Cities. They never sleep, no matter where you go. There's always one city drinking yet another venti iced half-cafe toffee-nut soy latte with light ice and no whip cream, even if two-thirds of the state is fast asleep.

The small city of Ellensburg was no different from her sisters like Seattle or Olympia, despite her size. Though most of the city slept, there remained a few night owls prowling the streets and roads, seeking whatever it was that had to them awake at nine o'clock of the evening, in the dead of winter.

Unlike most of the little cells of Ellensburg's blood known as citizens however, one person was only up at the cold and dark hour for one reason - she had no place to sleep.

"It's ******** freezing..." Gabriel growled, shivering fiercely beneath a thin blanket which had long lost it's warmth purpose. But it was still better than nothing, and nothing is worse than nothing in the middle of yet another blizzard.
"Stupid ******** state, with it's stupid ******** city, and it's stupid ******** weather..." She hissed between clenched teeth as she tried to keep them from shattering into a million useless pieces from them clanging together thanks to her shivering jaw while she slinked into an empty alleyway, looking for a break from the rentless wind, which forced her to go deep inside the dead end alley to avoid the snowflakes that blew around the corners of the building.

Slowly, she sat herself down on the ground, in what was probably the driest spot of the alley. Not the most comfortable bed, but it was better than most she had slept on.
Just as her eyelids were becoming too heavy to even hold up, something caught Gabriel's eye though. An empty, and abandoned bottle. After staring at the bottle for half a minute, she stood up once more and walked towards the bottle, picking it up.
This could make a good weapon to use on crazy hobos...Or a water bottle... She thought happily, until something else on the bottle caught her attention. Something was sitting at the bottom of the bottle. With little to no light in the alley, it was impossible to tell what the Hell was in the bottle, even if she did want to know.
"Disgusting..." She groaned, looking around for a place to dispose of the now useless bottle. Luckily, not far from her, was an open trashcan.
"...That'll do." She shrugged, walking to the can and throwing the bottle inside with a satisfied smirk, and disgusted - and cold - shiver.

The ground underneath her suddenly gave way, as if it never even existed...

The hole went down for nearly fifteen feet until Gabriel would reach the ground, where a cushioned platform waited for her.

The ground that had given way, now above her, was a hidden trapdoor that now closed on its own...

The pitch-black room was then slowly lit to show a small room with a door at the end. A small camera was directly above it.

Meanwhile, back on the surface, the bottle she had held onto seemed to roll back to where it was before....

As soon as the ground gave way, Gabriel took in a sharp gasp, before she began screaming for the rest of the fourteen and a half feet left to fall. Once she hit the cushioned platform, her screaming stopped and she let out a slightly pained grunt.

"What the Hell!?" She yelled, looking around the room as it began to lit up, before it suddenly went dark again as her blanket finally caught up and fell on her head, blocking her ******** worthless blanket..." She growled at it, ripping it off her head as she stood up and stared at the door.

"...I'm dead anyway, sooo..." She sighed, slowly walking up to the door and staring at the camera.
"...Uh... Hello..?" She called, tilting her head at it. "Anybody there..? Heeelllllllloooooo..." She continued to call, waving her hand in the camera, before she looked at the door. She then began knocking on it. As loudly as she could.
"HEEEEEELLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOO. Could you let me inside? Don't want to spend my night out here, thank you very much!"

Clicks could be heard from the camera, focusing on the child.
"..................SCANNING.......SCANNING......" A metallic voice chimed, a light focusing on the girl's face.

"THREAT LEVEL.....................NEGATIVE FIFTEEN PERCENT...."

Glowing yellow eyes squinted in the dark atop the roof of an old apartment complex. A white tail flickered.
"Whaaaa?!?!" Bi-Bi groaned into the frigid air. She leaned farther over. She could have sworn that she'd seen Gabriel just a few seconds ago! That neon-purple hair was not something you didn't recognize. A pout immediately covered the otherwise cheery girl's face. Right when she had thought she had found someone....

Crrk..

Bi-Bi's eyes went wide as she felt the rocky ledge beneath her crumble apart. Without a moment to spare, she found herself clawing at the air around her as she fell. Thankfully, a nearby windowsill gave her left hand a pause from plummeting. Unfortunately, it was still about fifteen feet above the ground. And an icky trashcan. She gave a whine.

Kio lifted his head from the steering wheel. He sighed. Where was he again? Or more importantly, where was he headed? Traveling from city to city wasn't going to do anything to stop that factory of bastards. Yet here he was, sleeping in his car, on a curb, in another city he couldn't recognize. Nevermind the fact that it wasn't the friendliest city; about five homeless men had stopped to stare at his car with suspicious intentions, and one even attempted to open the passenger door before realizing that someone was in the car.
A rough hand massaged his neck, bright eyes awakening to their nocturnal normality. Turning to the side, Kio examined what this pathetic hole had to offer. His eyebrows perked up at the sight of a cafe. Coffee sounded great.

