Personality: Born deaf Shayne's social skills were never really given the chance to develop to their fullest. Only ever able to communicate to family and the specially assigned teacher he never found acceptance amongst members of the same age group. However due to his disability which made him an outcast he was also given a great ability. Since childhood he has been blessed with an advanced soul perception ability allowing him to see the hearts of others. Using this ability he was always to first to know when someone was feeling down and the first to try and cheer them up through written messages. Through these acts of kindness he was able to make the few friends that he had growing up.

Once he moved to Death City to become a Meister he began training extensively in hand to hand combat utilizing his soul perception ability to replace his lack of hearing. Through the development of his ability he has been granted the nickname with the guy with the eyes on the back of his head. He also gets special attention from Shinigami-san because it is rumoured that his soul perception ability is on the verge of evolving to the point that it can pierce a witches soul protect.
