So, did you end up getting that sword leveled up? No, I just switchd to my scimitar. It's a good switch, though. Plus I got magic, and that's o-so-satisfying.

What do you want to call me? You just select the spell you want, with the up thing on the d-pad. then equip a catalyst(wand) aim with r3, and shoot.
