I recently saw the London Symphony Orchestra when they were on tour in SF. Other memorable concerts include SF Symphony summer pops series when they played Lord of the Rings (this year I think they're doing Final Fantasy...), Zuill Bailey with orchestra, and Joshua Bell in recital.
I was also lucky enough to hear Jean-Pierre Rampal in recital before he died.

I recently saw Yanni? O.O;; I know he doesn't play in the classical style, per se, but hearing Storm live in my face pretty much made my life.
I also went to my orchestra teacher's concert and they played Mahler. That was cool. I had about 3 hours of sleep prior to that performance, which was late at night, but I couldn't fall asleep. ^^;;

Vafrous Coyote I went to see the Chicago Symphony Orchestra perform Mahler's Second Symphony back in November. It was /awesome/. =D Oh drooooool... I wish they'd go on tour to Europe a little more often. Or at least to somewhere near me. crying I went to a masterclass with Dale Clevenger once (just listened, didn't play). And my best friend studied with Jay Friedman. Rex Martin comes here sometimes for the annual summer-brass-school and last year he brought Will Scarlett with him. That was cool - he told us some funny anecdotes about CSO back in the days... My mother works in a symphony orchestra so I've been going to concerts every week since I was old enough to sit upright.

Yep. I've seen the Pacific Chorale and the Pacific Symphony Orchestra perform many times at the Renee & Segestrom Concert Hall when I was in high school. My choir teacher was really good friends with people in that Chorale (plus, he used to be their director), and so he'd always get free tickets. ^^

Uhm... I've been to quite a few New York Phil open rehearsals. Uhm... I've heard the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, and the Caramoor String Quartet, but those weren't really concerts so much as things sponsored my my high school. I've seen one ballet, but I'm going to see ABT's Sleeping Beauty in the summer. I'm seeing a Taylor Swift concert in May...

Wow, you've seen some amazing people!
I saw the Chicago Symphony once. I've seen the symphony of the city where I live. But other than that, just random concerts here and there.

Hmm......under my belt I have: 8 broadway plays, 2 ballets, and about 15 orchestral performances. xD I've seen the DSO (Detroit Symphony Orchestra) twice (once for school, it was required). And then there's my school's/the county the school's in's orchestra, the POS (Pontiac-Oakland Symphony). Even though that's not what came to my mind the first time I saw that abbreviation, ahaha. lol But yeah, they're the ones that I've seen a bunch, and I'll probably see much more since I've only completed one year of community college and my first year of music school at my university. But most of them are fascinating, so it doesn't matter that they're for school. ^^ Yay for comp tickets! <3
