Lex shifted, legs widening as he sought to find his balance as the cave shook and the ceiling coated them in dust. Fun. He shook himself, flicking dirt from his cap and nodded. "What is the quickest way down?" He questioned.

They would be fine, he had Protect this time and quickballs at hand to make sure this went fast.

Kyle staggered to a halt at the trembling of the caverns, widening his stance as Roman reached his ribbons out to wrap around his arm.
his eyes fell the the stony ground when the Champion identified where it was coming from.
"We can use pokemon to break through the stone. can't we?" He said, looking up at his companions.

"Don't be reckless. If we break through the stone here, we might make everything unstable and maybe even cause a cave-in. Not to mention ruin habitats for who knows what pokemon," Shadow told Kyle once he'd regained his footing. They were supposed to be thinking like rangers, weren't they?

"There's got to be a way down deeper without destroying anything. Stairs, maybe, like we used to get down here." He looked to the Kalos Reigon's Champion. "Can you lead us down?"

Frost looked around, up, down, and then at his companions. "I cannot recommend trying to break through the ground," he put in softly. "I am uncertain of the stability of this cavern, if there are stairs near we should take those rather than risk bringing this down on our heads and indeed the cavern below."

Tambrey shook her head.
"None of mine are strong enough to break it fast enough, and I really don't think trying to dig into the midst of a battle, through solid rock, um, inside a cave... with a legendary, at that, is.. uh, a very good idea..." She had Ella, sure, but she didn't think the Aggron was capable of tunneling through a cave system safely, nor fast enough, for their purposes... "We do need to move quickly though; I think what we just felt confirms that even more than we already knew..."

"Oh, alright, whats better? wasting time while the Legendary fights for its life? Or making a hole in the ground? The cavers can handle a moonblast, it can handle a pokemon digging into the ground!" Kyle said with great exasperation to Shadow.

Diantha looked momentarily horrified at the thought of breaking through the ground of the cavern. Instead of commenting on it, however, the Champion pointed further down the path they were on, "There's a stairwell this way that leads down to the lower level. After that it won't be too far to find them, I'm sure of it, but we need to hurry!"

"Stairs, stairs are good. Going down through the floor sounds like a bad idea." Adam had caught himself against the wall and felt his bruises angrily cry at him. Terrific.

"Then we shall proceed," Frost nodded, setting off in the direction Diantha had indicted at a measured jog. Get this done, get it done efficiently, and he could get out of these clothes! He'd almost forgotten about them for a while back there but now the horrible collar was rubbing his neck again, and the sleeves were all wrong, and there was blood on it and somebody else had been wearing it!

"Lets not break apart the Pokemon natural habit, there are stairs, lets use them." Lex said and started off, rangers do not break stuff to get to the action any faster. And he rather not mess with any support structure in a cave and have it fall on his head.

Catching sight of the champion's expression, Shadow followed after her, but not without moving in closer to whisper an irritable retort back to Kyle.

"Everyone else seems to have common sense; why don't you? Can you guarantee the stability of this cave? It's not just a 'hole in the ground', it's a ceiling to what or whoever's down there! As a ranger, you should think about these things!"

"Even if the whole place didn't collapse, we might still drop tons of rock on people or pokemon below. And at least the Moonblast hasn't broken any crucial stone walls that we know of, but I wouldn't want to push our luck by making it worse!"

"We'll still get there in time to help Xerneas, don't worry," KO said, giving Kyle a brief clap on the shoulder before taking off after the others. What he wondered was whether Kyle was actually worried about something - not what he was pretending, obviously - or if he was just pretty good at acting. Could be either at this point and so he resolved to keep an eye on him, people did stupid things when they were worried sometimes.

"Don't waste your breath ranting kid, we're going now," he added with Shadow with a little shake of his head and a meaningful look behind Diantha's back, drawing the Champion's attention to their 'ranger' behaviour and or knowledge an or lack of was not smart.

If there were stairs nearby, that was good! Hopefully they were really near and they could get down there fast... Tambrey checked her pokéballs as they hurried along, finding Ella's anyway, more for the fact that she was steel type, and Xerneas was fairy, and she had Protect, more than from suspecting they might have to make holes in rock... Still, if for some reason they -did- have to make holes in rock... She could only imagine what Moonblast might do to the cave if it was used over and over... At least the Aggron could help there.

Clancy grumbled.
"So we ain't diggin'? 'S that thick? 's better be a bloody fast route down..."

Adam moved beside the ex-aqua, sighing, "Down more stairs we go." He was feeling nervous and talking to someone he knew relatively well would help, "You doing okay?"

Kyle didn't give two shits about this cave, or the pokemon in it. He literally just wanted to get this over with, because pretending to be a ranger and following this "champion" Around was starting to get on his nerves. Hell he would be tempted to break a hole in the ground just becasue he wanted to see something beautiful break.
He knew Jerome's Metagross could do it, and they had an Aggron, it would be simple.
breaking his character to shoot a dirty glare at Shadow, promising unpleasant things.

"Stairs it is, but don't blame me if it takes forever."
