"Vince, it's a pleasure to meet you." He said with a slight bow. And that was the truth. There was something...interesting, about the other male that he couldn't quite place. "I suppose we should go check on our Pokemon." He hummed, smiling as he noticed that the dark haired man didn't fall more than few steps behind him. "Don't want them...." He trailed off, his attention snapping up to the Jirachi in the sky. "What is...?" He didn't have time to finish the though, as the van to their left gave a loud groan. "Get down!" Andre exclaimed, acting instinctively he turned and shoved Vince further away from the blast. It was weird, he thought as the vans exploded and the force launched him forward to the ground, he hadn't felt that instinctive urge to protect anyone since...well...Zacharie. His thoughts were roughly turned to the searing pain that suddenly erupted in his right thigh. "s**t." He hissed, ignoring the pain and covering his head for protection.

Fraener, having swooped down to grab Velencia before the explosions, hovered above the wreckage. He had a bit of glass sticking in his arm, but otherwise they were both unharmed.

Finally able to catch her breath, the girl pushed herself up with Aurora's help, looking back to the battle at hand. While she had hoped to reach the vans in time to disable them--which she was glad to say they had-- and to catch anyone that had been able to escape the other trainers, she now realized that it was probably safe to head back into the main fight, as it looked as though no one was openly attempting to still make a run for the vans.

With a small smile, glad that the trainers had been successful thus far in keeping the rockets at bay, the girl turned to her two pokemon, patting Thierry's neck. "Go back and find Sparky. Aurora and I will catch up once we make sure things are done here." Aurora's fire power was stronger, as were her claws. The Rapidash nodded and took off at a run back toward the fray, looking for the typhlosion.

However, the moment the horse had bolted off, Aurora's eyes widened, following the jirachi as it rose and the woman as she took off on her pigeot. Sensing immediate danger, the Arcanine threw the girl onto her back and bolted, only seconds before the green lights went off in the van.

The vans behind them exploded, throwing both the girl and arcanine in the direction the mighty pokemon ran and blinding both with the sands and heat. The arcanine's speed had only done so much, and both girl and pokemon were left completely defenseless as the metal burst just behind them.

The scream ripped from her throat was deafened by the sound of the catastrophe itself, her mind reeling in searing pain as flying pieces of the vehicle pierced her--most unfortunately, a larger portion of the van's side that lodged itself into her side-- and as her body slammed into the earth as the arcanine crashed into the ground elsewhere, separated from her by the initial force of the blast.

With that Dove's world went dark, and the sands around her began to turn red.

The battling had been going so well; it was much easier to see from there, with Petra, that the trainers were doing quite well for themselves against the Rockets. Until, that was, that the vans exploded. Luckily Alder and Petra weren't nearly as close, but still the champion instinctively turned to shove his colleague to the ground and immediately threw himself down after, hands over his head.

A minute or so later, Alder lifted his head, ignoring the small scrapes and cuts across his forearms from the small pieces of glass expelled by the blast. A quick glance told him that Petra was alright, so he stood instead, looking around at the trainers. "How is everyone?" He called out. This was much more serious than the sandstorm earlier, and the well-being of their trainer volunteers far surpassed the importance of arresting the remaining Rockets.

-----

Jacques had fainted a bit ago thanks to one of the pokemon, though Isabella still stood, but barely. The dark-type didn't get another chance to attack, unfortunately, as the Rocket vans suddenly exploded. With a sharp cry, Sera knelt down to the sand, her arms thrown over her head. She felt multiple sharp stings on her arms and part of her face as shards of glass flew past, but they stopped suddenly as Isabella jumped in front of her. The Absol didn't stay there long, however, as a large chunk of one of the vans flew outward and smashed into her flank, and the dark-type tumbled backwards with a pained cry.

As much as she wanted to, Sera didn't dare move until the onslaught of debris seemed to have stopped, and once it did, she lowered her arms and quickly cast around for her Absol, not even noticing as several shards of glass remained stuck rather shallowly in her arms. "Isabella!" It wasn't hard to find her, and the brunette hastened backwards a few feet to where her unconscious dark-type lay, a large, jagged piece of one of the vehicles pinning down and digging into her side, if the trail of blood seeping into the sand was any indication. Without really knowing what else to do, Sera quickly pulled out Isabella's pokeball and recalled her, then proceeded to sit and stare at it for quite a few moments, a cold worry churning in the pit of her stomach over her pokemon's well-being. Could they heal that at the pokemon center? Would it be like when she was shot? She would be okay, right? Isabella had to be okay. She would definitely be okay.

