Mei sighed. " Ahh Ok. " She was upset beacuase she didn't have someone to care about her like Raiji and Tishon. She got up sat on another rock, obviously upset.  

[Lyke LAWL]

Raiji gasped, falling to the ground on the other side of the pond.
"Lily!!" She let out a blood-curtling scream. Whimpering she pulled her feet to her chest, they were bleeding. Tishon quickly croushed bside her.
"Raiji! What happened?!" He yelled. Tears ran down her face.

Hearing the scream from the kitchen, Lily came running out to Raiji. "Ms. Raiji, what's the matter?" She spoke before she had a chance to look at her bindings. They were tinted red from the gushing blood. "Tishon, help me carry her back inside." As she spoke she was already wrapping one of Raiji's arms around her neck.

Mei turned quickly around. " Raiji!!!" she rushed over to her sister. She knelt down next to her sister. Mei felt a pain; probably more than her sister felt. " SEE?! " She screamed. " I can't go through all this with you!!!" She was so upset.

Tishon helped Lily take her into the palce. They set her on her bed.
"I-I-I Stepped on-o a." She said, whimpering.
"I don't know!!" She yelled as Tishon unwrapped her bindings. They were cut.
"I'll never get a husband!!" She wailed.

Lily brought in a bucket of warm water and new bandages. "Yes you will, it doesn't look like it will scar so you will be just fine. Your bandages have to be wrapped a little different is all." She spoke calmly hoping to calm down Raiji. "Bring me two wash cloths Tishon." Lily ordered him believing being busy would keep him calmer as well.

She ran to the kitchen with them; both her hands balled in a fist; Mei was changing emotions so quickly, angry, upset.. She didn't know what to feel. " Don't worry, your still really pretty Raiji. " Then Mei looked up at Tishon. " Right? Tishon? I'm right? Right? "

Tishon handed hte new, white bandages to Lily. He blushed at Mei's question, then took Raiji's hand. He looked at her, concern floating in his eyes.
"Yes, you are beautiful Raiji." He said in a soft voice. She smiled weakly, then winced in pain as Lily put the bandages on.

Lily slowly unbinded Raiji's foot and set the bindings asides as she ran to get two cloths. When she got back she mixed an ointment and healing herbs in the warm water. Lily soaked the cloth in the water for a brief moment, then wringed it out and cleaned Raiji's wound. She dried the wound with the other cloth and dabbed the bindings in the water. Gently, but tightly, Lily placed the bindings back on her foot. She was sure to wrap it around her wound and still in the proper binding fashion. When she finished she dipped the cloth back in the water and moistened the bindings around her wound. Lily placed the cloths back in the bucket and bowed as she walked away to clean up.

Raiji gasped in pain. Tishon kissed the back of her hand.
"Shhh...It's alright.." He murmured against it. She tried to breathe calmly, but failed.
Finally Lily was finished.
"Thank you.." She said weakly.

Lily took the bucket out of the room and dumped it on the grass outside. She thoroughly scrubbed the cloths she used to clean Raiji's feet with, trying to get the blood out. While she was washing, she ended up cleaning some clothes, too, and hang drying them. As she worked, Lily pondered on what had happened upstairs with Tishon and Ms. Raiji. She knew relationships were forbidden so she couldn't wrap her mind around it. Though, when she caught herself thinking about it, she stopped herself immediately, knowing it wasn't her place.

Mei walked over to Lily.. " Hi. " She said beacuse she ha no one to talk to; she wanted to leave Tishon and Raiji alone.

Tishon fidgeted nervously. Once Raiji and him were alone, he realized that they were never alone together. He desperately wanted to kiss her, seeing her lower lip tremble, but he was a mere servant, what authority did he have to ask such a quesiton?
As if reading his mind Raiji softly carressed his face.
"Ah..." She said, wincing, then her face was masked over with calm. She smiled at him, this smile was pain-free. And seeing her smile, made him smile too.
"Tishon..." She said, leaning towards him. He copied her movements. Suddenly he forgot everything and it was just them. There was no social status. She would not get an arranged marriage. It was just them, and how much love they felt for the other.
His lips softly brushed hers, starting the kiss. His arm snaked around her waist, pulling her towards him. Raiji's hands got entangled in his soft hair. Suddenly the kiss became more intimate. Her lips traced the outline of his, asking to enter, and just as soon as she asked it he granted it.
They had never kissed like this, let alone be allowed to be alone. Tishon was now leaning on her futon, almost all the way on it.
The sudden gasp made them pull apart as if electrocuted. Miu stood in the doorway, bewildered.
"Mama's gonna be so mad..." She said, threatening, then ran back down the hall from where she came. Horror washed over Raiji's face.
"Tishon..." She choked out, her face hot. He backed away from her, standing now.
"I'm leaving." He said harshly, then rushed out of the room. Tears stung Raiji's eyes.
"Tishon wait! Please stay." She pleaded, begging, but he was gone.
Tishon knew this wasn't going to happen. A princess and slave? No. Never. A tear ran down his face. Furious, he wiped it away. He quickly walked out into the garden where they were just a few moments ago. He stopped at the edge of the cliff, then flung himself down, landing on a small jut of rock sticking out from the wall. This is where he came in times of trouble. His own spot. He sat, leaning against the rock wall, then sighed. He let it out, two tears ran down his face as he touched his lips.

"RAIJI!" Mama yelled, bursting into her room. Mama stood at the end of her bed.
"You know the punishment. For him. Where did he go?" Mama demanded. Raiji only shook her head, wiping away her tears.
"Mama..What is the punishment." She asked, not wanting to know. Mama exhaled.
"40 lashes by the whip. Neither of you will be able to come in any contact for a month." She said. New tears ran down her face, breaking open a leak.
"40 lashes..." She said to herself. Then Mama left her room.
Raiji's cry of pain echoed through the corrider.  

[Lyke LAWL]

"Come here. Now." Mama commanded an older slave. She gave him the whip, then followed behind her as she walked into the garden.
"Porter? Where does Tishon go?" Mama asked in a baby-voice. Porter pointed to the cliff.
Mama eyed it then made her way over, slowly, evaluating each step. She got to the edge and looked around. Tishon's black jacket caught her eye. She grabbed his hair.
"Get up here boy." She said, dragging him up. He helped her, collapsing onto the grass. He looked up through his hair, only to get a menacing look. He glared at Porter as they hauled him up, slamming him against the wooden pole, tying his wrists at the other side, leaving his back bare and exposed. Trying to look behind him, he caught a glimpse of a girl, standing from the third story balcony, wathcing. Raiji. Tears glistened on her face.
Without warning, the whip cracked, sitinging his back, a splash of hot wax. The wound swelled, then bled as he braced himself for another.
Raiji was walked back inside, feeling empty. She fell on the bed, her knees bent, sitting. Tears ran down her face from sad grey eyes. Her blank face winced everytime she heard him scream.

As Mei said hello, Lily bowed and replied a small hello in return. Not a moment after she stood back up, she saw Tishon running out of the garden and heard yells coming from the the palace. Knowing it wouldn't end well and it still wasn't her place, Lily grimaced and walked into the kitchen hoping to busy herself to avoid thinking of what was happening.
