"Yea Mokuba, it's me. I got your number from Yuugi," he stated mildly, before pausing, unsure how to press the next point. After a few seconds Mokuba started subtly prompting for an explanation as to why he'd be getting a call from Hiroto.

"Still here, umm, listen Mokuba I kind of have bad news. I'm at the hospital right now, waiting outside of the ICU...your brother's in there," Hiroto winced at what sounded like a very expensive cellular device colliding with the floor. Maybe he should have gone over and told the kid in person, now realizing that he'd dropped a bombshell on Mokuba who was probably alone at the moment. Hindsight, always 20/20.

The voices cut in and out, but they were real time voices, which let Seto know that somehow he had retained consciousness. Which brought to his attention an extreme amount of pain, enough to reduce even his proud self to hysterical screaming, were he able to even move a muscle. High levels of anesthesia, though unable to fully suppress his psyche and it's attachment to critical nerve endings at the moment, were keeping him veritably paralyzed. He was in agony and couldn't twitch a muscle. Why wasn't he dead already? This was unbearable, please just let it end, he thought deliriously.

It would be fifteen more minutes of gut-wrenching pain before his overtaxed mind would blissfully shut down on him. The absolute longest fifteen minutes of his life.

"Honestly I'm not entirely sure, I think, well there was this altercation in the park today that your brother accidentally got caught in the middle of," Hiroto began, able to detect Mokuba's confusion at these odd and vague statements even over the phone. He didn't really want to bring Jounouchi into this all now, so he thought it best to leave things a little unclear for the moment. He just needed to let the kid know the gist of the injuries and then have him get down to the hospital pronto.

"I think he also got hurt at the office somehow, last night maybe? Again I can't say I have all the details, I just kind of arrived at the park. Jou might know more as he got there before me, but he has some family things to take care of and won't get back until later. In basic terms he's suffering cardiac damage and clotting from some sort of untreated electrical shock, I think that's what it is. And then that park scuffle led to a rupture of some of the clots, internal bleeding, I can't say I have all the details. He's in ICU and I'm not family or legal counsel so they won't talk to me. I'll stay here though, and Anzu and Yuugi are on there way, so when you get here we can find out more and we'll do whatever you need ok? I'm sure everything will be fine, your brother, he's too stubborn to be floored by some silly thing like heart problems right?" Hiroto ended the long tirade, feeling slightly better by his own encouragement. Mokuba's limited response before ending the call dampened that a bit though. The kid had to be so freaked out, hopefully he would be alright getting himself here.

Needing a lift he punched in Anzu's number, immediately ending the call when he saw the petite brunette run through the door, glancing from side to side until she spotted him. He forced a smile and wave as she rushed over, thankful for at least this small favor of luck.

"Hey! Good to see you, glad you got here so fast. Mokuba, I dunno, he's probably not ok. Hopefully he'll get here alright. I'm kind of afraid to see him actually," he paused for a moment while Anzu interjected sympathetic nods and murmurs into the conversation. Continuing, "As for Kaiba I dunno. They won't tell me anything. I assume he can't be good, or else he'd have stormed out of here already. Though at the very least I'm sure someone would at least have given me a nod if he croaked."

At that moment Yuugi came bounding through the door, and the pair turned to greet their friend. On that thought Hiroto glanced at his phone and noticed a missed call from Jounouchi. Damn, he thought to himself. He had forgotten Jou would have course wanted an update on this whole situation. And because the only phone Jou had access to answer was the land line, he couldn't call him. Even during the best of times it wasn't a good idea to make a call to the home of Jounouchi Tetsuo, and this most certainly wasn't the best of times. He'd just have to wait for his buddy to call him back, and this time try and answer. Sighing he turned back to Yuugi, updating the pair about what he knew of the situation, though glossing over the bits concerning Jounouchi Sr a bit. Yuugi and Anzu weren't quite as informed as he was on Jou's home situation.

"I dunno about Jounouchi, I don't think so, I mean he has family stuff to take care of, though I guess if he can get away he'd probably want to come down, seeing as he was sort of involved. Anyhow he must have called me while I was making all those calls to you guys, I missed it, and I don't really have any way to call him back so guess we just have to wait and see on him," Hiroto explained, eyes darting to the door every so often. He wasn't sure when Mokuba would burst through, hell, he just hoped burst would be the correct terminology in this instance. He don't think he could stand to see a the lost dejection they might have to deal with. Basically he just hoped Kaiba would be ok

Tetsuo tossed the remote to the side and put out his cig. Turning his attention to nature's call, he made his way to the single bathroom in this abysmal abode, in which he found his son currently examining various bruise patterns in the mirror. "What the hell have you been up to?" he grunted, not particularly fussed either way, mainly needing an opening into kicking the kid out of the room. Katsuya stared at him in slight confusion, starting to speak and then thinking better of it. Tetsuo narrowed his eyes, wondering if maybe there was something he was forgetting. What happened last night, or hell this morning? He couldn't really recall. He decided he didn't care to know, so as long as the brat would leave him alone he'd let whatever it was be for now. Stepping into the room he said, "don't you have anywhere else you can be today that's not in my way?" He had cigarettes, he had beer and all the bills were paid through the end of the month. There was therefore no reason for him to need his son in the apartment, and hopefully the kid was smart enough to take the hint and get out.

"Hey Mokuba," Hiroto said awkwardly, both glad the kid had made it here alright and unsettled by having to face him. "No more news than what I already gave you, on account of I'm not family or legal attorney, so they can't tell me anything. I don't think you'll be allowed into ICU right now, but we can go find a nurse and hopefully his primary physician will be able to give you an update ok?"

"Yea sure," Hiroto agreed, jogging after Yuugi and Anzu who were hurrying to catch up to Mokuba. He glanced at his phone one last time before pocketing it, hoping that in this case no news really was good news, and that Jou hadn't gotten it too bad from his father when they got home.

The nurse, who was very sweet and polite, nonetheless directed Mokuba back towards the front, as the only thing she knew about Kaiba Seto was that he was not one of her patients. Hiroto could have of course supplied that information, but as he was neither sure where Kaiba's physician or any attending nurse might be, he didn't want to risk sounding condescending in addition to not being useful. Mokuba thanked the woman, but was nonetheless as a little huffy as he had to waste more precious time heading back in the direction he'd just stormed off from.

As soon as they had all assembled in the correct lobby, Mokuba began an intense pacing regiment while they awaited the appearance of Kaiba's primary. Hiroto hung back and let Anzu and Yuugi attempt to comfort and calm the youth. He pulled out his phone and sighed heavily, noting no missed calls. He didn't exactly have the best track record when it came to "trusting his feelings," he had absolutely none of that keen 6th sense Anzu seemed to wear in abundance. Still, it seemed logical enough to him that something had to be wrong, and if he didn't receive a call or some sign from Jou soon he'd figure out an excuse to bail and go check on his friend for himself. Without cluing Yuugi and Anzu into his worries of course, and after he received some further news about Mokuba's pain in the a** older brother. I mean if he was going to go hunt down Jounouchi he could at least get some semblance of news to take to him first.