There was so much going on that it was difficult to keep track of, but it almost looked as though the point of disabling the Rocket vehicle was becoming moot with more and more of the enemy's forces being disabled. It seemed the unrestrained Elite Agent had a similar idea as she plucked up a pair of Rockets - only a pair; was she abandoning her comrades? - and started away at a speed Leste couldn't hope to match. The fact that the enemy was retreating, however, felt like a victory. And they were surrendering half a dozen of their own in the process, at that. Had they truly succeeded in driving Rocket away?

The awed curiosities were silenced by the cacophony of the Rocket vehicles bursting, hurling a collection of glass and twisted metal outward across the area. Stay close, he had warned, and the precaution retrospectively seemed a premonition. Overwhelmed by urgency, Luke took rough hold of Rosie, his hands ducking her head against his chest, and spun his back to the onslaught, kneeling on the ground to form a defensive shell with his person.

He had repeated similar motions earlier and had largely been spared, both by Perdy's protection and the relative mildness of the threat, but this time would not be similar. A small sound of surprise and distress caught in his throat and his hands tensed as the twisted and jagged form of one of the vans' doors struck at his back, drawing lacerations and snapping fragments of metal deep under skin and muscle as shards of glass spilled over him. There was a groan in his throat, a quiet, pained sound that he gave every effort to bite back. His awareness was restricted only to the knowledge that he had to defend his charge, an instinct that kept his posture stiff and unmoving even when the blasts had already ended.

Lin's pokémon were aware of the blasts before Lin was, focused as he'd been.
They couldn't do much, however, as Jeeves was light enough to be sent tumbling across the sands amid the debris, feeling little bits of glass and metal pepper him before he landed in the sand, dazed but not as hurt as he could have been.

Moriko had tried to act, as she had before, like a bit of a shield, but had been on the wrong side of the boy and acted a little too late, struggling to position herself as debris fell, after Lin cried out in surprised pain, shocked as a jagged piece of what might have once been a wheel pierced the back of his right shoulder, than emerged, to his horror, from the front.

Looking around, Yuri would see everyone with varying degrees of injury. He hadn't seen something like this since... well... since back then. And he felt his chest clench with dread.

However, his expression became horrified as he saw a bloodied form near one of the exploded vans.

"Tori!"

Quickly leaping over Link's prone form, Yuri ran to the girl's side. She was bleeding from well.. everywhere it seemed like. There was shrapnel embedded in her body and Yuri found himself at a loss of what to do. He at least knew enough to know that he had to stop the bleeding. Pulling off his shirt and tunic, he pressed fabric against the two most severe wounds he could find. One with each hand. Hoping to at least slow the bleeding.

"I've got injured over here!" Yuri shouted.

Then there it was again, this was perhaps the third time today! When everything seemed to move so fast that Vince could scarcely process what was going on. It seemed first that he and Andre were simply making their way towards everyone else, then what looked like the legendary Jirachi flew past, and finally Andre yelled for him to get down. After that, two massive explosions and then Vince suddenly found himself being shoved backwards as the shockwave from the explosion propelled them both towards the ground. However due to Andre's early shove prior to the shockwave, Vince was relatively unharmed, most of the shrapnel flying from the source of the explosions, it seemed to be the two vans, had missed him on his way down to the ground although a few had grazed his arms opening slgiht cuts.

After recovering from the shock, he rushed to his companion, who had, more than likely, saved his life. He was about to say something but stopped after seeing the injury he had sustained from the blast. Vince began to panic once more and immediately began to frantically flail his arms yelling out for help in the general direction he thought everyone was in. Although he wasn't sure if this would accomplish anything as it seemed the blast had caused everyone to have their own problems to deal with. Vince sat down next to Andre and began to think, was he supposed to pull the shrapnel out? No that would just make it bleed faster. "What about- ARGH" it was no use, he had absolutely no idea what to do about the situation, nor did he consider himself qualified to try any risky procedures that might end up endangering his life further. In the end, he decided that the best thing to do would be to ask the victim of the injury since he might have a better sense of what to do. "What...what should I do?" He uttered in a shaky voice.

