Most people don't have enough room in their mouth to keep them. Ah. Do you have any idea of what age this would start to rear it's ugly head? sweatdrop 17-25. If you get yours removed when I did, before they get roots, they'll be no sweat to get rid of. It's probably worse to have them, since there's a lot of s**t that can happen if you don't get rid of 'em. Wikipedia Wisdom teeth are extracted for two general reasons: either the wisdom teeth have already become impacted, or the wisdom teeth could potentially become problematic if not extracted. Potential problems caused by the presence of properly grown-in wisdom teeth include infections caused by food particles easily trapped in the jaw area behind the wisdom teeth where regular brushing and flossing is difficult and ineffective. Such infections may be frequent, and cause considerable pain and medical danger. Other reasons wisdom teeth are removed include misalignment which rubs up against the tongue or cheek causing pain, potential crowding or malocclusion of the remaining teeth (a result of there being not enough room on the jaw/ in the mouth),as well as orthodontics. Well that doesn't sound very pleasant either way. sad My surgeon explained how they do it to me in order to calm me down. I expressed to him that I was a little unnerved, but perfectly calm. He went on anyways. Apparently, they cut away a flap of your gums, fold it back, and cut a hole in your bone around the teeth. They remove the now cut piece, do wht they can to patch up the hole, and leave it be. The bone-hole then fills with blood, which, over the course of the next few months, slowly becomes more bone. It was not calming in the least. I was really calm through the whole thing. Even if you don't get knocked out, it's pretty easy. You don't feel a thing, and unless you're afraid of needles like me, you're not gonna have a problem with that either.
