Tanakietsu Just deal with the "here and there" of illiteracy and shut the Hell up. You're not in charge, your opinion has been taken into consideration.
Please be advised that that in fact does offend me. 3nodding Not so much, but it does to some extent.

*drops most of the remainder of his discussion with Verush, knowing that they will never agree due to conflicting views and logic* I too know the distinction between newbs and n00bs and used the terms appropriately. I never stated that I thought you were mean. I gave a hypothetical situation with a nested conditional statement. If said events were to come about, then yes. xp
I find myself protective of the guild as its own entity too, Mou.
EDIT: Welcome, Neraj!
Moody yet true words, Tana.

Please be advised that that in fact does offend me. 3nodding Not so much, but it does to some extent. I'm even more protective of this guild than Mou and Snowman (Yoder) combined. So, to be honest, forcing literacy down the throats of those who either a) are not entirely familiar with english, b) aren't looking for the elite literary role-players, or c) have developed improper skills involving the use of a keyboard sounds like a fecking bad idea. I agree there should be a level of competency, but if you demand that you're surrounded by only the best; you should definitely veer off of the internet and join a skilled LARP, where you don't have to pay attention to their spelling.

LARP? You mean those guys who go off into a field to pitch a tent and dress up a bit? Er.. I think i'll pass on that. I don't like dressing up 3nodding Plus the foamy weapons are kinda silly. blaugh
But eh.. If you want me to leave could you just say so? Much easier than playing hints at 0.30 am gonk ( In which case thanks for the stay, however short and stuff)

Nowhere in my incoherent ramblings did I even once think that you should leave. I merely am pointing out alternative methods of roleplay. Before I moved out of the States, I was not only a member of gaiaonline, but LARP'd as well. 0.30 is nothing, I've had discussion up till 5.00 with some of these people.
By the way: LARP is not always get out in a dark field with lame-arse foam weapons. Most of the group sessions are at a large rectangular, or whatever shape table is available, indoors. You get together with your papers and it's pretty much like roleplaying online, but with people in front of you instead of a computer. ((Outdoor fields are really hard to communicate on)) blaugh
So, if you think I'm urging you to leave, you are sadly mistaken. I am just a little disappointed someone has taken illiteracy as an issue to an extent such as this. It's not a crime (although in some cases it should be), and it isn't that terribly hard to just ignore and keep role-playing. How will you ever have fun role-playing if you're too busy worrying about someone's spelling and grammar? So . . . I'm sorry for reacting in such a sharp way.
*tired*
I need to check on Rose. I'll be right back after I scare away the monster in her closet.

Eh... Consider it my mistrust of anyone who has more options availible than others. Sufficient to note that I run into moderators all the time due to being opinionated. 3nodding
Plus it's not spelling and grammar that bug me most of all. More so the lack of content. gonk I enjoy reading good stories. 3nodding Spelling is somewhat irrelevant in the sense that if you still know what they mean, it's not such a big deal.
Contrary to the image some may or may not have formed, i'm not the spelling-police. domokun I am moreso the content patrol! ( we have nicer uniforms! mrgreen )

surprised I am not a moderator...nor am I the captain (which I used to be). I am merely a simple member of the guild trying to save face for those less fortunate (in terms of competency).
...if I had known you were more focused on content, we would have hit it off from the get-go. I shall present you with a nice shiny badge of approval. I like you, moreso because you put up with me while I argued on a completely different subject.
*hands shiny badge*

Hmm, perhaps I was a bit unclear on that matter... gonk But yes, content over form. 3nodding As long as language is comprehensible, the task of language is at an end. Whether people write 'beautiful' or 'beatyfull' is of little consequence really. The message will get there eventually. Only things which alter context are to be corrected to prevent deviating interpretations of the same wording. Which happens quite frequently when people confuse certain words. 3nodding Like for example the arguing over literacy when you were talking about spelling and I was focused more on content, which I could have clarified earlier on, but didn't for some reason.
*accepts shiny badge and places it amongst his collection of badges which exhibit shininess.*
Edit: On the bright side several people noticed me, which is good! *attention whore alert! Run for your lives! gonk *
