well if it has old windows, im assuming that its a slightly old comp, so maybe you don't have dvd compatible disc drive.

It has XP in it. It's just an older version of XP, so it doesn't have the new drivers.

It hasn't got any problems playing DVD's that are two or three years old. xD

This happened to me.

Windows kept loading the install box and it kept coming back every time I tried to escape out of it.

I had to reinstall windows to get rid of it!

Try that pain in the a**!

It can't play DVDs cause it doesn't have a CD drive... cause its windows 3.1 XD

Soo back to yer problem,

Have you contacted Windows or something? Maybe they could help?
Or you could always resort to bringing it to a computer fixing place.

Computers Are Different From Laptops People...anyways if you do have a regular computer watch the dvd's on that. Laptops suck at doing most things.

Ok, first thing to do is check to see if you have the adequate software for your DVD player. That sometimes has conflicting issues. Make sure you have also, checked your computer settings. If all that fails then you may need to reformat your computer all together and start from scratch. sad
