepting my application. :3 I can tell that I'm going to like it here!
Last time I played Scrabble, it was in French. My teacher helped us come up with some words to put on the boards- But most of them were swear words! We all ended up in hysterical laughter by the end, since most of the board was covered in the word "Toilet" in different languages.

Yeah. It's like: "Hmm... I'm able to spell 'car' and I have some others letters that could make... Oh, look, I can make 'car-ing-s'!"
Welcome, Zythas.
