I'm a huge J-music fan, so my list of favorites are endless.
Jrock is definately one of my favorite genres and from what I've read in this thread so far, many people here are also fans. Some lesser-known Jrock bands I like are Gemmik and No GoD.
J-techno or whatever you'd like to call it is good. I like M.O.V.E. Kotoko, Perfume, and Capsule as well as others.
Jpop's also nice. Aya, Koda Kumi, The Brilliant Green and many others are in my collection. :3

I actually went to Japan this summer (I'm from the U.S.) and I heard the band "Scandal". They have two songs out, Shoujo S and Sakura Goodbye. They're both really good, and those girls really know how to rock. You can find both songs and music video's on youtube.
