Any word of The Conduit?

That's my most anticipated Nintendo game that's yet to come out.

nintendo is trying to hard. they just need to develop MORE games not make each one easy for everyone.

They won't necessarily be easier. If the casual gamer has a walkthrough that tells them how to beat whatever they're stuck on, you're free to make games more difficult. Hardcore gamers won't really use the walkthrough, so it's not a difficulty drop for them. Casual gamers, on the other hand, will be more likely to finish games, put more money into games, and can even work up to the level where they don't need these walkthroughs anymore.

But I don't remember the last true "hardcore" game that Nintendo came out with. I noticed that Nintendo has been overly committed to casual games lately.

Madden 09 and Guitar Hero World Tour don't really count, even through they're great. But besides that, there's nothing really. I loved Resident Evil 4, Medal of Honor: Heroes 2, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, and Far Cry: Vengeance. They need to start making a few more of these types of games, from the ground up.

Twilight Princess, Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Super Paper Mario? Madden, Gutiar Hero, Resident Evil, MoH and Far Cry aren't even made by Nintendo. Nintendo is making more hardcore games than they have in a long time, too. People just look at the casual games they make and try to say that Nintendo is abandoning us.

Let's see... Mario Kart (hardcore OR casual), WarioLand (again), Big Brain Academy Wii Degree, Wii Sports, Wii Fit, Wii Music...

I don't understand the doom and gloom. Don't we have this system in place already? Gamefaqs and Youtube. Maybe I'm missing something.

It's more about the genre, than the "hardcore" to me. Because you can't really define hardcore. Is it mature, a great game, an addicting game, or something else?

...But I want Nintendo to come out with a good FPS, without aliens. I wish that Call of Duty 4 came out of the Wii. But I wanted a game like Killzone. Hopefully The Conduit will turn heads and become that revolutionizing Wii "hardcore" game.

I think CoD4 did come out for Wii. If you want shooters, you're barking up the wrong tree. Try Metroid Prime 3, but that's about the best you're gonna get, I think.

No, unfortunately, Call of Duty 4 (Modern Warfare) didn't come out for the Wii. But with such a revolutionary control system, you'd think that developers would love to team up with the Wii to make a great shooter.

Call of Duty World at War has a Wii port. It's supposedly really good, too. Developers ARE working with Nintendo, but for whatever reason people ignore it.

Yes, it's a good game, but we've been exposed to so many World War II and traditional games. I really wanted a modern shooter with modern weapons and stuff like COD4. And I was pretty upset when the franchise went backwards, and went back to WWII for their latest game.

I can see it now: Super Mario Massacre.

So the idea is to put the walkthrough in the game?

Well, when I want to play video games, I know there will be hard puzzles and hard quests. That's even one of my good reasons to play video games,I want challenges! If I need to search something, I will do it!

I can understand other gamers use the walkthrough...
But I think it spoils the fun a bit. For a linear game... ...It could be okay for casual players.

Everything is about making money! So if they can reach more casual players, they will be happy.

But expect strategy guides (linear games) to diseappear. What NP will give you with the year subscription?

A plushie or something, or some Wii Points, maybe? I'd take anything over a freakin' strategy guide.

I don't see how they're giving people the cold shoulder. They're making something for their own games, so what? Nintendo made and patented Wii Sports, but did that stop developers from making other sport and mini-game games for the Wii using the Wiimote intuitively? No, it didn't. They're most likely copyrighting the name of whatever this program is, but other developers can most likely put something like it into their games if they see fit, but I think other developers are going to be too proud to embrace the idea, because it's going to be "ruining gaming as a media" just as everything else Nintendo does.

Denko, are you seriously thinking that the developers/publishers are going to go to 360 and PS3 because of something like this? The Wii is cheaper to develop for than the PSP, and it's the most successful gaming console on the market right now, with shitted out titles becoming million-sellers all the time. I don't think that Nintendo putting this program into some of their own games is going to ward off any potential developers.

No, I agree with you, and I know this already. I actually like this whole idea. What I meant was more like...
Well, there are great games for 360 and PS3 that just don't work on the Wii. I feel bad for them, sort of. Nintendo gradually has more and more ideas that just make many types of games harder to make for the Wii.
And I realize that the opposite works just as well, (games made specifically for the Wii that are awesome) but I just wish Nintendo didn't try quite so hard to force the uniqueness and not provide alternatives.
