No not at all, I am a christian yet i read them, It was a rhetorical question. I was just saying I think its funny how people will renounce their past even though creativity is a gift. It just amazes me how people can leave all they were behind and then renounce what made them so rich. but she did not renounce the riches.

I have almost every book in the Vampire Chroniclers, with the exception of a few side character stories. I started with the Vampire Lestat, which I'm very grateful, because reading Interview with a Vampire was just...painful.
My favorite character is Marius, hands down. I adore him so much. Blood and Gold is my completely favorite book from the entire series. In fact I feel like I want to go read it right now.

Greetings all. I've been steadily making my way through the Vampire Chronicles as well as several other of her books. My opinion, as of reaching Interview-Memnoch the Devil as well as The Witching Hour and The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty is that four out of the five Vampire Chronicle books are good! Tale of the Body Thief however... EPIC FAIL! OMG! It just went on and on and it was so boring, the only thing that had any significance to anything was when Lestat turned David. That was it! I was happy to see that she redeemed herself with Memnoch the Devil. Despite the very Catholic themes within it, I was impressed with how she molded them to fit her particular telling of the tale. I was surprised to find that Lestat fed off the blood of Christ. And that Maharet came back in the end. I'm getting ready to struggle my way through The Vampire Armand, but I don't have high hopes for that one. I've never really liked Armand to start with, but I've got to struggle through them. It's very unfortunate that she's disowned her books, especially since United Artists (Tom Cruise's personal production company) was talking of doing either Tale of the Body Theif, or The Vampire Lestat. I would love to see Tom Cruise play Lestat in The Vampire Lestat! I think it would be an awesome movie if done right! If they do it the way they did Queen of the Damned, then it will most likely suck, tragically. I'm not saying that Queen of the Damned was a bad movie, but it didn't follow the book at all! If the people who did Interview with a Vampire do The Vampire Lestat it would be awesome! Especially if you can get some of the same people back. Obviously getting Kirsten Dunst to play Claudia again would be a bit difficult, but you could find someone.

Hm... what have I read. I've read Interview-Memnoch and started The Vampire Armand, but stopped halfway through. I've also read Blood Canticle, and currently am on Merrick. In my opinion, The Tale of the Body Thief is the best (so far).
PS. I'm so proud to be one of the favorites on that poll. xd

I'm in a simliar situation. I've just started The Vampire Armand, I believe that The Vampire Lestat is the best, followed by Queen of the Damned, and then Memnoch the Devil. To me, Tale of the Body Thief wasn't a Vampire Book, and it wasn't a witch book either. It was really, I don't even know. It just wasn't what I had come to expect after the first three.

I'm never going to finish The Vampire Armand. It's a waste of time. But Tale of the Body Thief was still good. Granted, it wasn't a total vampire or witch book, but I thought it was still good. It wasn't what I expected either...

I plan on finishing The Vampire Armand, mainly so that I can say that I did it. Also, being slightly OCD, I won't be able to go onto the next one unless I finish the one I'm on. That's just the way I am with series, I have to do them in chronological order at least the first time.
