FREEDOM, OH SWEET 3-MONTH FREEDOM!!! SCHOOL IS OVER, I'M DONE, AND I GET 3 MONTHS TO MYSELF!!!

YEAH!!!!! Today for me.
What the project is interested more in is HABs, Harmful Algal Blooms. Think red tide, but not always red, and sometimes the red ones don't do anything.
If you see blue green tinge in the water, don't let your dog drink.

Woah that sounds awesome! biggrin I looked that up on Google and it definitely seems interesting to study. I figured something was fishy about algee (pun pun pun). Anyway, are you going across the world to study it or locally?

Maplestory turned their burning events so you can burn to level 150, not just 100. Welp, now I have a funded Dual Blade who is overpowered to hell, and my Bellocan main who is a Bowmaster will be ever more powerful, have maxed skills since I can get master books for cheap, and a total badass in general.

I'm loving summer. It's been 2 days and I'm in love already. Relaxation, video games, talking with friends, and just overall happiness. It's perfect.

Why?
PostPosted: Sun Jun 26, 2016 7:44 pm

"I never knew why," Vogath began. "You just always gave me the way... And now I--I can sometimes hardly feel your light..." He gripped the pendant which hung beneath his neck of a claw fragment which burned his slightly scaly hand. He closed his eyes and hung his head low.

"It's going to be ok," someone reassured.

Vogath slowly opened his eyes and turned to see Damerir with a soft smile on his face, and his slitted green eyes nearly glowing.

"You know Neros wouldn't want you to give up just yet," he said. He reached a human hand onto Vogath's shoulder, and awkwardly patted it. "His light hasn't faded completely. Though I have hardly felt it until recently, I--I feel it is still here."

Vogath nodded, and gripped the pendant tighter, then let it go.

"Damerir!!" someone shouted.

Damerir instantly jumped to his feet, his dragon tail flipping wildly as he raced away into the distance.

With a sigh, a girl with long red hair, soft as silk yet cool to the touch, and long dragon horns atop her head, frowned and slouched her shoulders. "It's been thousands of years, and he is still just the same."

Vogath turned to see her. "Turig, I'm afraid Mygar was harshest upon him. I know you have attempted to forget, but Maygar never let him do such a thing. Please, just because you've overcome the hardships through your new life of freedom, do not assume everyone else has."

She widened her eyes and raised her eyebrows. "But it's just Damerir! He only ever speaks to you anymore, and runs from everyone else! What gives?!"

Vogath shook his head, and turned away. "You don't understand... He senses Neros's light stronger than any of us do. Stronger than I do! He never knew what it felt like to live, and yet now, he's learning just how to do such a thing when in the midst of a war. He never knew trust! He was lied to until set free, and he's terrified of believing anyone! The reason he does not fear me is because he senses Neros's light channeled through me because I'm his chosen hero, and he trusts Neros not me!!"

Turig jumped back, and bit her lower lip. "B--but if you channeled His light, then wouldn't I sen--"

"Yes, you can. You've just grown used to sensing it, therefore it feels like anything else," he stated plainly.

"So you're saying Damerir......."

Vogath nodded once. ".........Can hardly even believe Neros's light exists," he finished. "It's a sad thing, but it's the truth. He has never grown used to the light, even after all this time..."

Turig shook her head. "I--I need to go talk to him!"

"I wouldn't advise it, but I have no reason to stop you." Vogath sighed, and bowed his head one final time. "Best of luck to you, my friend." And may you someday know the light is truth and guidance, Damerir.

I went to Six Flags again today, and it was a lot of fun! I got to go on a ton of rollercoasters I haven't been on yet this season. But now my face is full of sunburn...

Another interesting dream I had that inspired a short story I'm writing (I'm hoping for between 30-50 pages).

Kodan's parents died in a car crash when he was just a child, and since, he's been struggling to keep his job to afford his apartment in Minorik of the world Gariuk. He has 4 friends and meets each day with them at the restaurant right next to the beach (the entire town is a beach town).

One day, Kodan walks to the restaurant and sees there is a fifth person at the usual table with his friends. He looks absolutely perfect, almost too perfect to be human. His name is Tarnoth, and he keeps giving creepy grins to Kodan but nobody else. He claims to be in town for the upcoming surfing competition which is happening that night, and convinces Kodan to come by despite his obvious hesitation.

Kodan goes, and a strong storm is brewing. He sits in the "designated guest area", but the storm comes to shore, and he can't get away fast enough. Suddenly, he is taken into the sea and begins drowning, then hears someone calling to him.

A man named Riken, who is the god of the seas of Gariuk, says he needs a champion to decide the fate of the god of the seas, and he may either accept and train as the champion to fight, or turn down the option and drown. Obviously, Kodan chooses to accept.

Riken's brother is Tarnoth, and older than Tarnoth who believes he should be the god of the seas rather than storms. Riken is viewed as overemotional and easy to manipulate, which has lead to multiple downfalls in his eternal reign. Tarnoth had threatened to either overthrow his brother's kingdom which he could have easily done, or do the proper thing and offer a battle which he accepted. However, the champion who Tarnoth would choose would be given to the side of the victor, and be forced to do as the victor chose. So Riken agreed at the start he would never become emotionally attached to the champion so as to limit the guilt if they lost.

However, Kodan starts out hesitant, incapable, and unfit, yet trains hard to be able to succeed. Riken hardly speaks to him, never shows any emotion at all toward him, and only teaches him what he must. The days become repetitive and drone on in Kodan's eyes, and he sees the reality of everything. He was forcefully drowned, and required to fight a war single-handedly of a mortal against a god. His life was hard enough, and he didn't want any of it.

Kodan runs away from everything, and Riken follows closely behind, asking to know why he's been acting this way. Kodan refuses to explain, and hides away. Eventually, he is pressured into saying that his life was s**t before. He doesn't know how to solver math problems, the world's history or geography, or even how to read, because he could never afford an education since there was never any will from his parents left to him. Then, Riken explains how he's had to make countless sacrifices of his citizens of the sea, how he's watched everything he's worked for fade away, and hated it all. He tells Kodan that Tarnoth can take away his kingdom and seas again, and banish him for eternity, but he will never take Kodan. It's the first time he displays emotion toward the boy, and he promises to teach him to read and learn math, geography, and history.

However, the next day, Riken realizes his emotions have taken the best of him again, that his brother has set him up. He screams at Tarnoth saying he gave him a child he would pity so he'd never want to lose him, but wouldn't realize until it's too late. But Tarnoth laughs and says it's too late, that Kodan must fight him and that there is no turning back. Now Riken must watch as the only thing he truly loves and that can never be renewed will possibly be torn from him if all goes as Tarnoth plans.

I won't spoil the ending, but it's a really emotional story. I usually have a great life lesson in all my stories, but I never know them until I've written the story. But I've already planned this one out in my head. The morals of it are that you can never hide your emotions forever; desperation leads to success; and life is an experience that everyone knows, no matter how short or long, and everyone handles it differently.
