Vegito was only toying with Buu because he had a plan to save the others before finishing off Buu and therefore got absorbed on purpose.

As Goku and Vegeta wander through the innards of Buu, Goku gets covered by a green slime and then a worm tries to eat him and the slime.

Goku and Vegeta had to fight images of their friends and family until Buu couldn't keep his thoughts straight and the family and friends turned into sweets. Taking this as a good sign, Vegeta and Goku search the rest of Buu's head and finds the real deals of Gohan, Piccolo, Goten, and Trunks. They will even find Fat Buu in there too.

After the pods become free of Buu, the thought of Buu begins to attack Goku and Vegeta. Now the two saiyans must free their friends from inside of Buu as well as Fat Buu which they discovered.

Vegeta frees the fat Buu and then grabbing the pods, Goku and Vegeta high tail it out of there only to see Buu shrink to a child's size. Kibitokai is sweating bullets knowing that this Buu is the most dangerous one of them all.

When Kid Buu creates an energy ball big enough to blow up the planet, instead of rescuing Gohan, Piccolo, Goten, and Trunks, Goku rescues Hercule and Dende. Vegeta makes it because he grabbed onto Goku and Goku grabbed onto East supreme Kai.

Unable to stop Buu yet, Buu destroys planet after planet until Buu stopped at the Grand Kai's world. This was when Vegeta hatched a plan to summon Buu to the Supreme Kai's world in order to fight Buu there.

The battle for the universe begins with Goku fighting Kid Buu. Supreme Kai takes Elder Kai and Dende to a planet with tall grass, but forgets about Hercule and Bee. North and West Kai are watching the fight through their antennae with Yamcha, Krillin, Pikkon, and Olibu watching through the backs of the 2 Kais. Vegeta is watching on the sidelines and Hercule thinks that it is all just a bad dream.

As the fight between Goku and Buu continues, Vegeta reminisces about all the times Goku showed off his power and realized that Goku is the superior saiyan. That of course does not mean that Vegeta will quit fighting, it just means that Goku can handle the bigger tasks.

Since Goku needed a minute to power up, but not succeeding, Vegeta who stepped in to give Goku time is getting the pounding of what remains of his existence.

Hercule steps in to save Vegeta's life and kid Buu spits out Fat Buu. Fat Buu tries to defend Hercule and the match seems pretty even. Goku, however, is losing power fast and knows that something is wrong.

Vegeta has a plan to defeat Buu once and for all, so first he has Dende go to Namek and have the planet Earth revived as wish 1. Wish 2, bring everyone that was good back to life since the world's martial arts tournament this last time. Then Vegeta plans on having everyone on earth help create a spirit bomb to get rid of Buu.

Vegeta tries to reach the people of the earth via King Kai's telepathic abilities, but only Goku's family and friends help in the development of the spirit bomb, which is not big enough to destroy Buu. The other people have doubts and all they need is the master of martial arts aka Hercule to confirm what Vegeta is saying is true.

When Goku's pleas didn't exactly work and Vegeta was getting thrashed by Kid Buu, Hercule steps up and gives his plea to the earth, which works and now the spirit bomb is ready.
