I have been working on and off for the past several years on an orchestral piece. It has been my life's work so far. Every time I work on it, I can see the things I've gone through in my life reflected through the piece. I have arranged parts for first and second violin, viola, cello, string bass, and timpani as of right now. Every time I listen to what I have, I feel so moved, I love the effect music has on my life.
Currently am not PERFORMING any classical pieces, but performing-wise, I play in a metal band if that counts?

For oboe I haven't been working on anything specific.
But I have a piano recital coming up soon where I'm playing the Entertainer by Scot Joplin and one of Brahms Hungarian Dances with my piano teacher as a duet. We're playing it extremely fast though, and it's pretty easy.

We just got one of our new pieces we're going to play: Butterfly Lovers Concerto. We played it without the solo, and sounds a bit weird.. but I guess that's why it needs the soloist.. it IS a concerto.. xp

I'm working on a theme with variations, if I want to my teacher is going to let me work on it for the recital in December. Other than that, not much... If we can find a cellist the place I take lessons at might start a chamber quartet and work on some songs. We might learn Waltz for the Moon from Final Fantasy VIII.
And I'm supposed to work on Phantom of the Opera a bit later.

The Adagio Movement of the Weber Bassoon Concerto in F Major. (Although the movement is in Bb Major.)
I'll probably do the piece for a recital later on, but for right now I'm doing it for a Music Theory IV project. In a few months or so I'll be performing it in front of the class. Oh joy. XD