Pushing the door to his black Acura Advanced sports car, Kio begrudgingly began heading toward the cafe's brightly colored sign, making absolute sure that his car was locked and that 'Toby' was with him. He had almost gotten to the restaurant's doors when a small and furry sight forced all thoughts of coffee out of his mind. Deep pupils nearly shrank as Kio stared into the beady eyes of the little vermin that had dared cross his path. He could feel his jaw tightening.

Within seconds, Kio was running, full speed, after the rodent, nearly foaming at the mouth with the intensity that followed his adrenaline. Timing himself, he pounced just as the rat turned into a dark alleyway....

Straightening himself out into a normal standing position, Kio relunctantly dropped the small, limp creature into his hand. It was a shame that he had to murder these things - they didn't do anything wrong - but for whatever reason, he couldn't escape it. Something told him that this was what he was supposed to do-

"Kio!" a bubbly voice called out.

An immediate eye twitch followed the voice. Eyes of fire shot toward its owner.
"Figures someone like you would be here," he hissed.

Bi-Bi pouted from her helpless position.
"Kio, don't be mean! I'm stuck!" she whined.

Examining her situation - and finding it true- Kio calmly walked next to the trashcan right beneath her. He held his arms out.

Eyes widening, a radiant grin spread on Bi-Bi's face.
"Thank you Kio!" she cheered, letting the windowsill go and falling right into....the garbage can. Wincing at the pain the collision caused, Bi-Bi tried lifting herself up to stare at the boy angrily.

Kio had already begun his departure. He decided he'd skip the coffee altogether and head to a different city. One uninfected with vermin perhaps. He paused as an angry stare bore into his head. He allowed himself to look at the neko over his shoulder.
"You are so f***ing stupid Anabelle."

((Ahh... I love those two. ^^))

"Eh?" Gabriel's ears twitched as the camera began to move, click, and light up. As the camera examined her, she examined it back, trying to identify why it would make such strange noises.

"NEGATIVE FIFTEEN PERCENT."

"WHAT?!" She barked at it, her eyes turning in daggers. "I'm a bigger threat than that!" She yelled, pointing down to her katana and pistol.

Outside of the lab, and in the streets near Kio and Bi-Bi's location, footsteps could be heard approaching. Judging by the tempo, the walker was going at a fast pace, as if they were searching for something. Or someone.
A bright light then suddenly shined down the alley way and into both of the young adults' eyes, while a male voice called out, "Gabriel? Gabriel you down there? It's me. Your big brother, Raphael."

More clicking could be heard from the camera...

"SCANNING......SCANNING........"

After a long pause, the voice chimed in again...

"NEGATIVE FOURTEEN PERCENT."

"HIGHER YOU b*****d!" Gabriel barked at the camera, drawing her katana and using it like a stick, poking and prodding at the camera's lens.

((Lol thank you ^___^ ))

Kio flinched as the uninvited light pierced his sensitive eyes, raising an arm to block it. Hearing the voice, his mood immediately became even more irritated. Was there some secret meeting for every Alpha he hated tonight?!
"Someone as reasonable as her wouldn't be here." he barked angrily at Raphael, remembering the rather spunky name he was shouting. "Turn the damn light off." he commanded.

Bi-Bi yelped at the bright light, ducking into the garbage. If the cops found her near a trashcan, they would assume she was eating out of it (again) and send her to a dark, grim place with depressing people (again). Needless to say, it wasn't a very fun place to be.
However, at the sound of Gabriel's name, her body popped out of the waste so fast, she could have been mistaken for a whack-o-mole.
"OH! You saw her too?!? She was here a minute ago, but she suddenly disappeared! I was trying to find her, but I slipped, and then Kio tried to help m-"
Bi-Bi's sentence was interrupted as she dodged and caught a glass bottle that had been thrown at a threatening speed. She tilted her head to the side, examining it.

"I did not help the likes of you." Kio growled through gritted teeth at the girl. Luckily, he had found the glass container near his foot to throw at her. His head snapped back to Raphael.
"I said to turn the damn light off!" he began to holler, his personality taking a hungry, tired, hate-centered turn for the worst.

Bi-Bi gave a pout at the fox's words.
"Kio, if you're going to throw something away, at least wait until I get out of the trashcan! You could have hit me!" she retorted, dropping the bottle into the muddled trash beneath her and hopping out of the garbage container. She brushed off her dress, unable to become upset that new stains had been placed among the thousands of others on her dress.

Kio gripped a small handle hanging out of a box-like contraption hooked to his waist. The only thing that he hated more than Bi-Bi's existence was her way of taking every contemptuous action he did and warping it into an accident.

