Another song! This time, a theme of a more situational nature, rather than being specific to one character.

Karma - Bump of Chicken (Tales of the Abyss anime version)

On top of having full vocals as opposed to the English version of the game, this has a very good translation of the meaning of the song in the subtitles. Personally, it is one of my favorite songs, as it perfectly describes the relationship between Luke, the replica, and his original, Asch the Bloody, and speaks from Luke's perspective. The meaning is quite beautiful if you have played the game and understand the nature of that relationship, and at the same time the song feels very empowering.

I just thought I'd share this song with everyone for the sake of those who have only heard the instrumental version, and the people who have never played the game. Also to show that there even is an anime for the game, a 26 episode anime to be exact, unlike Tales of Symphonia's, which has only seven hour-long episodes so far, but looks like it will end up with at least 12 by the time it finally finishes. Also, when comparing this anime opening to the game opening, I personally think that the art is by far better in the anime. You can tell the people who drew it had a passion for the game, as their effort and style flourish spectacularly, making the characters look all the more amazing compared to how they did in the anime sequences of the game.

I also wanted to drop a little hint that to some extent, this song can also be used to describe my character's relationship to the final enemy of this story. twisted To some extent, at least.

And while I'm at it, here's the song, Meaning of Birth; the orchestral version of the opening song, which plays in Luke and Asch's one on one battle.

Did you know that the anime has officially been licensed for an English Dub, and that the game is also going to be ported to the 3DS? The game might not leave Japan, but I think the act in itself of moving it to a handheld console is impressive.

You're right. It wasn't a match to the death. Neither would have killed the other, but the one who lost would have inevitably died, since when Asch lost, he opened the door to let Luke past and was faced with a near endless army of knights. He received fatal blows just before defeating the last of them, and died thereafter. I'd bet that Luke would have died there too if Asch had won, but that's besides the point.

The battle wasn't a match to the death. It was a match to settle who they were, and who would be the one to face their Master, Vandesdelca in the final confrontation. Asch fought to settle who the real "Luke" was, and Luke fought to prove that he was his own person, and while they were similar in many ways, he was a different person with different thoughts and emotions. When Asch lost, he accepted Luke as his own person and handed the Key of Lorelei, the powerful sword that would be used to restore everything, to him.

The truth was that Asch was on a time limit. After a period of time, if Luke didn't die, then he would self-destruct and evaporate away, merging with Luke in the process. This happened anyway when he was killed before that "Big Bang" event could happen. That was his reason for making the fight happen. He knew he was going to die no matter what, and he knew Luke was the stronger one, but he wanted to prove it before trusting his will to Luke and accepting his fate.

Here's a video of the events before, during, and just after that battle. It'll help you understand just why that music is uplifting. It may be a bit overly cheesy, but it is definitely more appropriate or this battle than a darker more serious one

Also, how have the character drawings been coming along, Claided? I know you're in the middle of writing for the entire month, so I'm just wondering what your progress is. I expect that the novel is your first priority and you'll likely work on the drawings after that is finished.

omg! more tests to take, I dearly wish my teacher won't take a month and a half to post the grade up this time, that was a long time to sweat it out over whether I'd passed/failed.

...I feel bad for thinking this but...if the people in the Final Fantasy universe(s) ever celebrated thanksgiving....would they be eating Chocobos instead of turkey?!!! Maybe Cockatrice lol
