Startled he jumped with a small yell, after which he turned to see Starjian and sighed "Um yes do you all have any books that deal with summoning, beast spirits, and creatures both mythical and real?"
He was amazed at the library he had not seen much but out of no where a guy teleports to assist him, it was amazing and Karasu being ever curious asked "How'd you do that?" once again his newness was influencing his questions but soon enough he would be aqquainted and know his surroundings enough to get around without getting say lost.

The door swung open; barely. To call the young man who entered skin and bones would be exadurating- he had enough muscle to lift the front end of any mid-sized sedan high enough off the ground for somebody else to change a tire or two. But he was far from buff. Hanging on his slim frame was a long grey duster, and underneath a shirt the same hue as his emrald eyes.

Working down, a worn pair of bluejeans were held up by a brown belt- off of which hung a pocketwatch and a set of keys for a motorcycle. There were no house keys. below his ancles, the jeans dragged on the ground, except for the front, where a pair of good-sized shiny black combat boots peeked out.

He glanced in one direction. He glanced in another. A low whistle escaped the young man's lips, and he meyandered over to a shelf. From what he could see, this place appeared to be well-stocked. Well that certainly is refreshing...

Allen Aharden, Harbringer of destruction, looked up when the door opened. His ebony wings shifted restlessly; his crimson eyes seemed to glow from beneath the soft spikes of black hair that fell across them, causing him to lift his head at an arrogant angle to be able to see with any clarity. He rose, he did not stand, there was too much grace for it to be just standing, and walked around the desk, his wings chafing at some unseen bond. Out of sight, his right arm was wrapped in delicate chains that would appear to be mere decoration if seen. His black belt, which had the marks where weapons had once belonged, was also twined with the delicate chains. He did not show that those chains weighed as if tons upon hs spirit--but tons he could have borne much easier than that.
"Can I help you, sir?" The man smiled in a friendly way, but a canine peeked out, and it was sharper than a humans, though not the spear that was a vampire's. He did not sharpen them, but as a Destroyer his teeth were abnormal.

Rowen did not look up immideately, but when he did the 21 year old reached up with one hand to push his blue-highlighted auburn hair out of his own eyes. The young man smiled in a friendly way, and shrugged a bit. "I don't know, do you have what I'm looking for?" Something seemed to be missing from his request; say, what he was actually looking for.

The young man may or may not have meant to pose his question as such, but asking about it at this point would just get a blank expression. The green-eyed man had just spotted Allen's wings, after all. There was a look of pained wonder in his eyes- like he was fasinated by their presence, but at the same time reminded of something sad.

He appeared unarmed, distinctly so, without even something which looked like it could be used to summon a weapon. There was no place for a weapon to hang or hold, nor was there any kind of bag on his person. Just his pockets, which at first glance did not seem to bulge in any indicative way.

THomas had finished his reading, and onl one thing was clear, that the attacker had been Alabaster, who worked at the library.

"Intresting."

He stood up, summoned his shadow unbrella again, and walked noislessly out of the room, going down the stairs.

"I'll scour every flour if I have to." he smirked, even if it wasn't a hit, he'd do this job 100%.

"That would depend on whether or not one of the Furies burned it up." The winged librarian replied, pushing his hair back with a far too slender hand: a delicate chain could be glimpsed through his sleeve, and for a moment it looked as though the chain hooked around his finger, but since it wasn't there a second later, it must have been imagined. He let the arm drop as though it were too heavy to stay at his hair. "I could check, if you'd care to tell me what you seek. Alabaster may have spared it." He seemed to smile at an inside joke, but between the spikes of black hair and the luminescent nature of his blood-red eyes, it was hard to tell if the smile reached the 'windows to the soul.' Alabaster and his Vices had a record of... mayhem, much like allen's own, but less organized.
At least the Vice's master wasn't filling the Library with pink roses, as Allen was. The winged-one ment to make it impossible for his boss to go anywhere without drowning in the flowers. His own kind of revenge.
Not to mention he still had the Pipe in his pocket... (though not the pipe fox.)

"Huh?" The young man blinked, then shook his head and looked up at the winged man "Ah, I'm sorry, I can't remember what I was looking for..." A look of distress crossed his handsome features, but it was gone soon enough, replaced by an embarassed smile. "Maybe if I wander around long enough I'll remember..."

Reaching to put the book he held away, the green-eyed man froze, then glanced quickly from the spine of the book in his hand to the spines of those on the shelves. The book was quickly replaced; and the slim long-fingered hand which returned began searching for something else to hold- maybe from a different shelf...

At any rate, it was clear the young man was quite comfortable in a library, did not find anything odd about the man who spoke to him, and was in a constant state of distraction. All of the interesting things about him, however, chose to remain safely hidden.

