Marie Marie listened closely to what he said to her and then stood up silently. She walked into her bedroom and grabbed a bag, reaching around her she grabbed a few weapons and some extra clothing. She then walked over to one of her chests and opened it. She looked inside it and grabbed every type of herb and medicine she could fit into the bag. After all that she walked back out into the room. "I know the witches, well I know someone who knows them. I'll take you to them, I know these woods better then anyone and you're going to need some help. So tell me would you prefer to sleep here tonight and start in the morning or do you want to head out now?" She grinned widely at him before heading to her "Kitchen" and grabbing some food to throw into the bag as well. "You didn't deserve to be attacked the way you were and I will not stand by and watch it happen again when I know I can help." She was frustrated again, thinking of the cruelty of people. This man was here to save his people and hers simply beat him down with hate in their hearts. It sickened her.

Vaul Moon
Vaul eyes wandered around the room and followed her when they could. He had finished explain the matter to her when she came back in and spoke to him once more. His eyes light up literally and glowed a crystal blue before fading to there original state. Pondering her question he waited for her return before providing her with an answer. "I would prefer to rest here for the night and let my wound heal" he said before she spoke to him once more. Only a slight nod came from him but he did have some understanding as to what was happening in these since spending some time here. "Your generosity is refreshing if I must say" he said. Most here had treated him like s**t but then again these lands where not in the most stable situation. It did not take a native to notice that much. War might happen but he hoped not to be around if it came to that.
A few thoughts wondered about his mind and he leaned back within his seat. "Where will I be resting for the night" Vaul asked in a curious tone. This home seemed large enough for one or two people but he assumed that she lived alone here.

Marie Marie thought for a moment about the sleeping arrangements. She looked around her house and then remembered the other room, she hadn't been in it in so long that she had practically forgotten about it. "I have another room, it's probably really dusty so you'll stay in my room and I will sleep in that one." She commented putting the bag she packed by the door. She walked over to her room and opened the door. "You should get some sleep, you've had a long day. If you need anything just let me know." She said watching him closely. He was very brave, that much she could tell. But she wondered what he thought the witches could do to help, while their powers where widely talked about, they always had a price for their help.

Vaul watched her and nodded slightly after she mentioned there was a room from him to sleep in. "That is fine" he said before standing up. His wound ached slightly but it should heal quickly and he could use some sleep. It had been a few nights now that he did not have a decent nights rest. A few thoughts crossed his mind as he walked into the room and mumbled a few words. Spell casting was something he had studied for many years and he knew a few tricks that would clean the room in a matter of moments. There was a bright flash of light and the room seemed to be in a cleaner state and this would work for him. Turning around he looked towards her. "I will be sure to do that and thank you once more for you kindness and help" he said before bowing slightly. He had always been an overly polite being and maybe it bothered some people but she was the first friendly person he had met here. "I would ask that you leave me to rest. I will be up in the morning" he said before he made his way over the the bed and he laid down and shut his eyes. His arms where folded over his chest. He was out in a matter of seconds and his sleep almost seemed like death.

Marie Marie woke up early and went outside to practice her fighting, she stretched first, and then went through the moves with each of her weapons, she wanted to use them all as if they were part of her body. She wondered if maybe she should wake up Vaul so they could begin their journey onward. She wouldn't admit this but she was always nervous about visiting the witches. Some of them were not as friendly as they could of been. She figured she could talk to the ones who would seem more likely to help out, after all Vaul seemed like a really nice guy and he deserved the help. Plus she was rather curious about him. She wondered about where he came from and who he was. Maybe this trip would give her time to ask him questions. Shaking her head, she called it quits for the day and went to the kitchen to make some food for breakfast. She smiled when she smelled how delicious it came out. ((Alright smile ))

Vaul Moon
Vaul slept well during the night but woke up feeling sick and weak. It was the black scrawl at work and he needed to relax his body before it escalated into a larger problem. He was in a sitting position and he removed his mask and place it on a near by table. He made sure he turned his back to the door and he was looking forwards to her seeing him in this state. Stripping down, his torso was left open and several pieces of metal could be seen running down his spine. It blended in with his skin and there where a few areas that had a gentle blue glow to it.
Covering his mouth with his hand he began to cough and it did not seem to stop. Eventually he managed to calm him self but he could see a thick black substance that covered his mechanical limb. He was trying to catch his breath as he leaned back slightly to open up his lungs. He hoped that she would not run into the room but she might from what he had seen of her thus far. Reaching up he scratch his head before letting out a huff of air. Most of his body was deformed slightly and covered in black markings that almost too the shape of various symbols.

Marie Marie was sitting at the table when she heard the coughing start up, she wouldn't of done anything but he sounded really sick, almost as if someone had just kicked him in the chest. she jumped up from the table and ran toward his room, opening the door without knocking and froze in her spot. She had never seen anyone like him in her life, and apart of her was scared, but the other part was concerned. "I'm so sorry." Those seemed to be the only words that she could properly form. There was a voice in her head telling her to leave the room, but she couldn't move her feet. "What happened to you?" She asked and then slapped a hand over her mouth in horror at the words that had come out of her mouth. "I'm so sorry, that was a horrible thing to ask." She rushed from the room and went into the kitchen again. She was angry with herself for being so rude, but concerned and frightened. Had others done this to him? Or was it normal for where he came from to be like that? She was beginning to realize that there was a lot about the world she didn't know.

