I guess I'm only a gaming fan of the zelda series though compared to the fan I can't remembers the areas of the games xD;
Just like the streets around my town, I could know where the place is but I'll never remember the name of the street. If I'm in a Zelda convo. I call the place by what I remember in it xD

I only remember the names when I'm playing but after I finish it or give up for a bit I forget D;
I can remember the area like the forest or the volcano area I'll call it what I just did right now when we're talking about it xD
As for the characters I can remember certain names if I see them very often in the game like navi, link and ganon. But when it comes to those people who live near the volcano I call them rock people xDD but somehow I remember the Zoras and a few of the enemies xD