"As you will. Please keep in mind that the Tenth Sea Library only guarantee's safety on this floor and in the reading room at the top of the building, to get there you may take the express elevator in security as well." The Harbringer of Destruction returned to his desk and went to work on something. There was a very quiet clink, then a hiss of indrawn breath, as though he'd stuck himself with something very sharp, and then a thunk. From the position of his wings, it was a safe bet the last sound had been his head hitting his very sturdy desk.
Allen was close to breaking. The weight. the chains. The bondage of weakness on his very being...
It was driving him mad. Quite frankly, his therapist was sincerely the only thing between him and just up and vanishing. (Lily would have blanched at the thoguht of standing in his way, being well acquainted with his past by then.)
"If you'd rather take the stairs, I'd be happy to escort you." He called from where he sat bent over at his desk, forehead still pressed against the wood. When he could have his sword at his side, he felt almost normal. Almost like he was a Destroyer still, and not just a pawn waiting for his master's next command.

"Are you ok?" Some times- no, more then sometimes- often times Rowen was prone to ask stupid questions. Being the brilliant mastermind he was (some say the young man's IQ was at 150) nobody ever got irritated with him for it.

If Allen looked up, he would see a curious-looking green-eyed man peering at him from the other side of the desk, his head at an angle to be the same level as 'The Harbringer of Destruction' should the other man lift his head. There was actual worry in Rowen's expression, he was never a good actor anyway, and a surprising degree of innocence for one his age.

"If your head hurts I could... take care of it, for you." The pause my have hinted at more complex things, or it could just be that the newcomer was shifting his position so as to not loose circulation anywhere.

"Hm, the stairs would be nice, since I'm not a big fan of elevators- but you just said the elevator was the only safe way." Any normal person would have asked if Allen was bored, but Rowen was much more effective at beating around the bush.

The librarian did look up, reminding one strongly of Albel from Star Ocean: Til the End of Time for a moment. He smiled. "I'm fine, really. It's nothing unusual." The idea of this stranger being able to fix what was written in law and in his blood amused the Destroyer, if only because he knew it would be a futile attempt.
"The elevator is the only safe way," He confirmed, straightening his back as he sat himself up. "Which was why I offered you an escort if the stairs were your preference."
Either way, he would be vanishing through those occasionally very dangerous doors soon; he was itching for a distraction, and smiting some odd nuisance would be just the thing.

"So... you're bored?" Took him long enough. The young man looked thoughtful for a moment, even doing the cleched stroking-chin-with-hand thing for a minute or less. It had worked better for his father- Dr. McNeill had stubble.

"Yeah, I guess being attacked while traveling up to a room with a reputedly great view would be entertaining..." So evidently the young man had been paying enough attention to get that much. "But I don't know..."

Rowen didn't like to bring trouble to people. At the same time, this felow seemed to be begging for trouble; and Rowen really was the complaient sort. Passive/distracted, if you will. "I really could use the exercise."

Behind him, against the polished floors, his shadow flexed it's wings thoughtfully. The place appeared to be well lit (or at the least, well enough lit for people to comfortably read), and the lighting wsn't always condusive to full-shadowing. Now that they had some space, though, the shadow wings took full advantage of it. Rowen didn't notice- he had (more pressing) matters on his mind. "Will there be food?"

PostPosted: Sat Mar 10, 2007 12:58 am
"Not really." Which was true. He was in a kind of pain that was not expressly pain, the best solution for which was, well, utterly decimating the slightest thing that gave him a half-way good excuse. He blinked, then peered at the new-comer in a curious fashion. "I believe we got our roles reversed somehow. I'm supposed to be helping you." As if echoing the stretching of the blue-haired one's shadow, Allen stretched his wings out as far as he could indoors before settling them once again. He chafed at the restrictions placed upon him, even if he understood that, unbound, he was a greater danger to anything than any mortal could imagine...
But still.
Maybe he could race the elevator to the top floor...

Rowen gave the man a sceptical look- or at least, as sceptacal a look as the young man was capable of, then shruged. "Whatever." By the young man's standards, such behavior was generally indicative of boredom. Of course, part of that could be attributed to the character of the people he most recently hung out with, and part of it could be attributed to the fact that Rowen himself was a tad bored.

And hungry. "Is there food up there?" The question of 'who was helping whome' had been skipped over for much more important matters. Rowen had wandered into Byako that day, and had not eaten since the last town the young man had visited. The most important thing at the moment, at least in his mind, was getting some food.

"No... It's a library, after all. If you're hungry, I could have something sent here. The lawn outside is very good for picnics." He wasn't sure what time it was, since he was restricted, for the most part, to the Library and Tenth Sea grounds and wasn't fond of sunlight unless it was coming or going: it was hard to be dramatic with light pouring everywhere. his hand hovered over an old-style phone, much like one Cruella DeVille used in the Disney film, but somewhat less decadent in appearance.

Sano walked up to the very big building that he was assuming was the library described to him by Ven. After a deep breath, he walked in through the large front doors.

Once inside, Sano walks over to the front desk. "Hello, is anybody here? I'm here to return a book."