[Luke + Rosie + Everyone, with permission to manhandle from Suu]

It wasn't often the world went like this. Real blood singing in your ears, every bit of you alive because you might soon be dead moments. He remembered it from his early teens setting fires with his steely determined mother, and next at the contest where the Agron had nearly crushed him. Now it was again, noise and fire and pain! The world went black, no half black and then he was lying on his back looking up at the hazy sky.

He staggered to his feet and looked around, tried to work out what had happened. Cars had blow up. Cars. He looked down at himself, saw blood. Shrapnel in his chest. Deep? Didn't think so. The right side of his face was wet and he couldn't see to the right.

What- what? His ears rang.

Triage.

He saw Dove's body lying near the blast zone and kind soft Dith shut down. Triage, preserve life where you could. If she was the only one with critical looking injuries he would have been with her in a moment but his mind didn't rate her chances of living long enough to get to hospital at first glance. Maybe she was already dead. Luke. He could help Luke.

Fumbling his first aid box out of his bag he stumbled hastily over to where the young swordsman was hunched over Rosie. He had no time to be gentle and he couldn't see on the right side and he could feel blood streaming down his face, but at least his mask was absorbing it and keeping it from dripping. His ears were ringing. Was he thinking properly?

"Luke, let go!" With some effort, Luke fought, he heaved the young man off Rosie. A few moments later Viktor staggered over bleeding badly and at a quick order from his friend and comrade he let a Yawn wash gently over Luke. Shaking his head and wiping his face on his sleeve Dith delved into his box for a pair of latex gloves and then padding to build up around the bits of shrapnel in Luke's back.

Glancing up at Rosie with one golden eye, the other half of his face shredded, Dith gestured at what he was doing. "Help me! Build up to above the things stuck in him. Then we put dressing over, stick down." He felt nauseous. That couldn't be the nasty wounds on Luke, he'd seen much worse.

"Somebody look at Dove!" he bellowed at anyone listening, "see if she is alive! If she is try to stop bleeding, pressure! Do not pull anything out of her! I will come when I can!"

Yuri was calling out, but who was Tori? He didn't know, and focusing was hard. Luke. He had to fix him, make this okay. He'd only just come back, they couldn't be dead, none of them could be.

Fortunately, Sparky had been able to escape much damage, only a few long scratches along his back from debris. Lifting his head, he looked around the field of people and pokemon, jerking his head in Yuri's direction as the man called out his trainer's name.

His eyes alighted to his girl, and with a deep roar in his chest, the typhlosion went to her, helplessly unable to do anything but wait for another human to help the long haired one already there. Given the circumstances, the fire type ceded to let Yuri handle her... his respect for the man leveling to a high.

Thierry also came to her side with a limp, absolutely terrified and shamed that this had happened. He had only been obeying her direct orders...

Aurora lay unconscious a few yards off, her fur matted with blood to match her trainer.

While the group rushed to her side, the girl remained unconscious and limp as he tended to her, completely unaware of everything.

Somewhere near Dith and Luke there was a whimper, and Repede would be seen limping towards them with a piece of shrapnel jutting out of his shoulder. Still, the Growlithe was brave, and knew that his partner could handle himself. Thus he just sat and waited, watching as Luke was tended to.

"Vince...." Andre stared blankly at the panicking male, his patience stretching thin. "Be quiet and listen." He hissed, reaching up to grip one flailing hand in a tight grip. He gave the dark haired man a calm, leveled look, hoping to calm him at least a little. Vince was of no use to him when he was panicking like this. "You need to pull the shrapnel out. Pull slowly but firmly or it could break off inside of my thigh." He instructed, slowly releasing the others hand. "Once you've pulled it out I'll tighten the straps on my holster to choke the wound." The purple haired man let out a hiss of pain as he shifted to sit up more. After a quick mental check over he found that other than his thigh, there weren't any injuries in need of immediate attention. "Before that though, are you injured? I'm a medic," Of sorts. "so make sure to let me know." He didn't need Vince passing out from blood loss when he needed his help to get back to the van.

It indeed was not without a fight that Luke was removed from Rosie, his consciousness entirely focused on the enduring goal of holding on, and it was with an aggressiveness he would later regret that he grappled and failed to keep hold of her. The Yawn placated him, sending him into slumber more quickly than it otherwise might have with his awareness as impeded as it was.

