    Oh geez, that's terrible. D;
I was just at band camp a few weeks ago myself, and it was insanely hot,
    and I got sunburned,
    and I thought that was bad. ^^;;
It really sucks that you can no longer march. =(
You could probably still be a part of the band, though.
I hope your surgery goes well. <3

    Luckily I've never broken anything.
I've hurt my ankle a few times, but never broke it.
And I've hurt my thumb before, too.
    No casts, though. ^^

i sprained my ankle and it hurts wen it is suposed to rain cats and dogs that week. i an only imagine what it would be like with plates and screws... cry . my little sis had a bad bike injury and has a screw in her arm though. the worst that happens (from what she says) is that she gets a lil stiff when its cold or something. hope you feel better. heart

That doesn't sound too bad..
That makes me feel a little better about it.
Thanks.

Yeah. I never thought I wouldn't be able to march for my senior year.
Hope your friend feels better.

Yeah, my director told me that I'm still part of the band and that I can play a percussion instrument in the pit.
I'm not sure exactly what I'll be playing though.

Thank you for your well-wishes. I really appreciate them. heart

Aww, I'm sorry! That's so terrible. DDD': I play clarinet in band too. I'm not in highschool yet, but when I am, I plan on playing in the marching band too.

I've never had a really terrible injury like that before though, or surgery. ^^;; I almost did, though.

How long do you have to be in cruches, do you know? :0

That sucks. Hope everything works out for you.
I've never broken anything before. I did seriously damage my finger though while playing basketball. It was all swollen up, and I couldn't move it properly. Luckily, it was my right hand, which I don't use often.

I tend to get concussions more than anything else. I had three or four just last year. Only one this year, which is a record for me since I got my first concussion in '99.

For crutches, I suggest... An elevator pass / key / whatever, and... a not-on-the-side-of-your-body backpack. sweatdrop

I fell off of a 3-foot-high prop and the bottom of my leg bent the wrong way and I landed on it.
I broke 3 bones in my ankle.
One on each side and one in the back.
I also tore ligaments and tendons.
The doctor and surgeon both said it was a pretty bad injury.
And by that, they mean really bad.
Vicodin only helps some.
I'm having surgery on Monday.
They're putting plates and screws in me.

It's my senior year too.

I'm awfully depressed.
Seriously, I'm really bad with crutches.
I have a really hard time just getting around my house.
What am I going to do at school?
This is possibly the worst thing that has ever happened to me.
Plus, I can forget about marching this season. I'm not joining marching band in college, so I guess I'll never march again crying
My band director said he has a spot open for me in the pit, but still...
I'm a clarinet through and through.

Umm... this is a pretty open subject but it would be really helpful if anyone has tips on using crutches/wheelchairs in school.
Spectral in heaven as climbs the frail veiled moon,

What a horrid time of year to get an injury: the beginning of school. At least it isn't winter time.. crutches on ice.. let's not go there. You may of course not even live somewhere where there is ice anyway.
In grade six I broke my foot in dance class. Hurt so much.. and it wasn't a very bad break. No cast. I can't imagine what you are going through.
Tips: take it easy, take it slow. Crutches are a total pain, but you will get used to them.
So climbs my dream.

4 weeks if I only need 1 plate.
6 weeks if I need 2 plates.
They won't know if I need a second plate until they get in there.

But the doctor did say I could use a wheelchair for the first 2 weeks 3nodding
