Lord of Armageddon dragn99 Lord of Armageddon Nomega Lord of Armageddon Why even text people in the first place? It's a more casual way of talking then calling someone. No it's not...or at least it really shouldn't be. A phone is used to CALL people. To TALK to them. I've never seen the appeal of texting people. EVER. You can't call four people at the same time. It's like conversations for ADD kids. Since when does someone have to call four people at the same time? I'm skyping with four people right now.

Since when does someone have to call four people at the same time? I'm skyping with four people right now. You're aren't texting on a cell phone for that, though. It's like Skype on the road! Along with a music player, an internet browser, instant messenger, a camera, and a ******** of other gizmos that make it no longer really a phone, but rather just a pocket entertainment center...with the ability to call people and vocally talk to them now sort of an afterthought. I know I'm kinda sounding like a senile old man, but we're getting to the point where I don't think "phone" is the correct term to use for these devices anymore. I use a cellphone mainly for it's original intended purpose...to talk to people vocally over great distances...like a regular phone, but a phone you can pick up and carry with you anywhere. I ain't saying it's bad to text; if you enjoy doing it, then by all means, do it. I'm just saying I personally don't see the appeal in it. It kinda defeats the whole purpose of a phone, IMO.

Also, you can't discreetly call people in class or work. Texting is possible though.
My main reason for texting though is that texting is unlimited with my plan, but my minutes are limited (except for evenings and weekends).

It's not the time to do something like that. It's a time to learn or work to earn money, not type messages or chat with people miles away. If there's a real emergency, then I have every right to call someone during those times. But if I want to call my friend to go bowling, I wait until class is done, or until I get a break during my job.

Lord of Armageddon Why even text people in the first place? Well, you certainly can't roleplay with someone with spoken words. o.o
Which is the only reason I had a phone. >.>
It's also easier to text when your free evenings/weekends hasn't started yet.

I say, texting is good for people who are deaf. It is their only way of communicating over the phone, no?

I don't want another phone unless I can make sure that I won't get charged for incoming and outgoing messages if I pay for Unlimited Text Messaging.
