The Hunter Clan Casino (An RP)

Krinna held the roll of tokens with her mouth, but then sputtered trying to respond to Nia's comment.

"Whagh... Weth szat?"

Sitting back on her haunches a minute, Krinna took the roll of tokens out of her mouth and held it with her front paws. She didn't really have opposable thumbs or as good of dexterity as many other people/persons/creatures, but she could hold and manipulate objects far better than 'normal' cats could ever be expected to.

"What's that you said? This city has a mercenary system?"

"Oh yes."
Nia pulled out a notepad and leafed through its pages until she came to a few jotted notes concerning the Hunter Clan.
"Their leader, Desta Onsevine Took control of this casino a number of years ago.
Using the profits garnered from it she created the Hunter Mercenary system, a service where you can hire out jobs for a fixed fee. They have outlets throughout the city that attend to this."
She paused a moment to flip through the notepad for the correct notes.
"Desta Onsevine then created a private group known as the Hunter Clan mercenaries made up of people who work at her enterprises and 'poster boy mercenaries' that take specific jobs for the clan and give the group a more popular appearance.

Anyone can accept a mission through their system though it is the Hunter Clan mercenaries that get the special treatment."

"Don't know if I like the sound of that." Krinna sneezed her little kitty nose at the notion of a mercenary group that would play favorites based on member status.

"Well, at least they have some kind of system." she added, and then looked around at the casino to see if she could tell what sort of games they had there. "So, do we play something, or just look around a bit?"

The starune held his hands in front of himself and smiled pleasantly. "We hae many games, feel free to try them all if you wish. If you run out of tokens you can always purchase more, Try your luck and win big!"

Krinna nodded and looked at the roll of tokens in her paws.

"I don't know how to play any of the games. Are some of them easier than others?"

Nia glared.
"Just do not get to obsessed. These games can be addictive and people tend to lose sight of things in an attempt to win money."

Krinna twitched her whiskers at Nia, then squeezed both eyes shut tight in amusement. "Ah, I don't have much use for money, you know. I just want to see what the games are like. Maybe I could watch you play one?"  

[Sou Jara]

"Alright."
Walking over to a roulette table Nia bets a few of the tokens on 17 black. Which she promptly loses.
"I have never been good at games of chance in either case."
She looks down at her tourist.
"Do you want to continue l ooking around here or do you want to check out on of their mercenary centers?"

Now perched on the edge of the table, Krinna watched the game with interest.
She opened her own roll of tokens and divided them up between eight locations:
four different numbers each in red and black.
"I don't really want to carry these things around, anyway, so if I lose them all, I don't care!" she said and squeezed both her eyes shut in a cat expression of contentment.

Then, not really watching to see what happened with her tokens, she replied to Nia, "I guess I can come back later to see all the other games. How many mercenary centers are there? Is there one here at the casino?"

The Starune shook his head. "Unfortunatly our mercenary system is on the firtz here and you will have to go to another location.

"Oh, too bad." Krinna said, turning to look back at the roulette table. "Oh, did I win anything? If I did, you can have it, Nia. After all, you bought me lunch at the Plushie Palace."

Byako Random Event

Angry bank rollers are causing a riot at the roulette table after losing millions from poor judgment!

"Oh, brother!" Krinna exclaimed. She narrowly escaped being squashed into a black-and-white cat-pancake by a man who got thrown onto the table. She jumped from her place on the table to get away from the worst of the ruckus.

"Nia? Nia!" she called, navigating under chairs and between feet. Then she muttered, "Honestly, sometimes it's a nuisance to be around tall people."

She jumped up onto a nearby table and then to a shelf behind a dealer, where she could have a better view of what was going on. "Hm..."

Krinna pulled out her cat-sized bow and arrows and prepared to fire if needed. The only problem was she couldn't decide whether she ought to actually fire on anyone.

...and she looked around to see if she could spot Nia, but the armor-wearing reporter was nowhere to be seen. Not from where Krinna was sitting, anyway.

The rioters were really getting out of control. One pulled a penknife out and looked about ready to stab... someone, Krinna didn't clearly see who. But she shot a cat-sized arrow through the guy's hand, making him drop the knife. She pulled another arrow out and readied it. Meanwhile, the arrow she'd shot into the guy's hand disappeared after a couple seconds.

Aashar arrives at the casino and looks around at the chaos. after a moment of observation, he reaches into his bag and pulls out what looks like a pink bomb-omb.

"IF YOU ARE NOT FIGHTING, COVER YOUR EARS!!!" he shouts. it is barely audible over the crowd. he then shifts his grip on the pink object and manages to cram an earplug into both of his own ears, then he starts to focus.

several people who have been skirting the rucus put both hands over their ears. most of the malcontents are too preoccupied to take notice of his warning. the man who had been shot in the hand starts cursing and tries to find something to wrap apound his hand, even though the hole isn't life threatening.
