I believe. eek
I've heard this story about a thousand times from my grandma...
When my dad and uncles were just little kids, like.. my dad (the oldest) was like 8 and my uncle was about 4 (I'm not even sure if my other uncle was born yet), my grandma lived in Dublin, CA and they had a pool in their backyard, not an in-ground pool, but there was a deck around it so it was almost like it, and my grandma was in the kitchen making dinner while my dad was watching television. suddenly my grandma felt a wierd feeling, like when someone's looking over your shoulder, and she heard "Get Kevin, go get Kevin" my grandma got a little scared and so she started running around the house frantically looking for him, because last time she saw him, he was with my dad, she finally ran to the backyard and saw my uncle leaning over the pool and starting to trip a bit. She caught him, but he most likely would have drowned had she not heard that voice.
wierd.
this happened in MY house! eek
okay, so my stepmom was home alone 'cuz I was at my grandparents (we're close xD) and my dad was working late. She walked into the dark living room, through the dining room, and into the kitchen to get a drink. She leaned over to get into the fridge and when she stood back up, she saw an older looking man staring right at her from next to our couch, he blinked, and my stepmom blinked, and he was gone.... then, a few months later, my dad and I were coming home from work and school, and my stepmom was sitting on the couch with her friend. As we looked around, we saw a bunch of papers and pens in a messy pathway leading from the entry to our living room. it was like almost a perfect path! those papers and pens were in the kitchen before, and it's not like our cats can delicately arrange them wthout getting them dirty at all or without ripping them. What was even more wierd was that there were no papers between the living room and the kitchen. our house has a livingroom, dining room, and kitchen all in a row, no doors, no walls seperating them, and like I said, the papers and pens were in the kitchen that morning.
then, just a few weeks later, we came home and the jets to our jacuzzi-bathtub-thing were on. you may not think that's wierd, but that button to turn them on is really hard to press, because it's just a bit small, its kinda sunken, and its stiff because we don;t use it often. So, obviously, the cats couldn't have pushed a button like that! and, the door to that bathroom was shut! xD at first we thought a burglar had come to use our bathtub..
wierd stuffs eh?

I'm kind of sitting on the fence on this issue. I've heard and read bizarre stories about poltergeists and stuff, but I've yet to experience a 'ghost'. I'm pretty sure I've seen tv shows about scientific tests to see if ghosts really exist.
So, I donno.

Yeah coz there was one haunting my room. (Good thing we don't live in that house anymore). And during my lil bro's birthday, we were taking pictures right? And when I reviewed the pictures a couple of months later, there was this -head- on the wall. Seriously. Just a head. No body.
And that's it. Maybe it was just a fluke. But the ghost haunting my room was definitely real though. I should know.

well i would in some way believe in ghosts although my "encounters" as a kid might have been my imagination.
i used to wake up in the night and around the corner or so i would see a human figure, but it was llike pure black with like that static that would come out on the tv. it would just stand there and look around.

I do beleive in Ghosts, but the problem is people sometimes mis-understand them.
I beleive that there are MANY good ghosts. and some bad ones.
good ghosts are the ones that were accidentally killed, or murdered but still have something to comeplete in their life. like; say goodbye to loved ones.
and I also beleive that there are lots that are in all houses but are just there to be there and watch what goes on. Not cause any trouble.
But then theres the ones who were murdered and want vengence.
Ever seen the move " Gothika " or " The Grudge "
movies like that are examples of ghosts of people who were murdered but are angry and want vengence...and vengence never dies...
So as long as they arent trying to completely scare me or just kill me. I am fine if they are just wandering, looking for a purpose.
I have a friend who thought their barn was " haunted "
he always heard footsteps above him...funny thing, he lived on the top floor.

This story isnt about me but I have heard some other stories.
One is about Abraham Lincoln.
He was married when he died right? I saw a picture of his wife that was taken a little after he was shot and killed. these people took a picture of the picture..then they held the picture to the light and took a picture of that....they held the two together. the one without the light showed a picture of Abrahams wife..the one WITH the light showed a blurry image of Abraham right next to his wife!! I got the chills when I saw this.

I've always had to use logic to convince myself that I was, indeed alone. I live in an old house and I am the only one who lives on the first floor and I stay up late and I hear things, creaking, doors slamming, movement, stuff like that. I just tell my self that the floor boards are settling out, the wind slammed the door, it's the dog moving around... even if I know full well where the dog is. I've had full conversations with what I thought was one of my parents but when I get up to go see them, they're already in bed. On the other hand, I've always wanted to befriend a ghost. I've done the haunted tours, they seem like more like the place naturally has this mood about it and the lighting and the guides fill in the rest and let your imagination run free. I've worked in haunted theaters late at night, backstage crew, cleaning up and such and heard movement in the lofts when I knew nobody was up there, boxes moving and footsteps, that kinda thing. Again, I just tell myself that it's old and the boards are settling out.
