Rini: ty is right. Porn is for people that can't find lovers and you know... it's not always their fault.

Alot of the time, that other person only cares about themself and how many free gifts they can get out of it (all the really hot people are shallow). So poor (moneyless) people like me don't stand a chance to get anything good. (why should we "settle for second best" and never truly be happy?)

Porn exists to give us something "good" to look at until that day when (and if) we find that (fictional) perfect match that everyone rants about.

1. You guys are working with two completely incompatible perspectives here. I could explain both of you to each other, but that would be a waste of time.

2. Porn is not just for people without a "lover" (I use that term loosely here). Lots of couples enjoy it together.

3. Dude, you are too cynical for someone who's never gone out into the world to find out for yourself.

4. "Get anything good"?! Aside from your objectification problem here, you're assuming that the only "good" people are hot people, when only .1% of the population would be considered hot by your standards, and truly "good" (in a couple of different uses of the word) people aren't usually the best looking. You're also assuming that you couldn't be happy with "second best", which is a BIG assumption considering No. 3 in my list and the extremely arbitrary way in which "best" is judged in this case.

5. True, there are no perfect matches. It takes work, effort, time, and a desire to make it work, and it's still not perfect. But it can be great, and you might find that "second best" is your best.

Probably because all I ever hear about are the guys whos girls force them to choose between their collections and her.

4: I'll admit it, I'm too cynical. And I know my concept of "attraction" is EXTREMELY strict. But without physical attraction (on both sides I know) the relationship is nothing more then just friendship. Also I know that "best" depends on the persons preferences.

And as for "objectification"... lets not forget that women do the exact same thing. Allow me to quite a woman I heard once... "use him and throw him away like a tissue"

I'm not going to argue against the fact that sometimes it takes time to see all the good that's truly there. And I know that physical attraction can grow from longtime friendships but it doesn't happen as often as it does on tv. And most don't have that kind of time. Hell you can't have sex until your 18, and your considdered "over the hill" at 30. That's NOT alot of time to spend on "longtime friendships" just waiting for physical attraction. (no matter how hard you work at it)

And 18? Do you know how many kids these days have sex before 18? And people may be considered old at 30, but that doesn't mean much as far as sex goes (except, of course, for men and their neverending obsession with teenage girls). Actually, biologically, women hit their sexual prime around 30. surprised 3nodding Men don't know what they're missing. xd
