I'm indifferent. He's still my favourite composer, but it doesn't change my liking of the music. I honestly love XIII's soundtrack better than most of the others, but so what? I did have issues with the different victory fanfare, but I still love it's new touch to the game. And I think the chocobo theme is different. And Crystal theme isn't there, is it?

I love 13's soundtrack. More than any of the previous games. Usually I only like 3 or 4 of the songs, but I've enjoyed nearly all of 13's. "Will to Fight" is probably my most loved. >_<

I heard he was retiring soon, which really blows. But I want him to pair up with Kenji Ito and Tsuyoshi Sekito again and the three of them make the most insane soundtrack to whatever game Hironobu Sakaguchi fires out next.

i hope FFXIII-2 has its own version of the fanfare now... it really made me sad when it was just a bunch of strumming when you win.. it didn't have the FF feal. sad

Uematsu's a very nice dude, I met him once, but Final Fantasy and videogames in general have a bunch of amazing composers as well. XIII had a great soundtrack that fit the videogame so I dont mind at all as it was great.

Uematsu is a freelancer so it wouldn't be too bad right now.
I mean, FF13 and FFXIII-2's music is very good in my opinion, including FF12.
