Everyone knows who the mayor is, but they don't know the second role of the character. They could be a Townie Mayor or a Wolf Mayor.
It wouldn't always be best to kill a Townie Mayor off, because there extra votes could work in the wolves favour, and killing them could reveal the wolves identity if done in the wrong way.
I think it works enough, I'll remove the role for a second game, if it proves to be a problem.

Owwin Nevermind i don't know what is going on. It's really simple, actually, trust me. The Seniors in my Computer math class could play this game, and they were like... Well, they were there because they couldn't do Trig(Which I did the following year.) But mostly they were dumb.

So how are you setting this up? Is there some matchmaking program that randomly puts people on a side, or are you doing it yourself?

No I know mafia, I just made a comment about the mayor, but I actually had no idea what i was saying, I misread the rules. EDIT: Is the method drawing out of a hat?
