	Yesterday evening my Mom informed me that my great-uncle has been put on hospice. He apparently has cancer ((I can't remember what type she said now)) and it had spread. Sad to hear.

	The problem with being sick is it makes it harder to recall what I was planning on doing. I was going to look something on Google and then I got distracted by one of the news articles featured on the opening page. Hmm... oh yeah... that's what I was going to look up!

	I wish we had other types of tea available for me to have here at work. All they have is black tea in the kitchen. I know our Activities director has some tea when they do their Tea & Poetry stuff, but she's got that locked away where I can't get to it. sighs

	Ooo... I found a stash of tea bags in one of her drawers when I was trying to find the camera. One of the residents must have been snooping through the Autumn/Halloween decorations (or maybe brought down one of their own?) while I was lunch because now there's a giant Scarecrow Witch plush sitting on the couch. She's even wearing one of our sticker visitor badges. xd I had to get a picture of it, just in case it's not there tomorrow when our Activities Director gets in.

	finishes reading article about a pet rescue not returning family's missing dog Always interesting reading stories like this, especially since we had a similar situation occur at our own shelter. This one, however, seems a bit weird, especially with the information provided in the article. For our case, the owner's dog had escaped his fenced yard; the owner at the time was volunteering in the fire fighting department, so he was not aware of his dog missing until when he got home sometime later (which was after our stray hold period). Not to mention, the friends who supposedly were supposed to be watching the dog didn't even notify him of the situation or something like that. A family had adopted the dog and some time later was when the owner learned of his dog's status of missing and wanted to get his dog back. Obviously there was some bittersweet moments going on there because the adoptive family had fallen in love with the dog... and apparently this hasn't been the first time that the guy's dog had escaped from his fenced yard. In the end, the adoptive family returned the dog... and guess what... the dog escaped the yard again and wound up back at our shelter. I don't think the owner came to get his dog again and the adoptive family probably passed on taking him in because there was too much chaotic memories associated with the situation by then.

	In regards to the article I was reading, the dog had managed to jump their fence, brought in to a place where its microchip was scanned, and the information on it was still the shelter's information (from where it was adopted). When the family learned of their dog's location, they went to get it but the shelter refused to return it. Guess they kept saying things like they were terrible owners and what not. Definitely a strange case, especially since they haven't been very cooperative when news reporters and the like called the shelter to get their side of the story (i.e. hanging up, saying they don't know what their talking about, etc.) From the information provided, the only thing I can tell that seems odd is that the microchip's information wasn't updated with the current owner's. With our shelter, when an animal is adopted, we usually take care of updating the information right away. So, it seems odd this shelter didn't do it too. Wish there was a bit more information provided on why the shelter is refusing to return the dog. Based on how the family is talking, it doesn't seem like a reoccurring incident.

	Even watching the news story video it makes the shelter's lady seemed like an oddball. The dog's family seems perfectly normal and their own dog looks perfectly healthy and well taken care of. I really hope things work out and they are able to get their dog back, and the shelter's lady won't cause them any more trouble. There seriously seems to be no reason for her to be acting this way. Especially to be sending such rude texts to the owner and being so dismissive when anyone (police and news station) tries to get her side of the story.

	looks over at cabinets after hearing noises coming from it Uh... what? opens doors a few minutes later to put away cleaner a resident was usingcoffee filters and plastic flower vase fall down out of cabinet Oh... so that's what that sound was.