__

Petra, with a breathless word of thanks to Alder for his quick reaction, pushed herself to her feet, hissing at the pressure on her wrist. A simple glance around the area was enough for her to forget that pain, though. She glanced up to Titan, still holding a somewhat bored-looking Elite in his maw, and searched her pocket for a radio to relay their location to emergency services. More police cars - they'd arrested more Rockets than she had predicted they might - and a medical helicopter, if available. She warned the individual on the other hand of the chasm and the fact that the League vehicle wasn't practically accessible at the time. That complete, she pinned the radio to her jacket in case more information was requested and moved at a short jog towards Dove and Yuri, "I called in emergency services. Sorry, I don't really have any medical training; is there anything I can do to help?"

Yuri had heard Dith's words and noted the fact that the shrapnel shouldn't be removed. She was alive at least, that much was certain as the girl was still breathing. The man not bothering to look up at the Pokemon as they drew near. They were not the priority at the moment.

When Petra did arrive though, he sparred her a glance.

"Yeah well, I don't either," he admitted. "You can help by putting pressure to her wounds. If the bleeding doesn't stop, she might not make it till your chopper gets here."

Astal was still unconscious on the sands, that Lucario's hit having done a number on him, thus he didn't respond to Larry's proddings. Fortunately though, since he was lying on the ground, the Eevee had managed to avoid further injury.

Greal had fallen in battle, she still had three going strong though. She had to admit though, this was a rough battle, and chaotic, as much as Rosie believed in her pokemon she could recognize when they were starting to slow down, and it was worrying her. Up until the Rockets had called to retreat.
Rosie perked up at that, lifting her fingers to her face and watching as they moved to get away, at least some of them did.

Rosie didn't remember quite what happened next, she had been watching her Pokemon, confused as to why one of the Rocket's pokemon was hugging Pop, when she got a sense of fear, and then suddenly everything in her vision was blocked.

For the second time today she felt Luke's grip on her, found her wide eyes staring into his chest, but unlike the last time, he gave a jerk as she felt something impact them both, though with a sharp feeling of dread when she realized that Luke had been the one to take the brunt of whatever had hit them.
In instinctive reaction her hands had gripped his shift to hold on, but her fingers tightened when she heard him groan in pain.
She knelt there in silence, unaware of anything that was happening int he world outside of Luke's breathing and the pained sounds. Looking up at him she tightened her grip on his shirt. "L-Luke? What happened?"

She tried to pull away, to sit up and see what happened, but the grip he had on her was strong, and she was not able to pull away. "Luke, What hit you? Luke!" She gasped desperately.
Dith had come to help, and after a startling effort managed to get Luke to let go of her.
She knew Luke was strong, but sometimes she was reminded of how strong he could be.

Dith was giving her a job, Rosie heard it, and understood, but the shock of seeing what had happened to Luke, and seeing the blood over half of Dith's face froze her in worry and fear.
"Oh god, Luke." She gasped as she frantically started doing what Dith was telling her, her hand shaking with Luke's blood on them. That would have hit her, they would have hit her full on if he had not gotten in the way.

Vince managed to close his eyes and breathe deeply in an effort to stay calm as Andre had requested. The grip of his hand helped him to get a grip on reality and he was able to think more clearly while concentrating on the task at hand. Upon opening his eyes, and facing the injured man, he listened to his words carefully making sure to not miss a single detail.

After hearing his instructions, he carefully proceeded to doing so. He detested blood however, this was why he worked with rocks after all and not live creatures! Hearing that he was a medic was of great comfort to him however, and he was once again began to recompose himself. He took a deep breath and gripped the shrapnel. Ok Vince, you can do this. Just pull it out, and he'll take care of the rest. Just pull it out. He did his best to think of things that made him happy. Fossils, stratigraphic cross sections, carbonized impressions, rocks of all kinds. With these in mind he gave a quick tug and pulled the shrapnel, one by one, out of Andre's right thigh. After this was accomplished Vince began to feel sick at the sight of the blood. He turned away from the sight only to see some of the other victims of the hit. Despite them being some distance away, the color near some of the people was unmistakable Sooo much blood.... Vince's body swayed unsteadily, his skin pale and eyes blank, as he fell backward into the sand, unconcious.
