Ringwiln The thing that worries me the most is the youth of this nation. Even if we do what we can to stop Obama's reign of terror, the government and every nut in power has control over our schools and what we teach our children. They are feeding lies to them like candy, and the children just believe it because they are told it's true. I mean, they're cutting history out of history for crap's sake! And the kids believe it, not knowing any better. In the next ten years our kids will be shoving this s**t down our throats, and there won't be much we could do about it. Unless we stop the lies and now and educate our children with the truth, I can only see Castro Obama and his communist party taking over quite easily in the next ten years.
The problem is nobody can agree on the truth in history. Frequently the truth in history is multifaceted, as humans often act on differing motivations. Sure, liberal revisionism guts a lot of history curriculum, but even if you got rid of liberal revisionism, would it simply be replaced by conservative revisionism? Maybe it's just a generational thing, but I've found neither side to be fully satisfactory. It galls me that kids these days in history don't learn much about the Revolution and the founding of the nation, but it was no better in my day when they omitted such crucial facts as that the single most decisive factor in the war was French financing. I don't ascribe to Tom Hanks' view of WWII in the Pacific that it was a racist war, but there was something critically lacking in my education that it failed to teach how crucial the Soviet role in Europe was. Sure, the kids will be indoctrinated by leftist teacher's unions, and it sucks. But objectivity and credibility will always lack in history education.

The way I see it, put everything you can into a history textbook based on historical fact. Leave the biases out of. In addition, start teaching the constitution. If they don't learn it now, they never will. I agree with Lord Bitememan that our educational system lacks objectivity and credibility because the system leaves so much room for personal beliefs. If teachers think they're there to teach beliefs, they should think again because they are there to teach the subject material and every so often have a socratic dialogue with the students to make sure they're following it. In addition, the teachers in a history class should not be able to fail a student for an essay that, though is historically accurate, he or she does not agree with.
