churrlo I would like the announcements to pop up like Gaia announcements, you know? Where it's like "Hey I've got..." 1 Profile Comment 1 Private Comment 1 Guild Announcement That would be REALLY useful I think, everyone would see it then! And there's always the option to turn it on and off soooo everyone ish happy? D:
That would be really awsome...

Hmmm....
I don't think that an off switch would be feusable even if you can select which guild to not recieve 'broadcasts' from.
If a captain or vice captain would abuse the announcements for a guild that I am in, then I would probably make a post about it, and if nothing changes, then I would leave the guild...
By abusing the broadcasts, Im asuming that you mean like broadcasting every single day about being active in that guild, or something even just as useless to post.
I think, in a round-about way, 'broadcasts' (if it is sending announcements) would be a good test for a captain's leadership skills... And by that I mean their fear of loosing activity in the guild. If they are afraid, and their only method of communication is through broadcasting everything, than maybe its not quite the guild I would like to be assosiated with.
But I agree with Metalic Noodles when she sais that if it can be turned off, than it would be useless.

Rita: LOL That's what I've been saying (other threads, I'll see if I can find one) If asking the captain to not send them so carelessly doesn't work, then how would that member get along with the captain enough to enjoy the guild. confused Churrlo-I think you are thinking of Gaia Alerts, which used to work, then broke and never send. Sure it will be abused, and they will be punished by members leaving for other guilds. 3nodding Pheonix-Just a guess, but it that post dated 2007 or earlier? Ah! Thread- http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=12380839&page=1Mostly just a collection of thoughts by many captains. (cappy guild) For the most part, and the purpose of linking this to you, ignore the first post, maybe even the first page. Please don't post in that thread though, it is long dead. As stated in that thread, my personal favorite is giving the guild account a use, 5g per member the GMPM (guild mass pm) is sent to.