Meanwhile, in the darkness around Gabriel...

"SCANNING....SCANNING....."

"NEW THREAT LEVEL......NEGATIVE TWENTY PERCENT...."

The ground underneath all three of them suddenly gave way like Gabriel, and sent them down through the ground.

Oddly enough, they were placed in another room altogether, yet it looked like the one Gabriel was in to the T...

"NEGATIVE TWENTY?!" Gabriel barked, whacking the camera now. "IMPOSSIBLE!"

While Kio and Bi-Bi bickered, Raphael couldn't help but stare. Those two, when put together, were just so...odd.
After being barked at for the second time to turn out the lights, Raphael finally clued in. "Oh. Oh! Sorry!" He nervously laughed, clicking off the flashlight. "Sorry Kio.." He continued laughing, scratching the back of his head. A few moments later, another message finally clue into his head.

In a flash, he was at Bi-Bi's side, holding her shoulders and shaking her like a rag doll. "WHERE'S GABRIEL!? IS SHE OKAY?! WHERE DID SHE GO?!" He barked, before the ground below gave way.

The entire way down, Raphael screamed like a girl...

Bi-Bi stared, wide-eyed, as she was suddenly shaken and barked at, unable to understand what the person was saying. For a while, she thought it had been Kio, until a tremor underneath her feet turned her thinking process into a different direction entirely.

Kio grunted a thank you as the light was finally turned off, glad to finally see again, though it was rather difficult for his eyes to adjust to the darkness of the alleyway once again. However, he soon found that to be useless as the cement seemed to collapse underneath him, sucking him down. His hands reached out for grip but found nothing but bits of gravel that were falling with him.

Leaping into the air, Bi-Bi used Raphael's head as a stepping stone to flip to the edge of the pit they had apparently been standing over. Grabbing onto the side, Bi-Bi frantically began to panick as the ground began to rise back up. Should she go down there and help them?! Or should she stay up here and get someone else to help her?!
After a brief moment of rushed thinking (and listening to the sound of Raphael's girlish screaming), Bi-Bi opted to save them herself. Who was going to believe her anyway? Letting go of the cement, she darted into the quickly closing slit. She fell for a short while, her muscles braced for impact, when she landed on something firm, but fleshy.

"UGH!" Kio grunted as a weight pummeled into him, hissing at the nails that gripped into his shirt. He knew immediately who it was. And it was the last straw.
Reaching into the darkness, he clenched a wad of silver hair and threw it off of him. Gripping the handle of 'Toby' with his right hand, he yanked it from his waist. Rising to stand, he threw the weapon into the direction he'd thrown a certain annoying cat. Clinks of metal grinded together as the metal box transformed into a flamethrower-like gun, a glowing blue ring surrounding the end of its barrel. Pulling the trigger, a bright red ball of fire launched itself at the very tip of Anabelle's fleeting tail.

"K-KIO!! STOP!!" Bi-Bi tried calling out, hysterically darting around the black room in attempts to escape his tsunami of fatally close shots. She whimpered as she collided with a wall, unable to see in the blinding darkness.

A smirk pasted itself onto Kio's face, watching Anabelle idiotically make herself a sitting duck. Or cat, more rather. He raised 'Toby'.
"Not quick enough," he taunted, his finger beginning to apply pressure to the trigger.

((1. I don't know what kind of room it is, so if it catches on fire or something (which I'm sure it won't) lemme know and
2. Please don't let Kio kill Bi-Bi. I'm sorry that you guys have to rescue her (she's a total ditz), but if you could, I'd really appreciate it and I promise she won't be like this for a very good while.))

A beeping could be heard from the room the three were in. An anti-fire device. Unlike a small sprinkler system, it seemed like an entire pool worth of water dumped upon all three of them...

Luckily, there was a drain...

Meanwhile, in the other room....

"YES. NEGATIVE TWENTY PERCENT."
PostPosted: Thu Sep 02, 2010 8:44 pm
"IMPOSSIBLE! I'M ******** CHOPPING YOU!" Gabriel barked, continuing to whack on the camera like a disobedient child.

"...Son of a b***h..." Raphael groaned, his landing less fortunate than Bi-Bi's as he had hit the ground below. Face first.
Despite the clicking and screaming, Raphael didn't feel like picking his head up UNTIL the warm started getting uncomfortably warm thanks to Kio's little box of Hell.

"Eh..?" He groaned with blurred vision and in a dazed state, trying to make out the bright and colorful surrounding him.
"...Kio... Stop... Fribbling the boliwog..." He mumbled, moments before the water was dumped.

"...Well... That solves my thirst problem... But my fish still needs a drink..." He mumbled, before dropping his head again.

The camera in the room with the three began clicking like the one in Gabriel's room after the water drained.

"SCANNING........SCANNING......."

Meanwhile....
