Well, an elemental absorb is pretty universal, I believe. He would have been damaged from the physical aspect of the attack, but upon taking the elemental aspect, he would begin healing off the first aspect; unlike in games where yu can get impaled or shot and absorb the whole thing without a scratch. It was while he was in the healing stage I went behind him and stabbed.

How much time can it take to absorb lightning?
It's not like Lightning Rods need time to recooperate after being struck.

The time aspect is less absorbing the element as it is time healing the initial wound. Regenerating tissue always takes a bit of time, no matter who yu are. And how much time does it really take to take 2 steps while turning, and stab a back?