Vaul coughed a little more when she came into the room and his back was turned to her. He took her comments lightly and could sense some concern in her at this moment. He was about to say something but could not speak at this time. A sigh came from him when he heard the sound of footsteps and she left the room. He felt a need to explain some matters to her. "You can come in and there is nothing to worry about" he said hoping the she would hear him. Reaching for his mask he placed it back onto his face and reached for some rags that he carried with him and cleaned off the black liquid that covered his hand. It was not too long before he covered the rest of his body.
He slowly stood up and made his way into the kitchen and found him self a place to sit. "I suppose I should explain somethings to you about my people" he said. He was an understanding person and did not judge her by what she has said thus far. Marie saved his life and for that he owed her more then she could possibly understand. "Will you listen" he asked in a curious tone. He was not sure what she was going to do but he hoped she would hear him out. His breathing was heavy at this moment and he just needed to rest a little.

Marie Marie turned toward him he entered the room and cocked her head to the side when he said he should explain some things. She walked over and got him some water and put it down in front of him. "Drink this, it will help your throat." She said softly and then sat down across from him. "I'll listen to anything you have to say." She murmured and looked at him so he would know he had her full attention. Her hands were in front of her and she fidgeted, she couldn't deny that she was nervous about what he could tell her, but at the same time she was very curious and eager to here about a place different then from where she had grown up.

Vaul nodded slightly as she handed him the drink but he simply left it where it was. He looked over at her and nothing on his face could be made out but his eyes. "Thank you" he said before smiling slightly. "As mentioned before the Black Scrawl infects my people but not just a few all of us have this sickness. It slowly rots away the body and causes deformities to occur in infants" he started out by saying. He was going to explain the reason for his appearance and such but it took him a moment or two to organize his thoughts. A sigh came from him as he leaned back slightly to get into a comfortable position.
" Because of our history with magic and mechanical devices the two became melded. When the plague first start crude machines where implanted into some people to held stave off the effects. Now it has become common places and it helps to extend out life but its no solution" Vaul said. Letting his words sink in for a few moments he coughed a little more but it was not as bad as earlier on. Another sigh came from him as he gripped his side.
Vaul blinked slowly and wondered what was going on through her mind. "Now that brings us to me. I was sent to seek others to help with this sickness or my people will die and like many others I am affected by it" he said before lifting his mechanical hand and moved the fingers. "I have already lost this arm and both legs but we can only go so far with it" he added in. It was not a pretty story but he did not want her pity if he would receive any from her. "I hope this helps clear some things up" he said.

Marie Marie listened closely to what he said, she closed her eyes at one point because she couldn't imagine an entire race of people suffering so much. In that moment she became even more determined to help him. she would make sure that he got the help he was looking for. "You're very strong." She finally said looking up at him, she felt honored that he had trusted her enough to tell her this about his people and looking at him she knew better then to pity him. That wasn't why he was here. She stood up. "Well then, we better head out." She smiled offering him her hand.

Vaul heard her statement and chuckled softly before shaking his head from side to side. "I am just stubborn" he said. He watched move around an soon enough she was standing near him and extending her hand. At first he was a little reluctant to take her hand but he eventually grabbed on to it and stood up. "How long with the trip take" he asked in a curious tone. He hoped it would not be a long journey but it seemed quite likely knowing the size of this land. A few stray thoughts crossed his mind as he let go to of her hand and began to walk to the exit of her home.

Marie Marie felt some disappointment when he let go of her hand but she shrugged it off as the lack of company she had. "Should take about a day or two as long as we don't run into any trouble at the swamp, which in unlikely since there is always trouble there, but it's really the quickest route." She sighed running her fingers through her hair. She wasn't sure of his health and that made her nervous, since she had come out to live alone, she had done just that, live alone. She muttered a few words and a light appeared on one of her fingers like a ring, within seconds it looked just like an ordinary ring.

Vaul listened to her answer and sighed softly. He was not overly interested in trekking through a swamp at this time but it seemed he did not have much of a choice in the matter. Pondering a few thoughts he opened the entrance to her home and looked back over at Marie. "Is it possible to avoid going through the swamp" he asked in a curious tone. Although they where a bit short on time but then again if he died during this trip it would be pointless and his people would be left to suffer. Making his way through the entrance he motioned for her to follow. He waited out there for her to lead the way and he had a few questions of his own and they had some time to talk. "Have you always lived alone" he asked.

Marie Marie thought about and nodded "There's a path that gets you to the same place but it'll add a day to our trip. Then again it is a lot safer we probably should head that way anyway." She turned in direction to face the path opposite the one to the swamp. Then she heard his question. He had every right to ask questions especially when he was walking with her and she had done nothing but ask him questions since she had met him. "No, I used to live in a village, but one day I left and came out here." She responded giving him a smile.
