Server might be down for a few hours. I'm attempting to find better software that will make the server more stable.

Server is back up. Apparently there absolutely no other alternatives for SMP servers for some reason... The one I found that seemed to be an SMP server didn't work because it doesn't include binaries. Server's back up but stability is still crap...

Well servers down until further notice... Something got ******** up somewhere and I just got ******** volunteered to drive family somewhere. I'll get it back up as soon as I can. For some reason it suddenly stopped wanting to use the correct socket and I have no clue what happened.
Edit: Server is back up, the config file got screwed up somehow.

hopefully notch will get his buisness setup so he can get us better server software soon. admin tools and such.
edit: also those intrested i made a minecraft guild. yes i know its prolly a bit much. but this is huge man. this minecraft game will be bigger than WoW

I guess since you guys have a big issue with set rules, I'm willing to just change it to a common sense rule. New rules here.And Trenn, I heard you're having an issue with lag on your server. It might have something to do with the way the server handles memory. If so then you might want to check this out: My tutorial on increasing the allotted RAM for a server.It's helped my server quite a bit. Also, you may want to ban minecarts on your server or at least make it known that they shouldn't be used. On a SMP server they are extremely glitchy and usually can't even be removed. Something about the way they glitch can cause a lot of lag.

Guess I should note for people that I generated a new world for my server. I still have the old one if anyone wants me to upload it somewhere for them to download for singleplayer.
